How do I pair my Bluetooth device with the MD708?

Turn the unit on and set the Function selector to BT. The blue indicator will blink. On your Bluetooth device, search for 'MD708' and pair. If asked for a PIN, try '0000' or '1234'. Once paired, the blue indicator stops blinking.

What should I do if the turntable is playing too fast or too slow?

Check the Speed selector on the turntable. Set it to 33, 45, or 78 rpm to match your record's speed.

How do I replace the stylus?

Use a small screwdriver to push the old stylus off and pull it out. Then push the new stylus (included) onto the cartridge until it clicks. Make sure the guide pins align.

Can I connect external speakers to this system?

The MD708 has built-in speakers. For external audio, use the LINE OUT jacks (RCA) to connect to an external amplifier or powered speakers. Note: the unit does not have speaker outputs for passive speakers.

How can I improve FM reception?

Unwind and extend the FM wire antenna on the rear of the unit. Try repositioning the antenna or the entire unit to reduce interference.

Why is there no sound from the Bluetooth connection?

Ensure the Bluetooth device is paired and within range (32 feet). Also check that the volume is turned up on both the MD708 and your Bluetooth device. Set the function selector to BT.

How do I play a 45 RPM record?

Place the supplied 45 RPM adapter onto the center spindle before placing the record. If not using the adapter, store it in the tray on the turntable.

What is the warranty period and how do I get service?

Can I use the AUX IN and turntable at the same time?

No, the Function selector chooses one source at a time (PHONO, AUX, BT, or FM). Switch between them as needed.

How do I install the legs on the MD708?

Attach the four upper legs to the bottom of the unit using the supplied screws. Then insert the lower legs into the upper legs and turn 90° clockwise to lock them in place.

17) Overloading

If an outside antenna is connected to the product, be sure the antenna system is grounded so as to. Provide some protection against voltage surges and built up static charges. Section 810 of the National Electric Code ANSI/NFPA 70 provides information with respect to proper grounding of the mast and supporting structure, grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna discharge product, size of grounding conductors, location of antenna-discharge product, connection to grounding electrodes and requirements for the grounding electrodes.

23) Damage requiring service

24) Note to CATV system installer

This reminder is provided to call the CATV system installer's attention to Article 820-40 of the NEC that provides guidelines for proper grounding and, in particular, specifies that the cable ground shall be connected to the grounding system of the building, as close to the point of cable entry as practical.

NOTE: Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Install the supplied plastics legs to the unit as below:

Power Source

1. Connect the small plug from the supplied AC/DC Adaptor to the DC IN jack on the rear of unit.
2. Connect the AC/DC Adapter into a conveniently located AC outlet having AC 100-240V\~, 50/60Hz.

Notes:

\~ This AC/DC Adaptor is intended to be correctly orientated in a vertical or floor mount position.
\~ To save energy, unplug the AC/DC Adaptor from wall outlet if not using the unit for extended periods.

Operation

General Operation:

1. Connect the unit to AC power as instructed previously.
2. Unlock the metallic buckle on the sides then open the top cover as illustrated below:

1. Turn the Power ON-OFF/Volume control knob clockwise to power on the unit and set the volume to the desired level. The Red indicator on the front of the unit will illuminate.

2. Turn the Function selector to the desired position.

3. When finished listening, turn the Power ON-OFF/Volume control knob counterclockwise until "Click" is heard to shut off the unit. The indicators will shut off.

4. Close the top cover then lock the metallic buckle as the illustrated below.

Listening through Bluetooth

(BT) Bluetooth Pairing:

For first time use or re-pairing to a new BT Device, follow these instructions:

1. Turn the Power ON-OFF/Volume knob clockwise to power on the unit and set the volume to the desired level.
2. Turn the Function selector to BT position. The Blue indicator will illuminate and blink.
3. Power on the external BT Device and enter to BT search mode. Start pairing as the on screen instructions on the external BT Device. When paired, the Blue indicator will stop blinking.

(For details pairing procedures, please refer to the user's manual of your BT Device.).

1. If pairing is complete you may now play music with your external BT Device.
2. During playback, using the controls on the paired BT Device to skip the tracks; pause; play... etc.

Notes:

• When the external BT player searches for the unit, our model number "MD708" will appear on the display of external BT Device.
• If while pairing you are asked for a code please try "0000" or "1234".

Normal operation after paired:

1. Power on the external BT Device and enter to BT playback mode.
2. Turn the Power ON-OFF/Volume knob clockwise to power on the unit and set the volume to the desired level.
3. Turn the Function selector to BT position. The Blue indicator will illuminate and blink.
4. Wait a few seconds until the unit automatically paired to the external BT Device. (The Blue indicator will stop blinking.)
5. If pairing is complete you may now play music with your external BT Device.
6. During playback, using the controls on the paired BT Device to skip the tracks; pause; play... etc.

Listening to a Record

1. For first time use, take off the protective cover from the stylus as illustrated below:

1. Place the Record on the center spindle.

Note: If you are playing a 45 RPM Single (small size record), place the supplied 45 RPM adapter to the center spindle then place the record on it. If you don't use the adaptor, place it to the tray as the illustrated below:

1. Slide the Speed selector to 33; 45 or 78 to match the play speed of the record.

2. Unlock the Tone arm from the holder as illustrated below:

1. Turn the Power ON-OFF/Volume knob clockwise to power on the unit and set the volume to the desired level.

2. Turn the Function selector to PHONO position. The Red indicator will illuminate.

3. Raise the Lever above the Tone arm then move it to the top on the desired location of the record. Release the Lever to put the Tone arm onto the record. Plays will auto start.

4. When finished playback, the unit will automatically stop turning (if you want to stop immediately); raise the Lever above the Tone arm then put it back to the Holder. Release the Lever then lock the Tone arm on the Holder.

Listening to the Radio

1. Turn the Power ON-OFF/Volume knob clockwise to power on the unit and set the volume to the desired level.
2. Turn the Function selector to FM position. The Red indicator will illuminate.
3. Turn the Tuning knob to receive the desired FM radio station.

Antenna:

The FM wire antenna on the rear of unit is for FM reception. If reception is weak, unwind and extend the wire or reassemble the wire antenna to other direction/location to improve reception.

Other Connections

AUX IN:

Listen to music from the external audio player as follows:

1. Connect one end of the supplied audio connection cable to the Phones jack; Line out jack or AUX out jack on the external audio player.

2. Connect the other end to the AUX IN jack on the front of unit as the illustrated below:

1. Turn the Power ON-OFF/Volume knob clockwise to power on the unit and set the volume to the desired level.

2. Turn the Function selector to the AUX position. The Red indicator will illuminate.

3. Play the music on the connected external audio player as usual.

Notes:

• Make sure the volume level of the external audio player is set to high. Otherwise, sound from this unit may weak.

LINE OUT:

Listening from external audio amplifier:

1. Connect one end of the RCA audio connection cable (not supplied) to the Line IN jacks or AUX IN jacks on the external audio amplifier.

2. Connect the other end of the cable to the LINE OUT jacks on the rear of unit as the illustrated below:

1. Power on the unit and plays music as usual as the instructed earlier.

2. Power on the external audio amplifier and set it to LINE IN mode to play the music from this unit.

Records Handling

- Do not touch the record's grooves. Only handle records, by the edges or the label. Make sure your hands are clean. Skin oils from even clean hands can leave a residue on the record surface that will gradually deteriorate the quality of your record.

• Keep your hands away from dust. Keep them in a cool, dry place.
• To avoid dust and scratches, keep records in their sleeves and jackets when not in use.
• Store records upright on their edges. Records stored horizontally will eventually bend and ward.
• Do not expose records to direct sunlight or high humidity and temperature. Long exposure to high temperatures will warp the record.
• Do not store your records in the trunk of your car. The temperature in a closed trunk can ruin your collection.
• Store records in an area with a stable temperature and low humidity.
• Should the record become dirty, gently wipe the surface in a circular motion, using a soft anti-static cloth.

If the stylus is abrased by long time use, replace it with the supplied extra stylus as follows:
