Frequently Asked Questions - Crunch Distortion Harley Benton

How do I power the Harley Benton Crunch Distortion pedal?
You can power it using a 9V battery or a standard 9V DC adapter with center negative polarity. The current draw is approximately 10 mA.
What do the controls on the Crunch Distortion do?
The pedal has three knobs: Level controls output volume, Tone adjusts treble/bass balance, and Distortion sets the amount of gain.
Is the Crunch Distortion true bypass?
Yes, it features true bypass switching using a mechanical relay, ensuring no signal degradation when the effect is off.
Can I use the Crunch Distortion with bass guitar?
While designed for electric guitar, it can work with bass. However, it may cut some low frequencies; for best results use a bass-specific pedal.
Why is my pedal not turning on?
Check the battery or power supply connection. Ensure the power adapter is 9V DC center negative. If using a battery, make sure it is fresh and correctly inserted.
How do I clean and maintain the pedal?
Wipe the housing with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid moisture and solvents. Keep the jacks clean and free of dust.
What is the input/output impedance of the Crunch Distortion?
Input impedance is 1 MΩ, output impedance is 100 Ω, making it suitable for standard guitar setups.
The pedal sounds noisy. What can I do?
Check your cables and power supply. Use a dedicated isolated power supply. Ensure the tone control is not set too high, as high frequencies can emphasize noise.
Can I daisy-chain this pedal with others?
Yes, but ensure the power supply can handle the total current draw. For best performance, use an isolated power supply to avoid ground loop noise.
Where can I find replacement parts or repair service?
Contact Harley Benton customer support or an authorized service center. Spare parts like knobs or jacks may be available through their website.
