This appliance is intended for domestic use only. Use the appliance only for processing normal amounts of food and for normal amounts of time for domestic use. Do not exceed permitted maximum quantities (see “Recipes”). The appliance is only suitable for cutting or mixing/blending food. The appliance is not suitable for preparing mashed potatoes (or purées of foods with a similar consistency).

The ProPuree masher attachment should be used for this purpose. The appliance must not be used for processing other substances or objects. Additional applications are possible if the accessories approved by the manufacturer are used. Only use the appliance with approved genuine parts and accessories. Never use the ­accessory parts for other appliances. Only use the appliance indoors at room temperature and up to 2000 m above sea level.

Important safety information

Read and follow the operating instructions carefully and keep for later reference! Enclose these instructions when you give this appliance to someone else. If the instructions for correct use of the appliance are not observed, the manufacturer’s liability for any resulting damage will be excluded.

This appliance can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved. Keep children away from the appliance and connecting cable and do not allow them to use the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children. W Danger of electric shock and fire! ■ Connect and operate the appliance only in accordance with the specifications on the rating plate. Use only if power cord and appliance show no signs of damage. To avoid potential hazards, repairs such as replacing a damaged cable must only be carried out by our customer service personnel. ■ Never connect the appliance to timer switches or remote-­ controllable sockets. Never leave the appliance unattended while it is switched on! ■ Do not place the appliance on or near hot surfaces, e.g. hobs. The power cord must not come into contact with hot parts or be pulled across sharp edges. 10

■ Never immerse the base unit in liquids or hold under running water and do not clean in the dishwasher. Do not steam-clean the appliance. Do not use the ­appliance with damp hands.

■ If your appliance falls in water or some other liquid, then it is not allowed to use the appliance anymore. ■ Only immerse the blender foot into the food as far as the marking Í or there will be a risk of electric shock! ■ After each use, whenever the appliance is unsupervised, prior to assembly, prior to disassembly, prior to cleaning and in the event of an error, the appliance must always be disconnected from the mains. W Risk of injury! ■ Before replacing accessories or additional parts which move during operation, the appliance must be switched off and disconnected from the power supply. ■ After switching off, the drive continues running for a short time. Wait until the drive has come to a standstill. ■ Never grip the blade in the blender foot. Never clean the blade in the blender foot with bare hands. W Risk of scalding! Take care when processing hot food. Hot food may splash during processing. W Risk of suffocation! Do not allow children to play with packaging material. W Attention! ■ We recommend that the appliance is never switched on for longer than is necessary to process the ingredients. Do not operate at no-load. ■ The blender jug is not suitable for use in the microwave. ■ Never place blender foot on hot surfaces or use in very hot food. Leave boiling food to cool down to at least 80°C before processing. Before using the hand blender in a cooking pot, take the pot off the hotplate. W Important! Before using the appliance for the first time

Before the new appliance can be used, it must be fully unpacked, cleaned and checked.

Never operate a damaged appliance! ■ Remove the base unit and all accessories from the packaging and dispose of all packing materials. ■ Check that all the parts are present and examine them for obvious damage. Follow the instructions in the operating instructions. Marking on blender foot: Only immerse the blender foot into the food as far as the marking Í or there will be a risk of electric shock!

For continuous speed adjustment. Set the rotary selector between ● (lowest speed) and 12 (highest speed). Read off the selected speed on the marking Æ.

To remove the blender foot or other accessories, press both release buttons simultaneously.

Stainless steel blender foot

The blender foot is suitable for cutting and mixing mayonnaise, sauces, blended drinks, baby food, cooked fruit and cooked vegetables, and for pureeing soups.

Take care when processing hot food. Hot food may splash during processing. Leave boiling food to cool down to 80 °C or less before processing. W Risk of injury! After switching off the appliance, wait for the blade in the blender foot to come to a standstill. Never grip the blade in the blender foot.

– The blender foot must be securely connected to the base unit. The blender foot must not wobble or fall off. – Solid foods such as apples, potatoes and meat always must be cut up and cooked until soft before processing. Use the universal cutter for cutting/chopping raw food (onions, garlic, herbs, etc.). – The bottom of the receptacle you use must not have any bumps or steps in it. X Image sequence B 1. Place the prepared food in the blender jug or another suitable receptacle or process in the pan used for cooking. 2. Completely unwind the power cord. 3. Hold the base unit securely, fit the blender foot onto the base unit and press until it clicks into position. 4. Set the desired speed with the speed control dial. Plug the mains plug into the mains. 5. Hold the receptacle with one hand and immerse the blender foot. W Risk of electric shock! Only immerse the blender foot into the food as far as the marking Í or there will be a risk of electric shock! 6. To start processing with the preselected speed, press the On button Ã. 7. To start processing with the highest speed, press the Turbo button Ã. Caution! Never press the On button à and the Turbo button  at the same time. 8. The appliance remains switched on as long as the button is pressed. Process the food with the blender foot. 9. Release the button when the desired consistency is reached. Wait until the drive comes to a standstill. Disconnect the mains plug. 10. Hold down both release buttons and remove the blender foot. 11. Clean all parts immediately after use. Care and daily cleaning

– To prevent splashing, fully immerse the blender blade in the ingredients before switching on the appliance. – With liquid foodstuffs, immerse the blender foot and hold it at a slight angle for better blending results and to prevent the ingredients from sticking to the bottom of the receptacle.

■ Clean the blender foot in the dishwasher in an upright position (blender blade pointing up) or clean with a brush under running water.

■ Dry the blender foot in an upright position (blender blade face up) so that any trapped water can run out.

Care and daily cleaning

The appliance and the tools used must be thoroughly cleaned after each use.

W Risk of electric shock! – Unplug the appliance before cleaning it. – Never immerse the base unit in liquids and do not clean in the dishwasher. – Do not steam-clean the appliance. Caution! – Do not use any cleaning agents containing alcohol or spirits. – Do not use any sharp, pointed or metal objects. – Do not use abrasive cloths or cleaning agents. – Do not wedge plastic parts in the dishwasher as they could become permanently deformed. Please note: – To make it easier to clean the blender foot, after use place it in a receptacle containing clean water and briefly press the Turbo button  several times. – When processing food such as red cabbage or carrots, plastic parts may become discoloured. This can be removed with a few drops of cooking oil. In Fig. C you will find a summary of how to clean the individual parts. ■ Disconnect the base unit and the accessory parts from one another. ■ Wipe the outside of the base unit with a soft, damp cloth and dry off. ■ Clean the accessory parts with a detergent solution and a soft cloth or sponge or place them in the dishwasher. 14

– 1 egg (egg yolk and egg white) – 1 tbs. mustard – 1 tbs. lemon juice or vinegar – 200-250 ml oil – Salt and pepper to taste Ingredients must be at the same temperature! ■ Put all ingredients in a jug. ■ Place the blender foot on the base of the jug and blend until the mixture emulsifies. ■ Slowly raise the switched on blender as far as the upper edge of the mixture and lower again until the mayonnaise is ready. Tip: According to this recipe you can also make mayonnaise with egg yolk only. However, use only half the amount of oil.

200 g carrots 1 small stick of celery 2 tomatoes 1 onion 50 g butter 2 l water Salt and pepper to taste Skin and seed the tomatoes. Chop up cleaned and washed vegetables and sauté in hot butter. Add water and salt. Allow to boil for 20-25 minutes. Take the pot off the cooker. Blend the soup in the pot to the desired consistency. Season with salt and pepper.

1 egg 100 g flour 25 g melted, cooled butter Put all ingredients in a jug in the ­indicated sequence. ■ Blend to a smooth dough.

6 large strawberries or 10 raspberries or 1 banana (sliced) ■ Put all ingredients in a jug. ■ Blend to the desired consistency. ■ Sugar according to taste.

Tip: Add a scoop of ice cream or use very cold milk.

Problem Appliance switches off during use. Remedy The overload protection device has been activated. ■ Disconnect the mains plug. ■ Leave the appliance to cool down for approx. 1 hour in order to deactivate the overload protection device. ■ Plug the mains plug into the mains. Switch the appliance on again.
