USER MANUAL VIS-LG Ruggard

Thank you for choosing Ruggard.

The Ruggard Camera Saddle is an essential component for your video rig that allows versatility and stress-free shooting. This malleable saddle molds to your equipment and most support surfaces, allowing you to rest your camera on top, and place the saddle on the ground, on a rock, or in a car. The inside is filled with polyester beads and the outside is a waterproof canvas with industrial-strength stitching, making the saddle lightweight and durable. A padded shoulder strap provides long hours of comfortable wear as you shoot video with your camera resting on the saddle or with the saddle under your arm for support. Carry the saddle with you as an alternative to using and carrying a tripod all day.

Warning! Using the Camera Saddle with a car or moving support is at the risk of the operator. Not safely securing the saddle and your camera properly may result in property damage or serious injury to you or others.

Camera Placement Ruggard

The Ruggard Camera Saddle allows you to position your camera in a variety of ways with the saddle molding to the shape of your camera and support structures. Sling the saddle over your shoulder and neck, resting your camera on it to alleviate stress when recording on long video shoots. From this position, capture movement by simply twisting your body while holding the camera, and the saddle will help stabilize the shot. Place the saddle on the ground or on a rock instead of using a tripod. Secure the saddle to a static object like a ladder or tree with the tie-down loops and quick straps to achieve an alternate shooting angle.

Securing the Saddle to a Moving Support

Capture dynamic shots by securing the Camera Saddle to a moving support like a car, bike, or dolly. This diagram shows the four stirrups positioned at the corners of a car's hood and doors with alternative attachment points on the bumpers and wheel wells. It is advisable to use all four stirrups on the vehicle.

Quick strap through interior

The 27 foot long rope is applied in an X-shaped configuration with the rope and stirrups when tying down the saddle and camera, as shown in the diagram.

Three knots are recommended: the Bowline knot at position 1, the Trucker's Hitch at position 2, position 3 is a pass through, and another Trucker's Hitch at position 4 as well as two tie-down knots.

Note: Use the saddle's shoulder strap for additional tie-down security with the camera.

The anchor straps are used as internal tie-off points inside of the car at fixed positions to secure the saddle with the rope or straps. Place the anchors in the cracks of the door with the sturdy plastic head on the outside and the thick webbing on the inside.

Detachable Zipper Pull

The zipper is not attached by default to prevent the polyester bead compartment from being accidentally pulled open during use. Remove or add beads to increase or decrease the saddle's rigidity.
