Please read the use instructions carefully and thoroughly before using the appliance. Braun Silk-épil Xelle Easy Start has been designed to make the removal of unwanted hair as efficient, gentle and easy as possible. ts proven epilation system removes hair at the root, leaving your skin smooth for weeks. As the hair that re- gros is fine and soft, there will be no more stubble. The epilation head @ features 40 tweezers that are uniquely arranged to remove more hair in a single stroke, for unprecedented efficiency. The SofiLift'" tips integrated in the epilation head make sure that even Short hairs (0.5 mm) and flat lying hairs are removed thoroughly at the root. It comes with two different clips: @ The massaging rollers clip makes the epilation ultra gentle. Its pulsating movement stimulates and relaxes the Skin to offset the pulling sensation. ® The EfficiencyPro clip provides a thorough epilation that is now even faster. It ensures maximum skin contact at the optimum usage position thus enabling more effective hair removal. The SmartLight incorporated in the switoh reproduces an almost daylight condition, thus revealing even the finest hairs and giving you more control for improved épilation efficiency. If you have not used an epilator before, or if You have not epilated for a longer period of time, it may take a short while for your Skin to adapt to epilation. The discomtort experienced at fist is considerably reduced with repeated use as the number of hair to be removed decreases over time and as the skin adjusts to the process. The Braun Silk-épil Xelle Easy Start has been specially designed to make your Start in epilation easy as it gentiy helps your skin in the adjustment phase. + The starter epilation head @ has been developed especially for the first few epilations, when skin is not yet used to the process and also for sensitive skin. Compared to the standard epilation head it has fewer tweezers that are further apart, pulling out less hair simul- taneously. This makes the process much gentier and helps your skin adjust to épilation, but wil take a bit longer than with the standard epilation head. General information on epilation All methods of hair removal at the root can lead to in-growing hair and irritation (e.g. itching, discomtort or reddening of the skin), depending on the condition of the Skin and hair. This is a normal reaction and should quicky disappear, but may be stronger when you are removing hair at the root for the first few times or if you have sensitive skin. eo ® i Î

In general, the skin reaction and the sen- sation of pain tend to diminish consider- ably with the repeated use of Silk-épil. In some cases inflammation of the skin could ocœur when bacteria penetrate the skin (e.g. when sliding the appliance over the skin). Thorough cleaning of the épilation head before each use will mini- mise the risk of infection. If you have any doubts about using this appliance, please consult your physician. In the following cases, this appliance Should only be used after prior consul- tation with a physician: —_eczema, wounds, inflamed skin reactions such as folliculitis (purulent hair follicles) and varicose veins. around moles — reduced immunity of the skin, e.g. diabetes mellitus, during pregnancy, Raynaud's disease haemophilia or immune deficiency. Some useful tips Epilation is easier and more comfortable when the hair is at the optimal length of 2-5 mm (0.08-0.2 in). If hairs are longer, we recommend to pre-cut to this length. When epilating for the first time, it is advis- able to epilate in the evening, so that any possible reddening can disappear over-night. To relax the skin we recom- mend applying a moisture cream after epilation. Fine hair which re-grows might not grow up to the skin surface. The regular use of massage sponges (e.g. after showering) or exfoliation peelings helps to prevent in-growing hair as the gentle scrubbing action removes the upper skin layer and fine hair can get through to the skin surface.

Optional skin cooling: For the first few epilations or if you have sensitive skin you can use the cooling application, recom- mended by dermatologists to help reduce possible skin irritation. + Ensure that the gel pack has been in the deep freezer (*) for at least 2 hours {for convenience you can store the gel pack in the freezer). Insert the gel pack underneath the glove's transparent foil, Use only with glove. Put transparent (cool) side of the glove on your leg. Start cooling for approx. 1/2 minute, longer if needed. Epilate the cooled skin area immedi- ately as demonstrated in section «C». Repeat cooling and epilating until complete. While epilating, please ensure your skin is dry.

Important: Do not apply cooling glove to same area for more than 2 minutes.

Do not use if you are hypersensitive, allergic to the cold, or if your skin suffers from sensory disturb- ances, or if you suffer from cardiac diseases or arterial circulatory disorders. Preparing the epilator + Before starting off, thoroughly clean the epilation head you want to use (2) or &). + To remove the epilation head, press the release buttons @) on the left and right and pul it off + Click the desired head into place: - Choose the starter epilation head @ if you are epilating for the first time or if you have very sensitive skin. - Once your skin is used to epilation, you may switch to the standard epilation head & which allows a more efficient and faster epilation thanks to its greater number of tweezers. + Plug the cord connector ® into the socket () and plug the special cord set @into an electrical outlet. C How to epilate Make sure one of the clips @ or ® is attached to the epilation head. To turn on the epilator, slide switch @) to the «optimal» setting. For reduced speed, choose the «soft» setting. The SmartLight iluminates as long as the epilator is switched on.

Rub your skin to lift short haîrs. For optimum performance hold the ap- pliance at a right angle (80°) against your skin. Guide it in a slow, continuous movement without pressure against the hair growth, in the direction of the switch. As hair can grow in different directions, it may also be helpful to guide the appliance in different directions to achieve optimum results. Both rollers of the massaging rollers clip @ should always be kept in contact with the skin, allowing the pulsating movements to stimulate and relax the skin for a gentler epilation. Ifyou epilate often and are looking for a faster way to efficientiy remove hair, attach the EfficiencyPro clip @. It ensures maximum Skin contact at the optimum usage position. 3 Leg epilation Epilate your legs from the lower leg in an upward direction. When epilating behind the knee, keep the leg stretched out straight. 4 Underarm and bikini line epilation Use tests monitored by dermatolo- gists have revealed that you can also epilate the underarm and the bikini line. Please be aware that these areas are particularly sensitive to pain. With repeated usage the pain sensation will diminish. Before epilating, thoroughly clean the respective area to remove residue (like deodorant). Then carefully dab dry with a towel. When epilating the underarm, keep your arm raised up and guide the appliance in different directions. Cleaning the epilation heads 5 After epilating, unplug the epilator and clean the epilation head. First remove. the clip used (3 or ) and clean it with the brush. To clean the tweezer element, dip the cleaning brush in alcohol. Clean the tweezers with the brush from the rear side of the epilator head while tuning the barrel manually. Remove the epilation head by pressing the release buttons @ on the left and right and pull it off.
