Frequently Asked Questions - drDock ARCAM

Which devices are compatible with the Arcam drDock?
The drDock works with iPods, iPhones, and iPads that have a 30-pin connector. It is compatible with devices like iPod classic, iPod nano, iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad.
Can I use the drDock without an Arcam receiver?
Yes, the drDock can be used standalone with any amplifier. Simply connect the audio outputs (RCA) to your amplifier or audio system. The included CR1 remote controls playback directly from the dock.
How do I connect the drDock to an Arcam Solo or AVR receiver?
Connect the drDock’s audio and optional HDMI outputs to the corresponding inputs on your Arcam receiver. For full integration (on-screen display, control via system remote), ensure the receiver is set to the correct input and enable iPod accessory in the setup menu (e.g., Solo Neo: iPod option Enabled).
Does the drDock support video output?
Yes, the drDock has an optional HDMI output for video playback from your iPod/iPhone/iPad. Connect it to your TV or receiver to watch videos on the big screen.
How do I sync my iPod with iTunes using the drDock?
To sync, connect the drDock’s USB port to your computer. Press the power button on the dock to enter sync mode. Your iPod will appear in iTunes for syncing music, playlists, and other content.
What cables are included with the drDock?
The drDock comes with a power adaptor (with interchangeable plugs for EU, UK, US), audio interconnects (RCA), and a video cable (HDMI). A USB cable is also provided for computer sync.
How do I set up the power adaptor?
Select the appropriate plug (EU, UK, or US) and snap it onto the adaptor. Plug the adaptor into a wall outlet, then connect the DC plug to the drDock’s power input. Ensure the voltage matches your local mains (100-240V AC).
Can I control the drDock from the front panel?
Yes, the drDock has front-panel buttons for basic navigation (menu, play/pause, skip). However, for full control, use the included CR1 remote or an Arcam system remote (if connected to a compatible receiver).
What should I do if the drDock is not recognized by my computer?
Ensure the USB cable is firmly connected. Press the power button on the dock to activate sync mode (the dock should power on). If using Windows, check that iTunes is installed. On Mac, the device should appear automatically. Try a different USB port or cable if needed.
Is there a on-screen display for song selection?
When connected to a compatible Arcam receiver (AVR360/400/600/888), the drDock provides an on-screen display showing menus for artists, albums, songs, etc. Use the receiver’s remote or navigation keys to browse and select music.
