How do I manually open the valve?

Turn the bleed screw (usually located on top of the solenoid) counterclockwise to manually bleed water and open the valve. Ensure you close it fully after use.

Can this valve be installed underground?

Yes, the valve is designed for direct burial in an irrigation system, provided it is placed in a gravel sump or valve box for access.

What is the correct voltage for the solenoid?

The solenoid operates on 24 VAC at 50/60 Hz. Using a different voltage may damage the coil.

How do I clean or replace the diaphragm?

Turn off water, remove the solenoid and bonnet (top cover) to access the diaphragm. Clean or replace with the Diaphragm Kit (model 2400DK). Reassemble in reverse order.

What is the maximum flow rate?

The valve supports flow rates up to 20 L/min (5.3 GPM) at optimal pressure.

Why does the valve not close completely?

Possible causes: debris in the diaphragm, worn diaphragm, or low pressure. Clean the diaphragm and check pressure between 1.5-10.5 bar.

How do I adjust the flow rate?

Flow adjustment can be done by turning the solenoid or the bleed screw; turning clockwise restricts flow, counterclockwise increases it.

Is this valve compatible with all Irritrol controllers?

Yes, the 2400DK-1-MF uses a standard 24 VAC solenoid and fits most Irritrol and other brand controllers.

Installation Procedure

CAUTION: When assembling the drip zone valve kit components, use just 1 12 to 2 turns of PTFE tape on male threads. Never use pipe dope. To achieve a leak-free thread connection, turn the male fitting until it is finger-tight, and then add one or two more turns. Over-tightening can cause splitting and failure of the female threads.

⚠️ Important: Ensure the Y-filter, control valve and pressure regulator are installed in the correct flow orientation. Flow direction arrows are provided on each component. Refer to Figure 1.

1. Thread the Y-filter inlet into the valve outlet with the provided 1" x 3/4" NPT reducer bushing. Use PTFE tape on all threaded connections. Angle the Y-filter slightly downward as shown in Figure 1.
2. Thread the pressure regulator inlet into the Y-filter outlet.
3. Connect the water source supply line and piping to drip emitters.

NOTE: Installing the valve assembly below grade in a valve box is recommended for protection and ease of service.

NOTE: Refer to the 2500TF Series Valve Instruction Guide provided in the kit for complete valve installation and operation information.

NOTE: To adapt the Drip Zone Valve Kit for dripline applications, install the provided 3/4" MPT x 1/2" Slip fitting and CA-710 dripline compression adapter to the pressure regulator outlet.
