KOCHNESS MONSTER SUPREME

Mythical sonic powers rising from the Depths!

"The Koch Ness Monster Supreme, is like having access to all the colors on the easel so that I can pick and choose which glorious hues to use to create a deranged portrait of sonic malfeasance!"
-Greg Koch
The Koch Ness Monsters
represent the culmination of a 15-year collaboration between the legendary Greg Koch and JAM pedals, rooted in mutual admiration and respect for each other's craft. Together, we set out to design two ultimate multi-pedals tailored to Greg's every need—whether he's commanding the stage, capturing moments in the studio, or exploring new material.
The Koch Ness Monster
Supreme is the crown jewel of this partnership, embodying Greg's wildest pedal dreams.
Equipped with a carefully curated array of effects, this multi-pedal is designed to inspire and expand musical expression at every level.
Bringing the Koch Ness Monster
Supreme to life involved integrating innovative features and personal touches, including:
- Greg's signature Gristle King Overdrive.
- A dedicated Delay Llama mk.2, for Greg's always-on slapback delay needs.
- An enhanced Retrovibe with expanded Depth and Speed ranges, plus internal controls for brightness, LFO thickness, and output level.
- Preloaded custom presets on the Delay Llama XTREME and Harmonious Monk.
- Tap Tempo synchronization between the Delay Llama XTREME and Harmonious Monk, enabling single-tap control of both units.
SIGNAL CHAIN:
1. WAHCKO
The Wahcko is equipped with a Red Fasel inductor and a 6-position rotary switch to select the frequency sweep range. A staple in Greg's setup for years, it features an internal trimmer to adjust the input gain as well as a proprietary bufferless design which seamlessly integrates with impedance-sensitive pedals, such as germanium fuzzes, placed after the Wahcko.
2. RETROVIBE
A permanent fixture on Greg's pedalboards, this enhanced version includes expanded Depth and Speed ranges, as well as internal trimmers for brightness, LFO thickness, and output level. Also features an EXP Input to remotely control the speed using a standard 10k passive expression pedal.
3. GRISTLE KING
Greg's signature Overdrive/Boost, designed by Tim Jauernig and handcrafted by JAM pedals.
Key features include:
• GRISTLE: controls the output level.
• TONE: Set the overdrive tone.
• GRAVY: Adjust gain.
• MORE: Set the boost level.
- PRE/POST Toggle: Place the boost before or after the overdrive for different effects (e.g., additional gain or volume boost).
- FLAVOR Switch: Choose between open, throaty overdrive (top) or more compressed tones (bottom).
• PHAT Switch: Boosts low-end response (bottom).
- MORE Footswitch: Activates the independent boost.
4. EUREKA!
A unique fuzz inspired by the best traits of Muff and Face-style pedals. Features:
• Controls: Level, Tone, Gain.
• 3-Way Toggle Switch: Adjust bass response.
5. LUCYDREAMER
A Dry/Wet Overdrive with a second footswitch for high-gain mode.
Features:
Controls: Level, Gain, Tone, and Dry/Wet Mix.
Internal Trimmer: Adjust the output level for high-gain mode.
6. SEND/RETURN FX LOOP
Place additional pedals between the Lucydreamer and Boomster.
7. BOOMSTER
A supreme Buffer/Booster with three selectable voices.
Controls:
- Level
• Voice Selection toggle:
o Top (-): Attenuates high-end (adjustable via internal trimmer).
o Middle: Flat, full-range response.
o Bottom (+): Boosts mids (adjustable via internal trimmer).
- BUFFER Toggle: Engage or disengage the buffer.
- EXP Input: Use a standard 10k passive expression pedal to control the level, effectively transforming it into a volume pedal.
8. WATERFALL
An all-analog BBD Chorus/Vibrato
which Greg also uses to cover his rotary speaker-like effect needs, with controls for Depth, Speed, a Chorus/Vibrato toggle and a LFO Intensity toggle.
9. HARMONIOUS MONK
A Harmonic/Amplitude Tremolo designed with That Pedal Show.
Key features:
• Controls: Depth, Speed, Level, Dry/Wet Mix
- Toggle Switches:
o Tremolo Mode (Harmonic/
o Amplitude).
o LFO Shape (Square/Sine/
- Reverse Sawtooth).
o TAP Tempo Subdivisions.
- Tap and Ramp Mode: Preselected and fine-tuned to Greg's preferences.
10. DELAY LLAMA MK.2
A no-frills 600ms Analog Delay revived for Greg's slapback needs.
Features:
Controls: Time, Repeats, Level. Internal Trimmer: Adjust maximum repeats.
11. DELAY LLAMA XTREME
A powerful descendant of the Delay Llama, featuring:
• 4 Custom Presets: Designed by Greg for his go-to delays.
- Save Your Own Settings: Modify and save delays with or without modulation. Performing a factory reset will restore Greg's presets.
- SYNC Toggle: Sync the TAP tempo with the Harmonious Monk for unified control. When SYNC is active, the Harmonious Monk's LED blinks once to confirm tempo synchronization, then turns off.
