Frequently Asked Questions - CD5232ST JUNG

How do I install the JUNG CD5232ST wall socket?
Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician. Ensure the power is turned off. Connect the phase (L), neutral (N), and earth (PE) wires to the corresponding screw terminals. Securely tighten the screws. Fit the socket into a standard flush-mounted box (60 mm depth recommended) and attach the frame.
What tools are needed for installation?
You will need a screwdriver (Phillips or slotted depending on terminal screws), wire stripper, voltage tester to confirm power is off, and possibly a spirit level to align the socket.
Can the CD5232ST be used outdoors?
No, this socket has an IP20 rating, which means it is not protected against moisture or dust. It is intended for indoor use only.
What is the maximum load this socket can handle?
The socket is rated for 16 A and 250 V AC, so the maximum load is 3,680 W (16 A * 230 V). Ensure the connected device does not exceed this limit.
Does the CD5232ST have USB charging ports?
No, the CD5232ST is a standard wall socket without USB ports. If you need USB charging, consider JUNG models with integrated USB (e.g., CD5232ST-USB).
How should I clean the wall socket?
Disconnect power before cleaning. Use a dry, soft cloth to wipe the surface. Do not use water, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as they may damage the material.
Is the CD5232ST compatible with a dimmer?
No, this is a standard power outlet and cannot be used with a dimmer. Dimmers are designed for lighting circuits only.
What cable size can be connected?
The screw terminals accept solid or stranded conductors with a cross-section of up to 2.5 mm² (approximately 14 AWG). Larger cables may not fit securely.
Does the socket comply with safety regulations?
Yes, the JUNG CD5232ST is VDE certified and bears the CE marking, ensuring it meets European safety standards. It also includes child-proof shutters.
How do I replace an existing socket with the CD5232ST?
Turn off the circuit breaker. Remove the old socket and disconnect wires. Connect the wires to the new socket (phase to L, neutral to N, earth to PE). Attach the socket to the box and secure the frame. Restore power and test.
