Frequently Asked Questions - Outdoor HAMA

What is the maximum power this socket can handle?
The socket can handle up to 3500 W (16 A for resistive loads, 2 A for inductive loads). Do not exceed these limits.
Is the socket waterproof?
It has an IP44 rating, meaning it is splash-proof but not waterproof. Protect it from direct rain and water jets (e.g., garden hoses). Use under eaves or in protected outdoor areas.
How do I pair the socket with the remote control?
Press and hold the LEARN button on the socket for about 3 seconds until the LED flashes. Then press the ON button for the desired channel on the remote. The LED will stop blinking once paired.
Can I use multiple sockets with one remote control?
Yes, you can assign multiple sockets to the same remote button. Just repeat the learning process for each socket with the same channel.
What should I do if the remote control does not work?
Check that the battery is inserted correctly (polarity). If the LED does not light, the remote may be defective. Contact Hama support or the retailer.
Can I connect the socket to an extension cord?
No, never connect the radio-controlled socket to an extension cable or adapter. It must be plugged directly into a permanent wall socket to prevent overheating.
How do I delete a programmed channel?
Press and hold the LEARN button until the LED flashes, then press the OFF button for the channel you want to delete.
What type of battery does the remote control use?
The manual does not specify the battery type. Typically, such remotes use a small button cell (e.g., CR2032). Check the battery compartment or refer to the product packaging.
Is the socket compatible with other brands of remote controls?
The manual states that it cannot be guaranteed that remote controls from other manufacturers will work. It is best to use Hama remote controls designed for this socket.
How do I clean the socket?
Disconnect from mains before cleaning. Use a slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or immerse in water.
