Frequently Asked Questions - C61IDGNO SAMSUNG

How do I light the oven on my Samsung C61IDGNO cooker?
To ignite the oven, push and rotate the oven control knob to the desired temperature. The electric ignition will spark; once the flame appears, hold the knob depressed for 3-5 seconds to activate the thermocouple safety device. Then release the knob.
Can I use the cooker with bottled gas (LPG)?
Yes, the cooker is supplied with LPG injectors to convert from natural gas. You must have a qualified engineer change the injectors and adjust the gas pressure according to the LPG type (butane or propane). Never attempt this yourself.
What safety devices does this cooker have?
The cooker is equipped with a flame-failure thermocouple on all burners and the oven, which automatically cuts off gas if the flame is extinguished. The oven door is triple-glazed to keep the surface cool. Some models include a child-safe knob design requiring a push-and-turn action.
What are the dimensions of the oven cavity?
The oven has a capacity of approximately 65 litres. The usable internal dimensions are roughly 590 mm wide, 400 mm deep, and 330 mm high, allowing you to fit standard European baking trays.
How do I clean the gas burners?
Remove the pan supports and burner caps while the cooker is cool. Wash them with warm soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly. To avoid clogging, use a toothpick or soft brush to clear the gas outlet holes. The pan supports are dishwasher-safe.
Why does the oven flame go out during use?
The flame can be extinguished by a draught or a low gas pressure. If the thermocouple sensor is dirty or faulty, it will not keep the gas valve open. Clean the thermocouple tip gently; if the problem persists, contact a qualified service technician.
Does the cooker require an electrical connection?
Yes, a 220-240 V power supply is needed for the electronic ignition, oven interior light, and any digital timer. The gas cooktop itself does not use electricity, but the ignition does.
Where is the model and serial number located?
The rating plate is located on the back panel of the cooker, at the lower left corner, or behind the oven door’s lower edge. Keep these numbers accessible for service requests and spare part orders.
What type of gas injectors are needed for LPG conversion?
The cooker includes a set of LPG injectors in the box. The injectors are color-coded and correspond to each burner size. For G30 (butane) they are calibrated for 28-30 mbar; for G31 (propane) for 37 mbar. Use the supplied chart to match injectors.
Are spare parts available for this model?
Yes, Samsung supports long-term spare parts availability. You can order ignition switches, thermocouples, burner rings, pan support, oven door hinges and gaskets through regional service centers or online parts stores.

SAMSUNG C61IDGNO - Initial cleaning - 1

Important: Do not use caustic or abrasive cleaners. The surface could be damaged.

Hob Use

The principle of induction

The system of cooking by induction is based on the physical phenomenon of magnetic induction. The fundamental feature of this system is direct transfer of heat energy from the generator to the pan without intermediate means (different from traditional cooker tops see fig.1).

Advantages

If you compare your electric cooker tops, with the induction cooker top, the result will be:

  • Safer: low temperature on the glass surface.
  • Quicker: brief heating times.
  • More precise: the top reacts immediately to your commands.
  • More efficient: 90% of the energy absorbed is transformed into heat.

Cookware (Fig.9)

Cooking by induction uses magnetism to generate heat. The vessels must therefore contain iron. Check if the vessel material is magnetic using a magnet..

SAMSUNG C61IDGNO - Cookware (Fig.9) - 1

Important:

To prevent permanent damage to the cooker surface, do not use:

  • Pans with bases that are not perfectly flat..
  • Metal pans with enamelled bases.
  • Do not use pans made of cast iron or with rough bases or burrs, as they may scratch the hob's surface
  • Pots with aluminium or copper bases can cause metallic discolouration on the ceramic glass surface. The discolouration is very difficult or impossible to remove.
  • For best results use pans of the same diameter as the induction plate, so that they can be recognised by the magnetic sensor.

Important: Cleaning agents must not come into contact with a heated ceramic glass surface. All cleaning agents must be removed with adequate amounts of clean water after cleaning because they can have a caustic effect when the surface becomes hot. Do not use any aggressive cleaners such as grill or oven sprays, scouring pads or abrasive pan cleaners.

Clean the ceramic glass surface after each use when it is still warm to the touch. This will prevent spillage from becoming burnt onto the surface. Remove scales, watermarks, fat drippings and metallic discolouration with the use of a commercially available ceramic glass or stainless steel cleaner.

Light Soiling

Clean the heated area as thoroughly as possible using SIDOL, STAHLFIX or similar products and a cloth/paper, then rinse with water and dry with a clean cloth.

Stubborn Soiling

Using the special scraper (optional) immediately remove any fragments of aluminium and plastic material that have unintentionally melted on the heated cooking area or residues of sugar or food with a high sugar content(Fig.11). In this way, any damage to the cooktop surface is prevented.
