What is the Jamo WA-2?

The WA-2 is a wireless subwoofer kit that transmits audio signals from a receiver to a compatible subwoofer via 2.4 GHz. It consists of a transmitter and a receiver.

How do I set up the WA-2?

Connect the supplied audio cable from your receiver's subwoofer output to the transmitter's input. Connect the receiver to the subwoofer's WA Port using the 4-pin cable. Plug in the power supply for the transmitter. Ensure the gain switch is at 0 dB, turn on the receiver and subwoofer, and the units should pair automatically.

What should I do if the red LEDs are flashing?

Flashing LEDs indicate the transmitter and receiver are not paired. Press and hold the pairing buttons (F on transmitter, G on receiver) for about 5 seconds until both LEDs glow solid.

What is the maximum range of the WA-2?

The WA-2 can transmit up to 50 feet (15 meters) in an open area. Obstacles and interference from other wireless devices may reduce the range.

Can I use the WA-2 with any subwoofer?

No, the WA-2 is only compatible with subwoofers that have a WA Port input. This includes select models from Klipsch, Energy, Mirage, and Jamo.

How do I adjust the gain/volume?

Use the gain switch (A) on the transmitter. It has three positions: -12 dB (reduce signal), 0 dB (normal), and +12 dB (boost signal). Start at 0 dB and adjust if needed.

What if I get no sound or low volume from the subwoofer?

Check that the subwoofer output level on your receiver is set correctly (usually at 0 dB). Also ensure the subwoofer's volume is turned up. If still low, move the gain switch to +12 dB to increase signal strength.

Can the WA-2 be affected by interference?

Yes, as a wireless device, it may experience RF interference from other 2.4 GHz devices like Wi-Fi routers or cordless phones. Try moving the transmitter and receiver closer together or away from other electronics.

How do I clean the WA-2 components?

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS!

1. READ these instructions.

7. DO NOT block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
8. DO NOT install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
9. DO NOT defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wider blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
10. PROTECT the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
11. ONLY USE attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
12. USE only with a cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.

WIRELESS TRANSMITTER COMPLIANCE INFORMATION:

The term “IC:” before the radio certification number only signifies that Industry Canada technical specifications were met. The WA-2 will only operate with select Klipsch, Energy, Mirage and Jamo brand subwoofers that have a "WA Port" input. The WA-2 is a 2.4 GHz product designed to wirelessly transmit a signal up to a 50 foot radius.

Setup:

1. Decide where the subwoofer will go (refer to your subwoofer owner's manual).
2. Most receivers (and pre-amplifiers) have a line level subwoofer output labeled Subwoofer Pre Out, Sub Out, SW Out, etc. If you have this, connect one end of the supplied audio cable to it and connect the other end of the cable into WA-2 transmitter input 'C'. In absence of a subwoofer output connect Left and Right channel Pre-Amp outputs from your receiver (if provided) to 'C' and 'B' inputs on the transmitter.
3. Connect the cable from the WA-2 receiver to the "WA Port" on the back of the subwoofer. Carefully match the 4 pins of the cable to the corresponding 4 holes on the WA Port and gently push in until connected. Improper pin alignment can result in damage to the connector.

4. Plug supplied power supply cable into 'E' on the WA-2 transmitter and plug other end into an AC wall outlet.

5. Check to make sure Gain Switch 'A' is in middle position (0dB). This position best matches the output voltage of most receivers and processors.

6. Turn receiver/pre-amplifier on.
7. Turn subwoofer to "On" or "Auto On" position.
8. The WA-2 transmitter and receiver should be automatically “paired” with their red LED’s ‘D’ on solid and the subwoofer should now be operational.
9. You can use the supplied Velcro strips to attach the WA-2 receiver to the back of the subwoofer. Some subwoofers have two screws on back that the receiver attaches to.

TROUBLESHOOTING:

• If the subwoofer does not operate and the red LED's 'D' are flashing on the WA-2 transmitter and receiver, a simple "pairing" is needed. Push and hold in button 'F' on the transmitter while pushing and holding button 'G' on the receiver and keep pushed until both LED's stop flashing and glow solid (approximately 5 seconds).
• Since the WA-2 is a wireless device it may encounter RF interference from other wireless devices in the same area. If there is difficulty “pairing” the transmitter and receiver, or their signal connection “fades”, you may need to move them closer together and/or farther away from other “wireless” products.
• If you do not get a signal, or get a low signal level from the subwoofer, make sure the subwoofer out level control on your surround receiver is set correctly (usually at the halfway point sometimes labeled "0dB"). If your subwoofer out level on your surround receiver is correct, and you have adjusted the subwoofer volume level and the signal is still too low, move the gain control 'A' to the right (+12dB) to increase the signal to the subwoofer. If the signal is too high, move the gain control to the left (-12dB) to reduce signal strength.
