Frequently Asked Questions - AU-D5D CYP

How do I connect the AU-D5D converter?
Connect the HDMI source to the input port, then connect an HDMI display to the output port. For audio extraction, plug speakers or headphones into the 3.5mm jack. Finally, power the device via the included adapter.
The device is not powering on. What should I check?
Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to the converter and a working outlet. Try a different cable or outlet. The blue power LED should illuminate when powered.
Why is there no video output?
Verify all HDMI connections are tight and the display is set to the correct input. The converter supports resolutions up to 4K@30Hz; if your source outputs beyond that, reduce resolution. Also check HDCP compatibility.
Audio is not working through the 3.5mm jack. What can I do?
Make sure the source device is outputting audio (e.g., not muted). Try a different audio cable. The converter extracts PCM, Dolby Digital, and DTS; other formats may not pass through.
Does the AU-D5D support 4K resolution?
Yes, it supports 4K Ultra HD at 30Hz (3840x2160). For 4K@60Hz or higher, consider a different model. It also supports 1080p and lower resolutions.
Does it support Dolby Atmos or DTS:X?
The converter supports Dolby Digital and DTS core formats but not object-based audio like Atmos or DTS:X. For these, use a direct HDMI connection to a compatible receiver.
What is the maximum recommended cable length?
For reliable operation, use HDMI cables up to 5 meters (16 feet) for 4K and up to 10 meters (33 feet) for 1080p. Longer cables may require a signal booster.
Is the converter plug and play?
Yes, no drivers or software installation is needed. Simply connect all cables and power on the device. It automatically configures EDID and HDCP settings.
How do I reset the AU-D5D?
Disconnect the power adapter from the converter, wait 10 seconds, then reconnect it. This will reset the device to factory defaults.
What do the LED indicators mean?
A solid blue LED indicates power is on. A green LED lights when an active HDMI signal is detected. If green is off, check source and cables.
