Frequently Asked Questions - Stereo Box RS PRO-JECT

How do I connect the Stereo Box RS to my speakers?
Use speaker cables with banana plugs, spades, or bare wire (4mm diameter). Connect the red terminal to positive (+) and black to negative (-) on both amplifier and speaker. Ensure impedance is at least 4 ohms per channel.
How long does it take for the tubes to warm up?
After switching on, the tubes require a short warm-up period. The blue LED blinks during warm-up and stays solid when the unit is ready. We recommend setting volume to 0 before powering on.
How do I select the input source?
Use the small switch next to the six LEDs on the front panel. Each press cycles through inputs, and the corresponding LED lights up to indicate the selected input.
Can I connect a subwoofer to the Stereo Box RS?
Yes, connect an active subwoofer to the Sub Out RCA sockets. The subwoofer output has a fixed gain of 18 dB.
How to connect a headphone amplifier?
Use the Out Fix RCA sockets, which provide a fixed output level (0 dB). Connect these to your headphone amplifier's input.
What type of power supply does the Stereo Box RS use?
It uses an outboard power supply providing ±48V DC at 2.5A. Only use the supplied power supply; do not substitute.
How to replace the remote control battery?
Unlock and slide open the battery compartment. Replace with one CR2032 or CR2025 (3V) battery, ensuring correct polarity. Close the cover.
What is the purpose of the Pre Out (Out Variable)?
The Out Variable provides a variable output signal (gain 12 dB) for connecting a power amplifier or active speakers. Volume is controlled by the Stereo Box RS.
Why is the blue LED blinking?
The blinking blue LED indicates the tubes are warming up. When the LED stays solid, the unit is ready for use.
Can I use the Stereo Box RS with XLR inputs?
Yes, input IN 6 is an XLR balanced input. Wiring: pin 1 ground, pin 2 hot (+), pin 3 cold (-). Input impedance is 20 kohms.
