When you press the Popcorn button and then Start on the Salton MW-2047 microwave, the 2 beeps you hear are normal audible confirmation signals from the microwave. They simply indicate that the device has successfully registered your command and that the popcorn function has been activated.

This is completely normal behavior and does not indicate a problem. These confirmation beeps are designed to assure you that your action has been acknowledged before cooking begins.

If cooking starts normally after the 2 beeps: everything is functioning correctly; it’s just the device confirming the start of the program.

If the microwave does not start after the beeps: check that the door is properly closed, as the microwave cannot cook if the door is not completely latched.

If your Salton MW-2047 has power but refuses to start cooking, here are the checks to perform:

Check the door closure

The microwave can only start if the door is properly closed. Make sure that:

• The door closes completely with a distinct, sharp click
• The door hooks or latches (on each side) engage properly
• No object is preventing complete closure

Check the cooking settings

Make sure you have programmed the device correctly:

• Enter the desired cooking time (in minutes and seconds)
• Select the power level, if there are options available
• Press firmly on the START button after setting the parameters

Check the child lock

Check that the child lock function is not activated, as it would block the start. Refer to your manual instructions to disable this feature if necessary.

If the problem persists

If the door closes properly, the settings are correct, and the device still refuses to start, this may indicate an internal problem (faulty door switch, electronic component, etc.). In this case, the microwave would need professional repair.

Preliminary Checks

Power Supply: Check that the microwave is properly plugged into a functional outlet. Test the outlet by plugging in another device (lamp, radio). If the outlet does not work, check the circuit breaker in the electrical panel and reset it if it is tripped.
