Frequently Asked Questions - DC 1050 BENQ
How do I transfer photos to my computer?
Connect the camera to your computer using the supplied USB cable. The camera should be in Playback mode. Your computer will recognize it as a removable drive. Copy the photos from the DCIM folder.
What type of batteries does the DC 1050 use?
The camera uses two AA batteries. For best performance, use NiMH rechargeable batteries. Alkaline batteries are also compatible but have shorter life.
Why are my pictures blurry?
Blurry images can be caused by camera shake in low light or slow shutter speed. Use a tripod or enable the image stabilization feature if available. Ensure the subject is in focus by pressing the shutter halfway.
How can I reset the camera to factory settings?
Go to the Setup menu and select Reset or Factory Default. Confirm the action. This will erase all custom settings but not your photos.
What memory card does the DC 1050 support?
The camera supports SD and SDHC memory cards up to 32GB. It is recommended to use Class 4 or higher for video recording.
How do I clean the lens?
Use a blower brush to remove dust. For smudges, gently wipe with a lens cleaning cloth or tissue with a drop of lens cleaner. Avoid touching the lens with fingers.
The camera won't turn on. What should I do?
Check that the batteries are inserted correctly and have enough charge. If using rechargeable batteries, try fresh ones. If the camera still does not power on, remove the batteries and wait a few minutes before reinserting.
How do I take a self-portrait?
Use the self-timer function. In shooting mode, press the self-timer button (usually a clock icon) and select a delay (2 or 10 seconds). Frame yourself, then press the shutter button and get into position.
Can I record videos?
Yes, the DC 1050 can record videos in QVGA (320x240) at 30fps. Press the Movie button (red dot) to start recording and press again to stop.
Where can I find the user manual?
The manual is included on the software CD or can be downloaded from the BenQ support website. For quick reference, the printed Quick Start Guide is also included in the box.
