Frequently Asked Questions - JE250 BLACK & DECKER

How do I assemble the Black & Decker JE250 juicer?
Place the motor base on a flat surface. Align the pulp container and juice jug, then attach the strainer and lid. Ensure the safety lock arm is engaged before operating.
Can I juice soft fruits like strawberries or bananas?
Soft fruits can be juiced, but they produce more pulp. For best results, alternate with firmer fruits. Bananas are not recommended as they create a thick puree, not juice.
How do I clean the juicer after use?
Unplug and disassemble. Rinse parts immediately. Most parts (except motor base) are dishwasher safe on the top rack. Use the cleaning brush to remove pulp from the strainer.
Why is the juicer vibrating excessively?
Ensure the juicer is on a level, stable surface. Also check that the pulp container and juice jug are properly positioned. Uneven load can cause vibration.
What is the maximum ingredient size for the feed chute?
The feed chute diameter is 3 inches (76 mm). Cut fruits and vegetables into pieces that fit easily. Do not force large items.
Can I juice leafy greens like kale or spinach?
Yes, but wrap leafy greens around firmer ingredients like carrots or celery for better extraction. Roll them into a tight bundle before feeding.
How do I store the juicer after use?
Clean and dry all parts completely. Store in a dry place with the cord wrapped around the base. Keep the juicer out of reach of children.
What does the safety lock arm do?
The safety lock arm ensures the lid is securely closed before the motor can start. Never attempt to operate the juicer with the arm unlocked.
How do I reduce foam in the juice?
Foam is natural due to aeration. Stir the juice or let it sit for a minute. Using a strainer can help reduce foam.
Can I juice frozen fruits?
Partially thawed frozen fruits can be juiced, but do not use completely frozen pieces as they can damage the motor. Thaw for a few minutes first.
