Frequently Asked Questions - 3119 90010 Eta

What type of cookware should I use on this hob?
Use pots and pans with a flat, ground bottom of the same diameter as the ring (145 mm or 180 mm) or up to 2 cm larger. Uneven bottoms reduce heat transfer and increase cooking time.
How do I clean the hob?
Ensure the hob is cool and unplugged. Wipe the body with a cleaner recommended for enamel/stainless surfaces. For the rings, apply a drop of oil or fat to keep them clean and shiny. Never use abrasive or corrosive detergents.
What does the indicator light mean?
The indicator light (A3) turns on when the thermostat is heating the ring. It cycles on and off as the temperature is maintained.
Why does the hob make a cracking noise?
Occasional cracking sounds are normal and due to thermal expansion of materials. This is not a defect.
Can I leave the hob unattended while cooking?
No, the product must never be operated unattended. Always unplug it if you leave the room.
What should I do if the power cord is damaged?
If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person to avoid hazard.
What are the power settings for different cooking tasks?
Settings: 1-2 for keeping warm, melting fat; 2-4 for simmering/stewing; 4-6 for frying; 6 for fast boiling. Adjust after reaching desired temperature.
Can I use the hob to heat the room?
No, never use the hob to heat rooms. It is only intended for cooking.
Is it safe for children to use?
Children aged 8+ can use it under supervision if instructed on safe use. Children must not play with it. Cleaning and maintenance must not be done by children under 8 without supervision.
How should I store the hob?
Make sure the hob is cool before storing. Keep it in a dry place, out of reach of children and incapacitated persons.

A1 – regulation knob A3 – indicator light

A2 – stove A4 – supply cord

III. PREPARATION

Remove all packaging material and remove the pan with accessories. Remove all adhesive foils, stickers or paper from the appliance. Before using the hob for the first time, set the control knob to step 3 and leave the hob with no pot on for 5 - 10 minutes. A small amount of smoke which can briefly develop is no indication of defect.

IV. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Place the cooker on a suitable surface (see paragraph I. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS). Plug the fork of the supply cord A4 in the el. outlet. Turn the cooker on by turning the regulation knob A1 to the desired position. The turning on of the thermostat (heating of the stove A2) is indicated by the indicator light A3. The higher the number set on the regulation knob, the higher the temperature on the stove. In position 6, bring the contents to boil and then turn the regulation knob to a lower position; the boil will be maintained. The degree of the boil depends on the amounts and kind of the food being cooked and on the dishes used. Turn the regulation knob to 0 (or MIN.) and unplug the appliance from the outlet after finishing the cooking.

CAUTION

For cooking, use pots and pans with flat (ground) bottom of the same diameter as that of the ring or bigger by no more than 2 centimetres. Uneven pot bottom tends to compromise the transfer of heat from the ring into the pot, causing higher power demand and longer cooking times.

  • We recommend using personal protective aids (e.g. kitchen glove) when handling.
  • When using the grill, occasional characteristic sound (cracking) may be heard due to dilatation of materials. This is absolutely normal and the appliance is not subject to a complaint for this reason.
  • Pets (e.g. exotic birds) can be sensitive to smells/odours produced during preparation of food. For this reason we recommend preparation of food in another room.

Regulation knob A1

Turn the regulation knob only between positions 0 (or MIN.) and 6. Trying to turn the regulation knob by force could cause its failure.

setting min (0)-OFF

setting 1 - 2 – keeping food warm, melting fat, defrosting food

setting 2 - 4 – keeping the food boiling, stewing

setting 4 - 6 – roasting, deep-fat frying

setting 6 – bringing the food to boiling fast

Never use abrasive or corrosive detergents. Clean the hob body with cleaners recommended for enamelled/stainless surfaces. The rings can be kept clean and shiny even after long use if treated with a drop of oil or some fat. Clean the hob regularly every time after the hob was used. If the power cord is soiled, wipe it with a wet cloth. It is normal that the surface colour changes over the time. But the change does not alter the surface properties in any way and the appliance is not subject to a complaint for this reason!

Storage
