USER MANUAL SA Cockpit (microphone Zen) System Audio
User Guide for Zen Microphone in SA Cockpit / Room Service
1. Before you start
To carry out room correction with the Zen microphone, you need the following:
- SA Cockpit app
- Zen microphone (Android users must use the Zen microphone instead of the phone's built-in microphone)
• Hub (Stereo Hub, Stereo Hub HT or Surround Hub) - Your WiFi network (2.4 GHz – important!)
• A quiet room for the measurement
The room correction takes approx. 1 minute but can be stopped after 30 seconds in rooms smaller than 20 m2 .
2. Unpacking Zen microphone
In the box you will find:
- 1 × Zen microphone
- 1 × Power cable
Microphone layout:
- Button (power on/off, start recording, reset)
- Power connector
• LED - FRONT / BOTTOM
- Reset hole
LED indicators
• Green (solid): Powered on / fully charged
• Red (solid): Recording / charging
• Red (blinking): <20% battery
- White (fast blinking): Ready for configuration
• White (slow blinking): Searching for network
• LED off: Powered off
3. First setup: charge and power on the microphone
- Connect Zen microphone to power and charge it.
- Power on the device with a short press on the button.
- Zen now enters Bluetooth setup mode (fast white blinking).
4. Connect Zen microphone to the app
- Open SA Cockpit.
- Select your hub.

- Go to Room Service / Room Correction.
- The app will now search for the Zen microphone via Bluetooth.
- Select "Zen" when it appears.
Bluetooth is only used for setup.
5. Connect the Zen microphone to WiFi (2.4 GHz – important!)
The Zen microphone only supports 2.4 GHz WiFi.
- The app shows a list of available WiFi networks
- Select your 2.4 GHz SSID
- Enter the password
- Wait for the microphone to connect (LED blinking → solid)

When everything is ready, Zen switches to normal operation (LED green or red, depending on recording status).
6. Start room correction in SA Cockpit
- In Room Service, the button Start Measurement / BEGIN is shown
- Tap Start Measurement
- When the app shows "BEGIN", briefly press the button on the Zen microphone to start recording
Zen now measures the room's acoustics.
7. How to perform the measurement correctly (Zen version)
The measurement method is identical to phone-based Room Service, but performed with Zen in hand:
√ Walk slowly around the entire room
– calm circles, covering the full area
√ Move the microphone up and down
– from waist height to above head level
√ Move all the way into corners and along walls
- this is where the strongest room resonances occur
√ Point the microphone’s front toward the speakers
√ Avoid standing between the microphone and the speakers
√ Move calmly
- avoid sudden movements
√ Keep a minimum distance of 1.5 meters from all speakers during the entire measurement
Duration:
- Ideally: 60 seconds
• Minimum: 30 seconds
Zen automatically sends data to SA Cockpit via WiFi.

8. When the measurement is finished
After the measurement, the app shows:
• Red curve = room acoustics before correction
- Tap Calibrate
- The app calculates and shows a green curve = the corrected sound profile
The profile is then saved in the hub.
9. Operation and buttons
- Short press (from powered off): Power on
- Short press (powered on): Start recording (when prompted by the app)
• 2 seconds: Power off
• 10 seconds: Factory reset (LED flashes white)
• Auto power off: After 10 minutes without activity
10. Troubleshooting (short version)
Zen cannot connect to WiFi:
• Make sure you select 2.4 GHz
- Separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz in the router
• Use a shorter password
• WPA2 or WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode is recommended
• Use a guest network (often 2.4 GHz)
- Mesh systems: Temporarily disable 5 GHz
Zen not found in the app:
- Power cycle Zen
- Toggle Bluetooth off/on on the phone
- Remove old “Zen” in Bluetooth settings
- Move closer to the device
Reset:
- Hold the button for 10 seconds (fast white blinking)
