Frequently Asked Questions - OVATION F-95WW Chauvet Professional

How do I control the OVATION F-95WW?
You can control it via DMX, master/slave mode, or manually using the control panel and dimmer knob. It supports 1-, 2- and 3-channel DMX personalities, so you can choose the DMX mode that suits your needs.
What DMX personalities are available?
The OVATION F-95WW offers three personalities: UNO (1-channel), DOS (2-channel), and STD.P (3-channel). UNO controls only the dimmer, DOS adds fine dimmer, and STD.P adds strobe control. You can set the personality in the SET > PERS menu.
Can the OVATION F-95WW be used outdoors?
No, it is rated IP20 and is intended for indoor use only. Do not expose it to rain or moisture to avoid fire or shock hazards.
How do I replace the fuse?
Disconnect the product from power, then use a Phillips #2 screwdriver to unscrew the fuse holder cap. Replace the blown fuse with a T 3.15 A, 250 V fuse of the same type and rating, then screw the cap back on and reconnect power.
How many units can I power link?
You can power link up to 15 units at 120 V, 25 units at 208 V, or 28 units at 230 V. This is based on the power linking current ratings.
How do I clean the OVATION F-95WW?
Unplug the product and wait until it reaches room temperature. Use a vacuum or dry compressed air to remove dust from vents, then clean external surfaces with a mild non-ammonia glass cleaner or isopropyl alcohol applied to a soft lint-free cloth. Polish lens surfaces gently until clean.
How does the control panel lock work?
You can activate the control panel lock in the KEY menu. Once activated, after 30 seconds of inactivity or at power-on, you must enter the passcode (default sequence: UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, ENTER) to access the controls. This prevents unauthorized changes.
How do I set up master/slave mode?
Configure slaves in the RUN menu with the SLAV option and connect them in a daisy chain from the master's DMX output. Set the master in the SET > MCON menu to MAST. Do not connect a DMX controller to slaves, as it may interfere.
How do I adjust the zoom?
The OVATION F-95WW has a manual zoom range from 21° to 83°. Locate the zoom adjustment knobs on either side of the fixture and turn them to increase or decrease the zoom angle.
What are the performance power output options?
In the PERF menu, you can choose LIVE (balances fan and power), STDO (limits power to maintain cooling), or POWER (allows full power while using fan). These options control LED cooling and output performance.

LEDs gradually decline in brightness over time, mostly because of heat. Packaged in clusters, LEDs exhibit higher operating temperatures than in ideal, single-LED conditions. For this reason, using clustered LEDs at their fullest intensity significantly reduces the LEDs' lifespan. Under normal conditions, this lifespan can be 90,000 to 100,000 hours. If extending this lifespan is vital, lower the operating temperature by improving the ventilation around the product and reducing the ambient temperature to an optimal operating range. In addition, limiting the overall projection intensity may also help to extend the LEDs' lifespan.

5. Technical Information

Product Maintenance

Dust build-up reduces light output performance and can cause overheating. This can lead to reduction of the light source's life and mechanical wear. To maintain optimum performance and minimize wear, clean this product at least twice a month. However, usage and environmental conditions contribute to increased cleaning frequency.

To clean your product, follow the instructions below.

  1. Unplug the product from power.
  2. Wait until the product is at room temperature.
  3. Use a vacuum (or dry compressed air) and a soft brush to remove dust collected on the external vents and components.
  4. Clean all external surfaces with a mild solution of non-ammonia glass cleaner or isopropyl alcohol.
  5. Apply the solution directly to a soft, lint-free cotton cloth or a lens cleaning tissue.
  6. Wipe any dirt or grime to the outside edges of the lens surface.
  7. Gently polish the lens surfaces until they are free of haze and lint.

Chauvet Professional OVATION F-95WW - Product Maintenance - 1

Always dry the external surfaces thoroughly and carefully after cleaning them.
