How does the wireless charging work?

The system uses inductive charging: a magnetic field between the charger coil and the battery coil transfers energy without physical contacts.

What batteries are compatible with the Car Holster?

It works with GBA 18 V 2.0 Ah MW-B and 4.0 Ah MW-C Wireless Charging batteries, as well as standard Bosch 18 V Li-Ion batteries (except GKS 18 V-LI and GML 20/50).

Can I charge the battery while driving?

Yes, the Car Holster connects to the 12 V cigarette lighter and charges the battery while you drive, so your tool is ready upon arrival.

Is the Car Holster waterproof?

It is robust against water, dust, and dirt thanks to the closed design without open electrical contacts, but not fully submersible.

What tools can be stored in the Car Holster?

It accommodates 18 V cordless screwdrivers like GSR, GSB, GDR, GDS, and GDX series with 2.0 Ah or 4.0 Ah Wireless Charging batteries.

How long does it take to fully charge a battery?

For a 2.0 Ah battery: approx. 35 min to 80% and 45 min to 100%. For a 4.0 Ah battery: approx. 65 min to 80% and 85 min to 100%.

Does frequent short charging damage the battery?

No, Care Charging technology selects the optimal charging mode and protects the battery by using low current for partial charges.

Can I use the Car Holster with a standard L-BOXX?

The Car Holster is for screwdrivers, not for L-BOXX. For L-BOXX charging, use the Wireless Charging L-BOXX Bay (sold separately).

What is the warranty on the Car Holster?

Bosch Professional tools typically come with a 2-year warranty. Check local terms or register your product for extended coverage.

The Wireless Charging System from Bosch

How it works

The technology is based on contactless energy transfer by means of induction. A magnetic alternating field is generated and emitted using a coil in the charger. The battery contains another coil which is penetrated by the magnetic alternating field. This induces a voltage and generates a current flow which is transformed into charging current.

Care Charging protects the battery

The lifetime of the battery is measured in charge cycles. Completely charging from 0% to 100% represents one charge cycle. The shorter charging sessions typically performed in Wireless Charging are only partial charges which correspond to one charge cycle when totalling 100% . Batteries with Wireless Charging technology therefore have the same lifetime as conventional batteries.

Care Charging ensures that short charging sessions do not damage the battery because the charger checks the charging state of the battery first and then selects the optimum charging mode. If the battery requires minor charging, it will be gently charged only with low current. If the battery has more than 85% capacity remaining, the charger will remain in standby mode to protect the battery.

How it works

The new Wireless Charging L-BOXX Bay with integrated charger makes it possible to charge the battery through the L-BOXX. Flexibility is a priority for us, which is why the Bay is compatible with every conventional L-BOXX 136. All you need is a special inlay to use contactless charging. Simply insert, drive and charge.

1Mount
