Projection lens

Project the display on a surface.

WARNING! Do not look directly into the projection lens or point the lens toward people or animals' eyes when the projector is on as this may cause injury to the eyes.

Focus sensor

Analyze the clarity of the projected image in order for the projector to adjust its focus automatically.

Back

Touch to go to the previous screen.

Home

• Touch to return to the HOME tab of the home screen.
• Touch and hold to use Google Search.

Menu

• Touch to get options for the current screen.
• Touch and hold to see recently used apps.

Volume up and down

Press or hold to turn the volume up or down.

Power

• Press and hold to power on, power off, or restart the Spro2.
• Press to turn off or on the screen display.
• Press twice quickly when the projector is on to automatically adjust focus.

Main microphone / Auxiliary microphone

Transmit your voice. The auxiliary microphone is useful for cancelling ambient noise.

Ventilation port

Exhaust hot air when the projector is on.

WARNING! Do not place anything near the ventilation port as this may cause internal heat accumulation. Do not place your hand near the ventilation port as this may cause injury.

Tripod receptacle

Connect a tripod (not included in the packaging).

Installing the microSDHC™ Card (Not Included)

The Spro2 must be on to install or remove a microSDHC card. unmount the microSDHC card before removing it. For more information, see Remove the microSDHC Card From the Spro2.

1. Turn the Spro2 upside down.
2. Insert the tip of the tray eject tool into the hole on the microSDHC card tray and take the tray out of the slot.

1. Place the microSDHC card on the tray as shown and carefully install the tray back.

NOTE: Some applications may require a microSDHC card to work properly if it stores certain data on it.

Therefore, it is recommended that you keep a microSDHC card installed and not to remove or replace it unnecessarily.

Charging the Battery

You should fully charge the battery before using Spro2. Out of the box the battery should have enough power for Spro2 to turn on.

WARNING! Use only ZTE-approved chargers and cables.

The use of unauthorized accessories may cause damage.

CAUTION: Do not try to remove or change the built-in rechargeable battery in the Spro2. Doing so violates the ZTE warranty policy. Contact customer service for support.

1. Plug the AC adapter into the power socket on the Spro2 and then put the plug into an electrical outlet.

1. Disconnect the adapter when the battery is fully charged.

NOTE: If the battery is extremely low, you may not be able to power on Spro2 even when it is charging. Allow Spro2 to charge longer and try again. Contact customer service if you still cannot power on Spro2 after prolonged charging.

Powering the Spro 2 On and Off

Ensure that the battery is charged.

• Press and hold the Power button to turn on the Spro2.
• To power it off, press and hold the Power button to open the options menu. Touch Power off and touch OK.

Restarting the Spro2

If the screen freezes or takes too long to respond, try pressing and holding the Power button for about 10 seconds to restart Spro2.

Waking Up the Spro2

The Spro2 automatically goes into sleep mode when it is not in use for certain time. The touch screen is turned off to save power and the keys are locked to prevent accidental operations.

You can wake up the Spro2 by following the instruction as below.

1. Press the Power button to turn the touch screen on.
2. Touch and hold any area of the screen to unlock Spro2.

NOTE: If you set an unlock pattern, a PIN or a password for the Spro2, draw the pattern, or enter the PIN/password to unlock the Spro2. For more information about setting an unlock pattern, see Protecting the Spro2 With Screen Locks.

Initial Set Up

When you first power on the Spro2 or reset it to factory settings, you need to set some settings before using it. For more information about resetting it to Factory Settings, see Backup and Reset

Touch the language field to select the language and then follow the prompts to set up Wi-Fi, Google account, Google location and other options.

Turning the Projector On and Off

WARNING! Do not look directly into the projection lens or point the lens toward people or animals' eyes when the projector is on. Doing so can cause serious injury to the eyes.

Use one of these methods to turn the projector on or off:

• When the Spro2's screen is turned on, swipe up or down using THREE fingers on the screen to turn on or off the projector.
• Drag the status bar down from the top of the screen and touch Projector on the top of the notification panel.
• From the HOME tab of the home screen, touch the round button on the Projector widget.
• From the SETTINGS tab of the home screen, touch Projector > Control and then touch the switch next to Projector in the Projector settings screen.

NOTE: For best results, project onto a non-reflective white flat display surface at a 90° angle to Spro2's touch screen. The projection distance of Spro2 is about 3 to 12 feet.

Adjusting the Projection

When the projector is on, you can adjust projection focus, keystone distortion, projection brightness, and projection color.

To adjust projection focus:

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > Projector > Image.
2. In the Focus section, turn on automatic focus or touch “+” and “-” to make manual adjustment.

NOTE: Press the Power button twice quickly to adjust projection focus automatically.

To adjust keystone distortion:

Adjust keystone distortion to correct image during a tilted projection.

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > Projector > Image.
2. In the Keystone section, turn on automatic adjustment or touch “+” and “-” to make manual adjustment.

To adjust projection brightness:

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > Projector > Image.
2. In the Brightness section, select the brightness level.

To adjust projection color:

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > Projector > Image.
2. In the Color correction section, select a color effect you like.

Using the Touch Screen

Use the Spro2's touch screen to control actions through a variety of touch gestures.

- Touch

To type using the onscreen keyboard, or select items on the screen such as onscreen buttons, applications and settings icons, touch them with your finger.

- Touch and Hold

To open available options, for example a link in a Web page, touch and hold the link.

- Swipe or Slide

To swipe or slide means to quickly drag your finger vertically or horizontally across the screen.

- Drag

To drag, press and hold your finger with some pressure before moving your finger. While dragging, do not release your finger until you reach the target position.

- Pinch

In some apps (such as Maps, web browser, and Gallery), you can zoom in and out by placing two fingers on the screen at once and pinching them together (to zoom out) or spreading them apart (to zoom in).

- Rotate the screen

In some screens, you can automatically change the screen orientation from landscape to portrait by turning Spro2 sideways.

NOTE: To automatically change the screen orientation, select the Auto-rotate screen check box. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Device > Display > Auto-rotate screen.

Access the screen rotation control by sliding down the status bar and touching Auto Rotate.

Getting to Know the Home Screen

The home screen is the starting point for Spro2 applications, functions, and menus. You can customize the home screen by adding or removing tabs, folders, or application shortcuts.

Navigate the Home Screen

The home screen comes with a series of tabs.

• Touch a tab to access its contents.
• Touch the APPS tab to find all the applications.
• Touch other tabs to find application shortcuts, folders, and widgets.
• With widgets, you can manage some important functions of the Spro2 right from the home screen.

Personalize the Home Screen

To add a tab:

Touch 📄 to add a new tab in the home screen.

To edit a tab:

Touch and hold the tab and touch to delete the tab and all items in it, or touch the tab name to enter a new tab name.

NOTE: The HOME tab, the SETTINGS tab, and the APPS tab are pre-configured and cannot be edited.

To add an application shortcut:

1. Touch and hold an application icon in the APPS tab or any shortcut in any other tab.
2. Drag the item to the name of the tab that to put it in. The screen displays the content in the tab.
3. Drag the item to an empty spot in the tab and release your finger.

To remove an application shortcut:

1. Touch and hold an application icon in any tab other than the APPS tab.
2. Drag the icon to (Remove) at the bottom and release your finger.

To organize shortcuts with folders:

1. Touch and hold an application icon in any tab other than the APPS tab.
2. Drag the icon to + (Folder) at the bottom and release your finger. A new folder is created and the icon is moved into the folder.
3. To add more shortcuts into the folder, touch and hold them and drag them to the folder and release them.

NOTE: To remove a shortcut from a folder, touch the folder to display its content, and then touch and hold the shortcut and release it after dragging it out of the folder.

To rename a folder:

1. Touch a folder to open it.
2. Touch twice the folder name displayed above the icons in the folder.
3. Enter a new name and touch Done or touch any area outside the folder to save the name.

To uninstall an application:

1. Touch and hold an application icon in the APPS tab of the home screen.
2. Touch on the application to uninstall.
3. Touch OK.

NOTE: You cannot uninstall some applications.

Personalizing

Changing the System Language

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Local > Language & input > Language.
2. Select the language.

Setting the Date and Time

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Local > Date & time.
2. Set the date, time, time zone, and date/time format.

▶ To adjust the date and time automatically, check Automatic date & time.
▶ To adjust the date and time manually, uncheck Automatic date & time and touch Set date / Set time to change the date and time.
▶ To adjust the time zone, touch Select time zone to set the correct time zone.
▶ To adjust the format of time and date, touch Use 24-hour format or Choose date format.

Changing the Notification Sound

To customize the default notification sound:

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Device > Sound.
2. Touch Default notification.
3. Select the sound you want to use and touch OK.

Turning On/Off Other System Sounds

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Device > Sound.
2. Check or uncheck Touch sounds or Screen lock sounds.

Adjusting Volume

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Device > Sound > Volumes.
2. Drag the sliders to adjust the volume for each type of audio.
3. Touch OK to save.

Switching to Silent Mode

To set the Spro2 to silent mode, use one of these methods:

• Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Device > Sound > Sound mode and select Mute.
• Keep pressing Volume down when no media application is active. When the icon appears on the status bar, the Spro2 is in silent mode.

Applying New Wallpapers

To set the wallpaper for the lock screen, follow these steps:

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Device > Display > Wallpaper.
2. Select a wallpaper source from Gallery or Wallpapers and choose the image to use as the wallpaper. Gallery images may require some cropping.

Changing Screen Brightness

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Device > Display > Brightness.
2. Drag the slider to adjust the screen brightness.

Protecting the Spro2 with Screen Locks

Create a screen lock to protect the Spro2. When the screen lock is enabled, touch and hold on the screen, draw the pattern or enter a numeric PIN or password to unlock Spro2's screen and keys.

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Local > Security > Screen lock.

2. Touch Long Press, Pattern, PIN or Password.

3. Touch Long Press to enable screen lock and allow unlock with a ‘touch and hold’ gesture. You can unlock the screen by touching and holding any blank area on the screen.
   ▶ Touch Pattern to create a pattern you must draw to unlock the screen.
   ▶ Touch PIN or Password to set a numeric PIN or a password that you must enter to unlock the screen.

CAUTION: Remember the pattern, PIN, or password. If you forget it, you must call Customer Service to upgrade the Spro2 software and you will lose all data in the Spro2's internal storage.

Protecting the Spro2 with Encryption

You can encrypt all the data on the Spro2 including Google accounts, application data, music and other media, and downloaded information. If you do, you must enter a numeric PIN or a password each time you power on the Spro2.

WARNING! Encryption is irreversible. The only way to revert to an unencrypted Spro2 is to perform a factory data reset, which erases all the data.

Encryption provides additional protection in case the Spro2 is stolen, and may be required or recommended in some organizations. Consult your system administrator before turning it on. In many cases the PIN or password you set for encryption is controlled by the system administrator.

Before turning on encryption:

• Set a lock screen PIN or password.
• Charge the battery.
• Keep the Spro2 connected to the charger.

- Schedule an hour or more for the encryption process. Interrupting the encryption process can cause loss of some or all of your data.

When you're ready to turn on encryption:

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Local > Security > Encrypt device.

2. Read the information about encryption carefully.

The Encrypt device button is dimmed if the battery is not charged or the charger is not plugged in the Spro2.

If you change your mind about encrypting the Spro2, touch the Back button.

WARNING! Interrupting the encryption process can cause loss of all or some of data.

1. Touch Encrypt device.
2. Enter the lock screen PIN or password and touch Next.
3. Touch Encrypt device again.

The encryption process starts. Encryption can take an hour or more. The Spro2 may restart several times.

When encryption completes, it prompts for the PIN or password.

You must enter the PIN or password each time you power on the Spro2 to decrypt it.

Monitoring the Device Status

These are some of the status icons that display on the right side of the status bar at the top of the home screen:

Managing Notifications

Notification Icons

These are some of the notification icons that display on the left side of the status bar at the top of the home screen:.

Open and Close the Notification Panel

Notifications report when new Gmail messages arrive and ongoing events, such as when you are playing music. Swipe your finger down from the top of the screen to open the notification panel to view the details of notifications. Swipe your finger from the bottom to the top of the screen or touch the Back button to close the notification panel.

Respond to or Remove a Notification

You can respond to a notification or remove notifications in the notification panel. The notification panel supports expandable notifications to perform additional actions from the notification.

• To respond to a notification, just touch it.
• Slide down with one finger to expand certain notifications. You can also swipe two fingers vertically or pinch-zoom to expand or collapse certain notifications.

- To remove a notification, swipe it left or right.

- To remove all notifications, touch in the top right corner.

- Touch and hold a notification and then touch App info to identify the application that created it. To turn off notifications from that application if needed, uncheck Show notifications in the App info screen.

- Most apps that send notifications, such as Gmail, have notification settings that you can adjust.

NOTE: Turning off notifications for an app can cause you to miss important alerts and updates. You cannot turn off notifications from some apps.

Use Control Switches

Use the control switches in the notification panel to view or change the most common settings on the Spro2.

The notification panel has these control switches on the top of the screen. Slide left or right to find all switches:

• Projector: Turn the projector on or off.
• Projector Brightness: Adjust projection brightness.
• HDMI: When it is highlighted, you can project contents through an HDMI cable after connecting Spro2 to an HDMI source, such as a laptop or TV Set Top Box (STB).
  • Miracast: Turn Miracast on or off.
• Connect to USB stick: When it is highlighted, you can connect Spro2 with a USB device.
• Connect to PC: When it is highlighted, you can connect Spro2 with a computer to transfer files through a USB cable.
  • Wi-Fi: Turn Wi-Fi n or off.
• Bluetooth: Turn Bluetooth on or off.
  • Virtual Hotspot: Turn the LAN access point on or off.
• Eye protection: Turn the eye protection feature for projection on or off.
  • Auto Rotate: Turn the auto-rotate screen feature on or off.

NOTE: In the notification panel, touch 📋 in the upper right corner to access the system settings menu; touch 📋 to access the projector settings menu.

Entering Text

Enter text using the onscreen keyboard. Some apps automatically open it. In others, open it by touching where you want to type. Touch the Back button to hide the onscreen

keyboard.

Change Input Methods

1. When you use the onscreen keyboard to enter text, the icon appears on the status bar.
2. Open the notification panel and touch Choose input method.
3. Select the input method you need.

NOTE: The icon appears only when more than one input method is installed.

Android Keyboard

The Android Keyboard has a layout similar to a desktop computer keyboard.

- Touch the alphabetic keys to enter letters. Touch and hold some specific keys to enter associated accented letters or numbers. For example, to enter è, touch and hold and the available accented letters and number 3 appear. Slide to choose è.

• Touch to use uppercase. Double-tap to lock uppercase. This key also changes to indicate the current case you are using: for lowercase, for uppercase, and when locked in uppercase.
• Touch to delete the text before the cursor.
• Touch to select numbers and symbols. You can touch to find more.
• Touch to use Google voice typing.
• Touch and hold to change the input language or set up the Android Keyboard.

Input Method Settings

Choose the input method settings by touching Home > SETTINGS > System > Local > Language & input.

In the KEYBOARD & INPUT METHODS section, set the default input method and choose the settings for input methods.

Editing Text

• Move the insertion point: Touch where you want to type.
  The cursor blinks in the new position with a tab below it. Drag the tab to move the cursor.

• Select text: Touch and hold or double-tap within the text.
  The nearest word highlights, with a tab at each end of the selection. Drag the tabs to change the selection.

• Cut or copy: Select the text to manipulate. Touch (Cut) or (Copy), or in landscape mode touch Edit > Cut or Edit > Copy.

• Replace text with the clipboard text: Select the text to replace. Touch 📋 or PASTE, or in landscape mode touch Edit > Paste.
• Insert text from the clipboard: Move cursor to the insertion point and touch and hold the tab below the cursor. Release the finger and touch PASTE.

Opening and Switching Apps

Open an App

1. Touch Home > APPS.
2. Slide left or right on the screen and touch an app to open it.

Switch Between Recently Opened Apps

1. Touch and hold Menu.

A list of the names and thumbnails of recently used apps opens. If you've been using more apps recently than fit on the screen, slide the list to left or right.

1. Touch a thumbnail to open that app.

NOTE: Swipe a thumbnail up or down to remove it from the list, or touch Remove All to clear the list.

Projection

You can use the Spro2's projector to project files in the Spro2 or other devices connected to it.

WARNING! Do not look directly into the projection lens or point the lens toward people or animals' eyes when the projector is on as this may cause injury to the eyes.

Projecting a File Saved in the Spro2

To project a file stored in the Spro2, follow these steps:

1. Open the file to project. For example, to open image files, touch the APPS tab on the home screen and touch Gallery.
2. Touch the album and the image to display it in full screen.
3. Turn on the projector. For more information, see Turning the Projector On and Off.
4. Adjust the projection distance and place Spro2 on a flat surface.

NOTE: Press the Power button twice quickly to automatically adjust projection focus.

Projecting an HDMI Source

Use an HDMI cable to connect the Spro2 to a laptop, PC, or TV Set Top Box (STB) to use the Spro2 as a projector. If you have an Apple device with the Lighting connector, you need to get a Lightning Digital AV Adapter that is not included in the packaging.

1. Connect the Spro2 to the laptop, PC, or TV STB through the HDMI cable.

For Apple devices with the Lighting connector, connect the device to the HDMI cable with the Lightning Digital AV Adapter before connecting the HDMI cable to Spro2.

1. Turn on the projector. For more information, see Turning the Projector On and Off.

2. Swipe down the status bar at the top of the screen and touch HDMI to highlight it.

3. Operate the laptop, PC, TV STB, or Apple device to select the content to watch.

NOTES: If the laptop or PC has other kinds of output ports, such as VGA port, DVI port, DisplayPort and Mini DisplayPort, get a proper adapter to connect the laptop or PC with the Spro2.

The maximum resolution the Spro2 supports for the HDMI source is 720p, 1280 x 720 pixels.

Press the Power button twice quickly to automatically adjust projection focus.

When the HDMI source fails to project normally when you use a VGA to HDMI adaptor to connect the laptop or PC with Spro2, follow these instructions:

• Use an adaptor that supports 720p output.
• Set the screen resolution on the laptop or PC to 1280 × 720 pixels on a Windows 7 laptop or PC, or right-click on the desktop and select Graphics Options > Panel Fit > Maintain Display Scaling for a Windows 7 laptop or PC.
• Set the screen refresh rate on the laptop or PC to 60 Hz or less. On a Windows 7 laptop or PC, right-click on the desktop and select Screen resolution > Advanced settings > Monitor > Screen refresh rate.

Projecting a File Saved on the USB Device

To project a file stored on the USB device, such as a USB flash drive or a portable hard drive, follow these steps:

1. Slide the status bar down to open the notification panel and to ensure Connect to USB stick is highlighted.
2. Connect the USB device to Spro2 using the USB jack.
3. Touch Home > APPS > File Manager.
4. Touch USB DEVICE to open the file to project.
5. Turn on the projector. For more information, see Turning the Projector On and Off.

NOTES: To disconnect the USB device from the Spro2, open the notification panel and touch > OK.

• The Spro2 supports a maximum capacity portable hard drive size of 2 TB and a maximum capacity of 64 GB for the USB flash drive.
• Press the Power button twice quickly to adjust projection focus automatically.

Projecting a Source on the Phone Using Miracast - Wi-Fi Display

Follow these steps to display the content from a compatible smartphone on the Spro2 with a Miracast Wi-Fi Display link.

1. Turn on the projector. For more information, see Turning the Projector On and Off.

2. Swipe down the status bar at the top of the screen and touch Miracast to highlight it.

3. Open a Wi-Fi display application on the phone to scan for available devices within range.

4. When you see the name of the Spro2 in the available devices section, touch the name. The phone automatically tries to pair with the Spro2.

5. Touch Accept on the Spro2. After successful connection, the contents in the phone displays on the projector.

6. On the phone, choose the content to display.

NOTES:

• Miracast is not compatible with all smartphones or tablets.
  • To end the Miracast link, touch the Back key of Spro2.
• Press the Power button twice quickly to adjust projection focus automatically.

Remote Control

You can use your mobile device such as an Android phone, an iPhone, or an iPad to control the Spro2 with the Spro2 remote control app.

Downloading and Installing the Remote Control App

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS on the Spro2.
2. Use the Android or Apple device to scan the QR code and download and install the remote control app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

Connecting to Spro2 and Using the Remote Control App

Before using the remote control app, connect the mobile device to the Spro2 with Wi-Fi using one of these methods.

Method one: virtual hotspot (LAN access point)

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > Projector > Control and slide the Remote Control switch to the ON position.
2. Turn on the virtual hotspot feature on Spro2. For more information, see Setting Spro2 as a Virtual Hotspot (LAN Access Point).

3. Connect the mobile device to the Spro2virtual hotspot.

4. Open the remote control app on the mobile device. The app starts to connect to Spro2.

NOTE: The first time you use the Spro2 or after restarting it, touch OK on Spro2 to accept the connection.

1. When the connection completes, the Spro2 content screen displays on the mobile device. Use the mobile device as the remote control.

2. Touch the mobile device screen to control the Spro2.
   ▶ Use , and on the remote control app screen as the Back button, the Home button and the Menu button on the Spro2.

3. Touch to turn on the Spro2 projector or open the projector settings menu. Double-tap to automatically adjust projection focus.

Method two: connect to the same Wi-Fi network

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > Projector > Control and slide the Remote Control switch to ON.
2. Connect the mobile device and Spro2 to the same Wi-Fi network, for example, the wireless router in your home. For more information, see Connecting to Wi-Fi ^® .
3. When the remote control app opens on the mobile device, the app starts to connect to the Spro2.

NOTE: the first time use or after restarting the Spro2, touch OK on Spro2 to accept the connection.

1. When the connection completes, the Spro2 content displays on the mobile device and you can use the mobile device as a remote control.

2. Touch the mobile device screen to control the Spro2.
   ▶ Use 📄, 📋 and 📋 on the remote control app screen as the Back button, the Home button and the Menu button of Spro2.

3. Touch to turn on the Spro2 projector or open the projector settings pop-up menu. Double-tap to adjust projection focus automatically.

Method three: Wi-Fi Direct

NOTE: This method is only available for Android devices that support Wi-Fi Direct.

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > Projector > Control and slide the Remote Control switch to the ON position.
2. Connect the Android device to the Spro2 using Wi-Fi Direct. For more information, see Connect to Another Device Using Wi-Fi Direct.
3. Open the remote control app on the Android device and the app starts to connect to the Spro2.

NOTE: The first time you use the Spro2 or after restarting it, touch OK to accept the connection.

1. When the connection completes, the Spro2 screen content displays on the Android device. You can use the Android device as the remote control.

2. Touch the Android device’s screen to control the Spro2.
   ▶ Use , and on the remote control app screen as the Spro2 Back button, the Home button and the Menu button.

3. Touch to turn on the Spro2 projector or open the projector settings pop-up menu. Double-tap to adjust projection focus automatically.

Connecting to Networks and Devices

Connecting to Wi-Fi®

Wi-Fi is a wireless networking technology that can provide Internet access at distances of up to 300 feet, depending on the Wi-Fi router and your surroundings.

Turn Wi-Fi On and Connect to a Wi-Fi Network

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Network > Wi-Fi.
2. Slide the Wi-Fi switch to ON to turn on Wi-Fi.
3. Touch a network name to connect to it.
4. If the network is secured, type the password and touch Connect.

NOTE: The Spro2 automatically connects to previously used Wi-Fi networks when they are in range.

NOTE: To connect to a Wi-Fi router that supports WPS, touch “on the Spro2 Wi-Fi menu and press the WPS button on the router.

Receive Notification of Open Networks

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Network > Wi-Fi.
2. Slide the Wi-Fi switch to the ON position.
3. Touch Menu > Advanced.
4. Check Network notification.

When Wi-Fi is on, the Spro2 displays notifications in the status bar when it detects an open Wi-Fi network. Uncheck the option to turn off notifications.

Add a Wi-Fi Network

Follow these steps to add a Wi-Fi network if the network does not broadcast its name (SSID), or to add a Wi-Fi network when you are out of range:

To connect to a secured network, ask the network administrator for the security details.

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Network > Wi-Fi.
2. Slide the Wi-Fi switch to the ON position.
3. Touch .+
4. Enter the network SSID (name). If necessary, enter security or other network configuration details.
5. Touch Save.

Forget a Wi-Fi Network

To make the Spro2 forget the details of a Wi-Fi network, for

example, if you don't want the Spro2 to connect to it automatically or if it is a network that you no longer use, follow these steps:

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Network > Wi-Fi.
2. Slide the Wi-Fi switch to the ON position.
3. Touch the Wi-Fi network name and then touch Forget.

Connect to a WPS Network

Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) simplifies adding the Spro2 to access points that support WPS. Use one of these methods to connect the Spro2 to a wireless network using WPS:

Method one: WPS button

This is the recommended method

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Network > Wi-Fi.
2. Slide the Wi-Fi switch to the ON position.
3. Touch .
4. When you press the WPS button on the wireless router, the access point recognizes the Spro2 and adds it to the network.

Method two: Spro2 PIN

1. Touch the Home > SETTINGS > System > Network > Wi-Fi.
2. Slide the Wi-Fi switch to the ON position.

3. Touch Menu > WPS Pin Entry.

4. The WPS PIN displays on the screen. Type the PIN into the access point's setup page.

After entering the PIN, the Spro2 automatically finds the access point and configures the connection.

Method three: Using the Access Point PIN

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Network > Wi-Fi.
2. Slide the Wi-Fi switch to the ON position.

A WPS capable access point has the icon next to the name.

1. Touch a WPS-capable access point.
2. In the window that opens, check Show advanced options.
3. Touch the field below WPS PIN from access point and select Enable.
4. Enter the access point PIN and touch Connect. The PIN is on the access point's configuration page.

NOTE: For more information about the access point's WPS feature, refer to the user documents.

Adjusting Advanced Wi-Fi Settings

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Network > Wi-Fi.
2. Touch the Menu > Advanced to adjust these settings:

▶ Network notification: Display notifications in the status bar when Wi-Fi is on and an open network is available
▶ Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep: Set to keep Wi-Fi on in

sleep mode

• Scanning always available: Allow Google’s location service and other apps to scan for networks, even when Wi-Fi is off
  ▶ Wi-Fi band: Select the Wi-Fi frequency band according to the available Wi-Fi networks.
• Install certificates: Install certificates from the internal storage or the external microSDHC card. Some Wi-Fi networks need to find the correct certificates to grant access.
  ▶ Wi-Fi optimization: Minimize battery use when Wi-Fi is on.
  ▶ MAC address: Check the MAC address.
  ▶ IP address: Check the IP address.

Using Wi-Fi Direct®

Wi-Fi Direct allows Wi-Fi devices to connect to each other without wireless access points (hotspots).

NOTE: Wi-Fi Direct is not completely compatible among different device manufacturers and may require installing third-party applications to share files between different devices from different manufacturers.

Connect to another Device Using Wi-Fi Direct

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Network > Wi-Fi.

2. If Wi-Fi is off, slide the Wi-Fi switch to the ON position.

3. Touch the Menu > Wi-Fi Direct. The Spro2 searches for other devices enabled with Wi-Fi Direct connections.

4. Touch a device name under PEER DEVICES to connect with it.

The other device will receive a connection prompt and must accept the request for connection. Both devices may need to enter a common PIN.

After connecting, the device is displays as Connected in the PEER DEVICES list.

Send Data Using Wi-Fi Direct

1. Open the appropriate application and select the file or item to share.
2. Select the option for sharing using Wi-Fi Direct. The method may vary by application and data type.
3. Touch a device the Spro2 connected with or wait for it to search for new devices and touch one of them.

Receive Data Using Wi-Fi Direct

When the Spro2 receives an attempt to transfer data using Wi-Fi Direct, the notification displays in the status bar. Open the notification panel, touch the notification and select Accept to start receiving the data.

Received files are stored automatically in a dedicated folder, for example WiFiShare. Use File Manager to access the files.

Connecting to Bluetooth ^® Devices

Bluetooth ^® is a short-range wireless communication technology. Phones or other devices with Bluetooth capabilities can exchange information wirelessly within a distance of about 30 feet. The Bluetooth devices must pair before the communication occurs.

Turn Bluetooth On/Off

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Network > Bluetooth.
2. Slide the Bluetooth switch to the ON or OFF position. When Bluetooth is on, the icon will appear in the status bar.

Make the Spro2 Visible

To work with other Bluetooth phones or devices, follow these steps to make the Spro2 is visible:

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Network > Bluetooth.
2. Slide the Bluetooth switch to the ON position if Bluetooth is off.
3. Touch the device name on the top of the screen to make the Spro2 visible or invisible.

NOTE: Touch Menu > Visibility timeout to set the Bluetooth visibility timeout on the Spro2.

Change the Device Name

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Network > Bluetooth.
2. Slide the Bluetooth switch to the ON position if Bluetooth is off.
3. Touch Menu > Rename device.
4. Edit the name and touch Rename.

Pair With another Bluetooth Device

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Network > Bluetooth.
2. Slide the Bluetooth switch to the ON position if Bluetooth is off.
   The Spro2 automatically scans for and displays the IDs of all available Bluetooth devices in range. You can touch SEARCH FOR DEVICES in the upper right of the screen to scan again.
3. Touch the device to pair with.
4. Confirm that the Bluetooth passkeys are the same between the two devices and touch Pair. Alternately, enter a Bluetooth passkey and touch Pair.
   Pairing is successfully completed when the other device accepts the connection or the same passkey is entered.

NOTE: The Bluetooth passkey may be fixed for certain devices, such as headsets and hands-free car kit. Try entering the most common passkeys, 0000 or 1234, or refer to the documents for that device.

Unpair From a Bluetooth Device

You can make the Spro2 forget its pairing connection with another Bluetooth device. To connect to the device again, you may need to enter or confirm a passkey again.

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Network > Bluetooth and ensure that Bluetooth is turned on.
2. In the list of paired devices, touch the icon next to the Bluetooth device to unpair from.
3. Touch Unpair.

Send Data Through Bluetooth

1. Open the appropriate application and select the file or item to share.
2. Select the option for sharing using Bluetooth. The method may vary by application and data type.
3. Touch a Bluetooth device the Spro2 paired with or wait for it to search for new devices and touch one of them.

Receive Data Using Bluetooth

1. Turn Bluetooth on before trying to receive data using Bluetooth.

NOTE: If the Spro2 has not paired with the sending device, you may need to keep Spro2 visible through Bluetooth.

1. Flick down the status bar and touch

1. Touch Accept to start receiving the data.

When the Spro2 has a microSDHC card is installed, it automatically stores received files in a dedicated folder, such as Bluetooth, in the internal storage or microSDHC card. Access them with the File Manager app.

Connecting to the Computer Using USB

Follow these steps to connect the Spro2 to a computer with a USB cable to transfer music, pictures, and other files in between the devices. The Spro2 stores these files in the internal storage or on a removable microSDHC card. For more information, see Storage.

Connect the Spro2 to a Computer Using USB

1. Connect the Spro2 to the computer using a USB cable. Insert the end of the cable into the Spro2 USB jack and insert the other end of the cable into an available USB port on the computer.

1. Slide the status bar down to open the notification panel and touch Connect to PC highlight it.

2. Open the notification panel and touch Connected as ... or touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Device > USB mode.

3. Choose one of these options:

▶ Install driver: Some USB connection modes, such as MTP, require that you install a driver
NOTE: Run the executable file in the new CD-ROM drive
▶ Media device (MTP): Transfer media files on Windows ^® or Mac ^® .

1. When finished, disconnect the Spro2 from the computer.

Connect with Windows Media ^® Player

To sync music, picture, and video files on the phone and a computer that has Windows Media Player installed, follow these steps:

1. Connect the Spro2 to the computer with USB and choose Media device (MTP).
2. Open Windows Media Player and synchronize music, picture, and video files.

Disconnect the Spro2 from the Computer

To disconnect Spro2 from the computer, unplug the USB cable when finished.

Remove the microSDHC Card from the Spro2

To remove the microSDHC card while Spro2 is on, you must unmount it first.

1. If Spro2 is connected to a computer, disconnect it.
2. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Device > Storage.
3. Scroll down and touch Unmount SD card > OK.
4. When the Unmount SD card menu changes to Mount SD card, you can safely remove the microSDHC card from Spro2.

NOTE: If you unmount the microSDHC card, some apps may stop and may be unavailable until you remount the microSDHC card.

Erase the microSDHC Card

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Device > Storage.
2. Scroll down and touch Erase external SD card > Erase SD card > Erase everything.

CAUTION: The formatting procedure permanently erases all data on the microSDHC card.

Connecting to a USB Device

To connect to a USB device, such as a USB flash drive or a portable hard drive to the Spro2 using the USB jack, touch Home > APPS > File Manager > USB DEVICE to view files in the USB device.

NOTE: Before connecting the Spro2 with a USB device, slide the status bar down to open the notification panel and ensure Connect to USB stick is highlighted.

To disconnect a USB device from the Spro2, open the notification panel and touch OK.

CAUTION: Before unmounting the USB device, do not disable Connect to USB stick or enable Connect to PC. Doing so may cause the connection between the Spro2 and the USB device to disconnect, and may damage the data in the USB device.

Connecting to a Webcam

NOTE: The Webcam is not included.

To connect a webcam to the Spro2 using the USB jack and have video calls by using a video chat app such as Google Hangouts and Skype, follow these steps:

1. Slide the status bar down to open the notification panel and ensure that Connect to USB stick is highlighted.
2. Connect a webcam to Spro2 using the USB jack.
3. Open a video chat app to make a video call.

NOTE: To take pictures or record video clips, touch the Home key > APPS tab > Camera to open the Camera app or install and use other camera apps on Spro2.

The Spro2 does not support all webcams. Refer to the webcam manual for detailed instructions.

Setting the Spro2 as a Virtual Hotspot (LAN Access Point)

You can enable the virtual hotspot feature to set Spro2 as a LAN access point, which allows other devices to connect to Spro2 using Wi-Fi. For example, before using the remote control app, you can turn on the virtual hotspot and connect the mobile device to Spro2 using Wi-Fi.

NOTES: The Spro2 cannot connect to the virtual hotspot to access the Internet. When the virtual hotspot is enabled, the Spro2 disconnects from all Wi-Fi networks.

Turn on the Virtual Hotspot

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Network > Virtual Hotspot.

2. Slide the switch to turn on the virtual hotspot, the LAN access point.

3. On another device, locate the Spro2 using Wi-Fi and connect with it.

Or, if the device supports Wi-Fi Protected Setup, touch the WPS icon on the device, and touch “on the Spro2.

Set Your Virtual Hotspot

To change the name of the Spro2 virtual hotspot, the SSID, secure it with a password, and set other options, follow these steps:

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Network > Virtual Hotspot.
2. Touch CONFIGURE to set these options:

▶ Network Name: Enter or edit a network name that other devices see when scanning for Wi-Fi networks.
▶ Wi-Fi band: Set the band the virtual hotspot should be available on.
▶ Channel: To avoid interference with other Wi-Fi networks, try using a different channel.
▶ Security: Choose a security option:

• None - not recommended

- WPA2 PSK - other users can access the virtual hotspot only if they enter the correct password. When you select WPA2 PSK, touch the Password field to edit the security password.

▶ Show password: Check this option to display the password in the Password field.
▶ Broadcast network name (SSID): Check this option to broadcast the network SSID. If the broadcast is disabled, other users need to get the network name to find the virtual hotspot.

1. Touch Save to save settings.

Connecting to Virtual Private Networks

Virtual private networks (VPNs) allow you to connect to the resources inside a secured local network. VPNs are commonly deployed by corporations, schools, and other institutions to let people access local network resources when not on campus, or when connected to a wireless network.

Depending on the type of VPN, you may need to enter login credentials or install security certificates before connect to the VPN. Ask the network administrator for this information.

Add a VPN

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Network > VPN.
2. Touch and complete the information the network administrator provides.
3. Touch Save. The VPN is added to the list on the VPN screen.

NOTE: You must set a lock screen pattern, PIN or password before using VPN.

Connect to a VPN

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Network > VPN.
2. Touch the VPN you want to connect to.
3. When prompted, enter requested credentials, and touch Connect.

Modify a VPN

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Network > VPN.
2. Touch and hold the VPN to modify.
3. Touch Edit profile and edit the VPN settings.
4. Touch Save.

Accounts

Adding or Removing Accounts

You can add multiple Google accounts and add other kinds of accounts, depending on the apps installed on the Spro2.

Add an Account

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Device > Add account.
2. Touch the type of account you want to add.
3. Follow the onscreen steps to enter the information about the account. Most accounts require a username and password, but the details may vary. You may also need some information from IT support or the system administrator.

When the Spro2 successfully adds the account, the account displays in the ACCOUNTS section in the Device settings menu.

Remove an Account

Removing an account deletes the account and all information associated with it from the Spro2. For example, when you remove a Google account, Gmail messages and web albums from that account are all deleted from Spro2.

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Device.
2. Touch the account category in the ACCOUNTS section and touch the account.
3. Touch Menu > Remove account > Remove account.

Configuring Account Sync

Change Account Sync Settings

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Device.
2. In the ACCOUNTS section, touch the account category and then the account. The Sync screen appears, showing a list of information the account can sync.
3. Check or uncheck items as you need. Checked types of information on Spro2 and the web will be kept in auto-sync.

Sync Manually

1. Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Device.
2. In the ACCOUNTS section, touch the account category and the account to sync.
3. Touch Menu > Sync now.

Gmail™

After you sign in to your Google or other personal email account on Spro2, you can send and retrieve email messages with the Gmail app.

Opening Your Inbox

Touch Home > APPS > Gmail. The inbox screen opens. If you haven't signed in to any email account, touch Add an email address to add an account.

Drag the inbox message list downward to refresh your inbox and download new messages.

Switching Accounts

The Gmail app displays conversations, messages, and settings from one account at a time. If you have signed in to more than one email account on the Spro2, you can switch accounts and view information in each account.

1. From your inbox, touch at the top left of the screen.
2. Touch the account avatar to view.

Writing and Sending a Message

1. Open your inbox and touch .
2. If you have more than one email account, touch the From line to select the account for sending the message.
3. Enter a contact name or email address in the To field. Touch the space key before entering each additional recipient.
4. Enter the email subject and compose the email text.
5. To add an attachment, touch .
6. Touch at the top right of the screen to send the message.

Replying to or Forwarding a Message

1. Open the email message you want to reply to or forward to another person.

2. Do the following as you need:

▶ To reply to the sender, touch .
▶ To reply to the sender and all recipients of the original message, touch ⋮ > Reply all.
▶ To forward the message, touch .

1. Edit your message and touch .

Working with Gmail Labels

You can organize Gmail messages by labelling them or adding stars to them. Gmail labels include both labels you create and default labels such as Sent, Starred, and Outbox.

To label or change labels:

1. Open a Gmail account message box and touch in the message list the sender images at the left side of the messages you want to label.

1. At the top right of the screen, touch > Change labels.
2. Check or uncheck labels in the new screen and touch OK.

To add stars to messages:

1. Open the Gmail account message and in the message list touch the sender images at the left side of the messages to star.
2. At the top right of the screen, touch > Add star.

To view messages by label:

1. Open the Gmail app and switch to your Google account.
2. Touch at the top left of the screen.
3. Touch a label below All labels to view messages with that label.

Changing Gmail Settings

Open the Gmail app and touch at the top left of the screen, scroll down, and touch Settings to change General settings, that apply to all added email accounts, or other settings that only apply to specific accounts.

Web Browser

Use Chrome to view web pages and search for information.

Opening the Browser

Touch Home > APPS > Chrome to use the browser.

The browser also opens when you touch a web link, for example, in an email.

To open a web page or search the web:

1. Open the Chrome app.
2. Touch the address box at the top of the web page. If the address box isn't visible, scroll up the screen to show it.
3. Type the Web page's address, the URL, or, enter terms to search for.
4. Touch a URL or search suggestion or touch Go on the keyboard to open the web page or search results.

NOTE: Touch : > × to stop opening the page.

Using Multiple Browser Tabs

You can open several web pages at the same time, one page in each tab, and switch between them.

To open a new browser tab:

Touch : at the top right of the browser screen and select New tab.

To switch between tabs:

1. Touch the tabs icon at the top right. The number in the icon indicates the number of currently opened browser tabs.
2. Swipe horizontally to scroll through the list of opened tabs.
3. Touch the thumbnail of the tab to open.

Downloading Files

1. Touch and hold an image or a link to a file or to another web page.
2. In the menu that opens, touch Save image or Save link. You can view or open the downloaded files in the Downloads app.

Changing Browser Settings

You can configure a number of browser settings to customize how you browse the Web, including several you can use to control privacy.

To open the browser settings screen, touch the Menu > Settings in the Web page screen.

Gallery

Opening Gallery

Touch the Home > APPS > Gallery to view albums of pictures and videos.

Working with Albums

When you open the Gallery, all pictures and videos on the Spro2 display in albums.

To view album contents, touch the album.

To share albums, pictures, or videos:

1. Touch and hold an item in the Albums view to select an album or after you open an album to select a picture or a video.
2. Touch more items you want to share.
3. Touch and select how to share the items.

To delete albums:

1. Touch and hold an album until it is selected.
2. Touch more albums to delete.
3. Touch > OK.

Working with Pictures

Touch a picture in an album to view the picture in full screen. When viewing a picture in full screen, the following features are available.

• Swipe horizontally to see other pictures or videos in the album.
• Pinch a picture or video to make it smaller. The Spro2 displays a filmstrip-style view of all pictures. Swipe left or right to scan through them.

NOTE: To delete a picture or video, swipe it up or down in the filmstrip view. To retrieve a deleted picture or video, touch UNDO.

- To zoom in or out, double-tap the picture, or pinch two fingers together or spread them apart.

• Touch the Menu to rotate, delete, share, print, or rename the picture, check file details, set it as the lock screen wallpaper, or change slideshow setting.
• Touch Slideshow to browse the album contents in a slideshow.
• Touch Back to return to the album.

NOTE: Some options may not be available for certain albums or pictures.

Playing Videos

1. Touch an album in the gallery and touch the video's thumbnail.
2. Touch at the center and select a player to start playing. Touch the video screen to view the playback controls.

Play Music

The Play Music app works with Google Music, Google's online music store and streaming service. You can stream using Wi-Fi and listen to favorite songs added to your online Google Music library. You can also play audio files copied to the Spro2 from a computer.

NOTE: The availability of Google Music is regional. If it is not available, or you don't have a Wi-Fi connection, you can only play music stored on the Spro2.

Copying Music Files to the Spro2

Before using Play Music, copy or download audio files to the Spro2.

Copy from a Computer

1. Connect the Spro2 and the computer with a USB cable.
2. Slide the status bar down to open the notification panel and touch Connect to PC to highlight it.
3. In the notification panel, touch Connected as ... and select Media device (MTP). For more information, see Connect the Spro2 to a Computer Using USB.
4. Copy the music files from the PC and paste them to the Spro2.

Other Methods to Load Files on the Spro2

• Downloading files from the Internet when browsing Web pages. For more information, see Downloading Files.
• Receiving music files from other devices using Bluetooth. For more information, see Receive Data Using Bluetooth.
• Receiving music giles from other devices using Wi-Fi direct. For more information, see Receive Data Using Wi-Fi Direct.

Playing Music

Touch the Home > APPS > Play Music. When prompted, select an account to access its online music library.

The app searches the online library and the Spro2 for music and playlists before displaying the combined music library, organized by GENRES, ARTISTS, ALBUMS and SONGS.

Touch > My Library / Playlists to view all the music and playlists. To changes views of the library, swipe left or right.

Touch a song to play it. When the song is playing, touch the summary information at the bottom to display the playback screen.

Number	Function
1	Song and artist information. Touch or drag down to return to the music library.
2	Album artwork, if available. Slide left or right to switch to the next or previous song in the playlist.
3	Give the song a thumbs-up.
4	Playback control. Skip songs, pause and resume playback, and use shuffle or repeat. Drag the progress bar to jump to any part of the song.
5	Give the song a thumbs-down.
6	Touch to see the current playlist (queue).
7	Get more options.

To control the music when not in the playback screen:

• In the music library of the Play Music app, touch the summary information at the bottom of the screen to restore the playback screen.
• In other apps, flick down the notification panel. Touch the song title to restore the playback screen, or pause/ resume playback or skip songs.
• When the screen is locked, the song information, album cover, and playback control displays on the screen. You can pause and resume playback or skip songs.

Managing Playlists

Create playlists to organize music files into sets of songs, you can play in a preferred order.

To create a playlist or add a song to a playlist, touch next to a song and select Add to playlist.

To remove a song from a playlist:

1. Touch > Playlists in the Play Music app and open a playlist.
2. Touch : next to a song in the playlist.
3. Touch Remove from playlist.

To delete a playlist:

1. Touch > Playlists in the Play Music app.
2. Touch : next to the playlist you want to delete.
3. Touch Delete > OK.

NOTE: You cannot delete some automatically created playlists, such as Last added cannot be deleted.

Video Player

Use the Video Player app to manage the video library and watch videos.

Opening the Video Library

Touch the Home > APPS tab > Video Player to view the video library in a list.

Swipe up or down to find the video. Touch Menu > Sort to sort the list.

Playing and Controlling Videos

Touch a video in the video library to play it. Touch the screen to display the playback controls.

• Touch the play/pause button at the bottom to pause or resume the playback.
• Slide horizontally on the screen to rewind or fast forward.
• Slide vertically on the left or right part of the screen to adjust volume or brightness.

- Touch or to skip to the previous or the next video.

- Touch or to change the video ratio.

- Touch the Menu to configure the video player settings.

Sound Recorder

Use Sound Recorder to record voice memos and listen to them later.

1. Touch Home > APPS > Sound Recorder.
2. Touch to start recording. During recording, you can do the following:

▶ Touch / to pause or continue the recording.
▶ Touch ✗ > Delete to cancel the recording.

1. Touch to stop recording. The Spro2 automatically saves the memo. Touch to play it immediately, or touch or at the top right corner to share or delete the recording.

NOTE: Touch My records at the upper right of the screen to see all the voice memos. Touch and hold a memo to rename, share, or delete it.

More Apps

Camera

Touch Home > APPS > Camera to take pictures or record video clips after connecting a webcam to the Spro2 through the USB jack.

NOTE: Before using the webcam, slide the status bar down to open the notification panel. Ensure "Connect to USB stick" is highlighted.

Dolby

Touch Home > APPS tab > Dolby to select or customize a Dolby profile. You can also touch to turn off Dolby.

Downloads

The Downloads app keeps a record of the files downloaded using the apps such as Chrome and Gmail.

Touch Home > APPS > Downloads to check the record.

• Touch a file to open it with the appropriate application.
• Touch and hold a file to delete or share it.

File Manager

Use File Manager to quickly access all of the images, videos, audio clips, and other types of files on the internal storage, the microSDHC card, and the connected USB device.

Touch Home > APPS > File Manager. Find the file by category in the CATEGORY tab, or touch DEVICE, SD CARD or USB DEVICE to browse folders and files on the internal storage, the microSDHC card, or the USB device.

• Touch folders and files to access stored items.
• Touch > Multi-Select to select items and access option icons such as to copy, to move, to share, or to delete.

- To copy or move an item, navigate to a new location and touch PASTE.

- Touch to create a new folder in the current directory.

Google Apps

• Chrome: Use the Chrome app to browse the Internet and to sync bookmarks, browsing history, and more with your Google account.
• Drive: Store files on Google servers for free after signing in to your Google account. You can access the files on computers, phones and other devices, share them, or collaborate with others.
• Gmail: Send and receive emails Using your Gmail account or other personal email accounts.
  • Google: Use Google search or get information when you

need it with Google Now.

• Google+: Socialize with friends on the Google+ online community.
• Hangouts: Chat with Google+ friends or send text or multimedia messages.
• Maps: Find locations and find your way in the world.
• Photos: Manage photos on the Spro2 and on your Google account.
• Play Books: Read eBooks downloaded from the Google Play Store. You can read books online or mark them for availability offline, so you can read them when you don't have an Internet connection.
• Play Games: Buy and play games from the Google Play Store. Share your gaming experience and progress with friends.
• Play Movies & TV: Purchase, download, and watch favorite movies and TV shows.
• Play Music: Play music on Spro2 and on your Google account.
• Play Newsstand: Purchase and read newspapers and magazines.
• Play Store: Buy and download apps, games, and other content from the Google Play Store.
  • Voice Search: Search for information with your voice.
• YouTube: Watch video clips from YouTube.com, or upload your own and share with the world.

Google Play™ Store

Touch Home > APPS > Play Store to buy or rent music, books, movies, apps, and download them to the Spro2.

NOTE: Accessible content in the Google Play Store is regional.

Browsing and Searching for Apps

To browse apps by category, touch a top-level category, such as GAMES, and touch the app from any subcategory.

To search for apps using an app's name or description, or the developer's name, touch and enter the search terms.

Downloading and Installing Apps

When you find the app, touch it to open its details screen, to display more information about the app.

1. Touch INSTALL for free apps or the price for paid apps. For paid apps, you need to sign in to your Google Wallet™ account and select a payment method.

CAUTION: After installation, some apps can access functions or a significant amount of personal data. The Play Store shows what the app can access. Touch ACCEPT to proceed, or touch Back to cancel.

1. Wait for the app to download and automatically install.

Payment must authorize before paid apps download.

A notification icon displays when the app successfully installs.

Use Home > APPS to find the new app.

Creating a Google Wallet™ Account

To create a Good Wallet account and associate it with your Google account, follow these steps:

• On the computer, go to wallet.google.com to create a Google Wallet account.
• The first time you use the Spro2 to buy an item from Google Play Store, you're prompted to enter billing information to set up a Google Wallet account.

WARNING! Secure the Spro2 to prevent others from using it without permission because after using the Google Wallet to make purchases in the Google Play Store app, the Spro2 remembers the password so you don't need to enter it.

Managing Downloads

After downloading and installing an app, you can rate it, view it in a list with other downloaded apps, and configure it to automatically update.

View Downloaded Apps

1. In the Play Store screen, touch ≡ > My apps.
2. The list of installed apps opens, touch an app to rate it, uninstall it, or request a refund.

Uninstall an App

1. In the Play Store screen, touch ≡ > My apps.
2. Touch an app to open its details screen.
3. Touch UNINSTALL > OK.

Settings

Touch Home > SETTINGS > System or Projector. SETTINGS contains most of the tools to customize and configure the Spro2.

Network

Wi-Fi

Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Network > Wi-Fi to turn Wi-Fi on or off and configure Wi-Fi connections. For more information, see Connecting to Wi-Fi ^® .

When Wi-Fi is on, touch Menu > Wi-Fi Direct in the Wi-Fi menu to share data between devices using Wi-Fi directly. For more information, see Using Wi-Fi Direct ^® .

Bluetooth

Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Network > Bluetooth to turn Bluetooth on or off and configure the Bluetooth connections. For more information, see Connecting to Bluetooth® Devices.

Virtual Hotspot

Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Network > Virtual Hotspot. You can set the Spro2 as a LAN access point. See Setting Spro2 as a Virtual Hotspot (LAN Access Point).

VPN

Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Network > VPN to set up and connect to virtual private networks. For more information, see Connecting to Virtual Private Networks.

Device

Sound

Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Device > Sound to adjust volume, toggle the sound and mute the Spro2, set up notification sound, and select system sounds. For more information, see Adjusting Volume, Switching to Silent Mode, Changing Notification Sound

Display

Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Device > Display to configure these options.

• Brightness: Set screen display brightness
• Wallpaper: Select a background image for the lock screen.
• Auto-rotate screen: Check this option to let Spro2 automatically change the orientation of some onscreen content based on the position of the device.

- Sleep: Set the inactivity time before the screen automatically turns off.

- Font size: Set the text font size on the screen.

- Pulse notification light: Set the indicator light to flash to notify you of new events, such as the arrival of a new Gmail message.

- Touch key light duration: Lets you control the backlight of the touch keys, such as Home, Back, and Menu. Choose one of these options to set the backlight duration:

▶ Last 2 seconds / Last 5 seconds: The touch keys light for 2 or 5 seconds each time you touch the screen or touch keys while the screen is on.
▶ Always on: Keep the touch keys backlight on while the screen is on.
▶ Always off: Turn off the touch keys backlight.

- Cast screen: Connect with TVs, projectors or other devices that support wireless display and project the Spro2 content wirelessly to that device. Turn on Wi-Fi, touch Menu, and check Enable wireless display in the Cast screen. For detailed introduction, refer to the device manual.

- Power key light: Check this option to turn on the Power key light.

Storage

Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Device > Storage to check memory information internal storage, the microSDHC card, and USB device when they are available.

Choose the default location for new data, such as files downloaded and voice recorded. Touch Save location and select Device or SD card to store items in the internal storage or the installed microSDHC card.

Touch Unmount SD card to unmount the microSDHC card or the USB device from the Spro2 to safely remove it while the

Spro2 is on. Touch Erase external SD card to delete all data on the microSDHC card or the USB device.

Battery

Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Device > Battery to check battery power remaining and what is using the battery.

Touch an app to adjust its settings to save battery life. For example, touch Screen > Display > Brightness to lower screen brightness.

USB Mode

Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Device > USB mode to select the USB connection type when connecting the Spro2 to a USB device or PC. For more information, see Connect the Spro2 to a Computer Using USB and Connecting to a USB Device.

Accounts

Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Device and scroll to the ACCOUNTS section to manage accounts and synchronization. Touch Add account to sign in to or create accounts on the Spro2.

Touch an account type to see the type of accounts added and adjust the accounts settings.

Local

Apps

Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Local > Apps to see apps installed on the Spro2 and manage them.

Touch an app in the DOWNLOADED, RUNNING, or ALL tab to view app information. You can stop the app, uninstall the app, or clear data and cache.

NOTE: Not all applications can be uninstalled.

Location

Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Local > Location and slide the ON/OFF switch to turn on or off location services.

Security

Touch Home > SETTINGS tab > System > Local > Security to configure options that help keep the Spro2 and data safe.

• Screen lock: Disable the screen lock or enable it with long press, pattern, PIN, or password. For more information, see Protecting the Spro2 with Screen Locks.
• Make pattern visible: Shows the pattern as you draw it. This option is available when unlock pattern is set.

• Automatically lock: Set the time for the lock protection to activate after the screen turns off. This option is available when unlock pattern, PIN or password is set.

• Power button instantly locks: Lock protection activates immediately when you press Power. This option is available when the unlock pattern, PIN, or password is set.

• Owner info: Enter the text that displays on the lock screen.
• Encrypt device: Encrypt data on the Spro2 to protect privacy. For more information, see Protecting the Spro2 with Encryption.
• Make passwords visible: Display passwords as you enter them.
• Device administrators: View or deactivate apps authorized as device administrators.
• Unknown sources: Check this option to permit installation of apps from sources other than the Play Store.
• Verify apps: Prevent or display a warning before installing apps that may cause harm.
• Storage type: Check the credential storage type.
• Trusted credentials: Display trusted CA certificates.
  • Install from SD card: Install certificates from the microSDHC card.
  • Clear credentials: Delete all certificates.

Backup and Reset

Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Local > Backup & reset to manage data backup and restore options and to reset the Spro2 to factory status.

- Back up my data: Back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and other settings to Google servers after signing in to the

Google account.

• Back up account: Set the Google account the data is backed up to.
• Automatic restore: Restore previously backed up settings and data when reinstalling an app.
• Factory data reset: Reset the Spro2 to factory default settings and erase all personal data in the Spro2 internal storage and the microSDHC card.

Language and Input

Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Local > Language & input to configure options related to system language, input methods, speech input and output, and mouse and trackpad input.

• Language: Select a language for the system.
- Spell checker: Use Android spell checker to check for spelling errors when entering text.
- Personal dictionary: Add new words to the Spro2 dictionary or remove words from the dictionary. The Spro2 uses the words for spell check and as word suggestions.
- KEYBOARD & INPUT METHODS: Configure text input settings. For more information, see Input Method Settings.

- Voice Search:

Language: Select the language to use when entering text by speaking or when speaking to search.
▶ Speech output: Control when the Spro2 speaks.

• “OK Google” Detection: When enabled, you can say “OK Google” when using the Google app rather than touching the microphone icon to initiate voice search or activity.
  ▶ Offline speech recognition: Download one or more additional language packages so you can use speech recognition when you do not have a network connection.
  ▶ Block offensive words: Hide offensive words when you use Google voice typing to transcribe your voice into text.
• Bluetooth headset: Listen for your voice input through a Bluetooth headset when it is connected to the Spro2.

• Text-to-speech output:

▶ PREFERRED ENGINE: Select the speech synthesis engine you want to use or change its settings.
▶ Speech rate: Select how quickly you want the synthesizer to speak.
▶ Listen to an example: Play a brief sample of the speech synthesizer, using current settings.
▶ Default language status: Check whether the text-to-speech output feature supports the current system language.

- Pointer speed: Select how fast the pointer/mouse should scroll when you connect Spro2 to a trackpad or mouse accessory.

Date and Time

Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Local > Date & time to set date, time, time zone, and how date and time display. You can also use network-provided data.

Accessibility

Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Local > Accessibility to configure accessibility plug-ins on the Spro2, such as using TalkBack for low-vision users.

Developer Options

Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Local > Developer options to manage settings useful for developing Android applications. The menu is hidden until you touch SW Version in the About device menu 7 times.

WARNING! The developer option settings are intended for development use only. They can cause the Spro2 and applications on it to break or misbehave.

Printing

Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Local > Printing. You can manage Google Cloud Print service or other printer plug-ins installed from the Google Play Store or the printer manufacturer.

About Device

Touch Home > SETTINGS > System > Local > About device to view Spro2's status, legal information and other information, or upgrade the system.

Projector Settings

Touch Home > SETTINGS > Projector to configure these options for the projector feature:

- Image:

▶ Focus: Turn on or off automatic focus or touch + and - to make manual adjustment.
Keystone: Turn on or off automatic keystone distortion adjustment or adjust it manually to correct image during a tilted projection.
▶ Brightness: Adjust projection brightness.

NOTE: The projection brightness can be set to high only when the charger is plugged in to the Spro2.

▶ Color correction: Adjust projection color.

- Mode:

Source: Turn on HDMI or Miracast as the projection source.
LABB: Enable or disable the Local Area Brightness Boost feature or adjust its level. The projector can adaptively gain up regions of an image that are dim relative to the average picture level.

▶ CAIC: Enable or disable the Content-Adaptive Illumination Control feature. The projector can

automatically adjust illumination power to consume less battery while maintaining constant image brightness.

• Ceiling Projection: Enable this feature to rotate the projection 180 degrees. This is useful when to put the Spro2 upside down during projection, for example, when the device is installed on the ceiling.
  ▶ Rear Projection: Enable this feature when to project content for viewers on the other side of the screen.

- Control:

▶ Projector: Turn on or off the projector.
▶ Projector floating button: Show or hide the projector floating button on the screen. Touch the button to open a pop-up window to control the projection options, or drag the button to the place you need on the screen.
▶ Gesture switch: After enabling this feature, swipe up or down using THREE fingers on the screen to turn on or off the projector when the Spro2 screen is on.
▶ Remote Control: Enable this feature before using the remote control app in the mobile device to control Spro2. For more information, see Remote Control.
▶ Eye protection: Allows the Spro2 to turn off the projection temporarily when the Spro2 detects its own quick movement.
▶ Auto Projector: Enable the Spro2 to automatically turn the projector on or off the at the time you set.
▶ Restore: Restore default projector settings.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter problems while using Spro2, or if it performs abnormally, refer to this chart. If you cannot resolve the problem using the information in the chart, contact the dealer where you purchased Spro2.

Problem	Possible causes	Possible solution
Battery does not charge or the charges slow	The battery or battery charger is damaged.	Contact the dealer.
	The Spro2 temperature is below 0 °C or higher than 45 °C.	Adjust the battery charging environment to avoid extremes of temperature.
	Poor contact between Spro2 and the charger.	Check all connectors to ensure proper connection.
Shortened standby time	The battery is depleted. High temperature environments shorten, battery life.	Contact the dealer to replace the battery.
Cannot turn Spro2 on	Battery power is depleted.	Recharge the battery.
Poor Wi-Fi signal	The Wi-Fi network signal is too weak at the current location.	Move closer to the Wi-Fi hotspot or a location without an obstacle between the Spro2 and the hotspot.
The Spro2 crashes, reboots, freezes, or cannot power on	Some third-party software is not compatible with the Spro2.	Uninstall software that may be causing the problem.
		Upgrade the Spro2's software.
		Reset the Spro2 to factory status.

For Your Safety

General Safety

	The device can produce a loud sound.		Don't use at gas stations.
	Avoid contact with anything magnetic.		The device may produce a bright or flashing light.
	Keep away from pacemakers and other electronic medical devices.		Don't dispose of the device in fire.
	Turn off when near explosive materials or liquids.		To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume levels for long periods.
	Only use approved accessories.		Avoid extreme temperatures.
	Don’t take the device apart.		Avoid contact with liquids. Keep the device dry.

Radio Frequency (RF) Energy

This device is designed and manufactured not to exceed the emission limits for exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy set by the Federal Communications Commission of the United States.

The exposure standard for wireless devices employs a unit of measurement known as the Specific Absorption Rate, or SAR. The SAR limit set by the FCC is 1.6 W/kg.

Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions accepted by the FCC with the device transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands.

During SAR testing, this device is set to transmit at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands, and placed in positions that simulate RF exposure in usage near the body with the separation of 10 mm. Although the SAR is determined at the highest certified power level, the actual SAR level of the device while operating can be well below the maximum value. This is because the device is designed to operate at multiple power levels to use only the power required to reach the wireless access point. In general, the closer you are to a wireless access point, the lower the power output.

The FCC has granted an Equipment Authorization for this

model device with all reported SAR levels evaluated as in compliance with the FCC RF exposure guidelines. SAR information on this model device is on file with the FCC and can be found under the Display Grant section of www.fcc.gov/oet/ea/fccid after searching on FCC ID: SRQ-MF97G.

For this device, the highest reported SAR value for usage near the body is 0.84 W/kg.

While there may be differences between the SAR levels of various devices and at various positions, they all meet the government requirement. SAR compliance for body operation is based on a separation distance of 15 mm between the unit and the human body. Carry this device at least 15 mm away from your body to ensure RF exposure level compliant or lower to the reported level. To support body-worn operation, choose the belt clips or holsters, which do not contain metallic components, to maintain a separation of 15 mm between this device and your body.

Always turn off the device where use of the device is prohibited. Use of the device is subject to safety measures designed to protect users and their environment.

• Always treat the device and its accessories with care and keep it in a clean and dust-free place.
• Keep the screen and projection lens clean. A dirty screen or projection lens may slow down the device's reaction to your operations or lower projection image quality.

Children

Do not leave the device or its accessories alone with young children. The device is not a toy. They might accidentally damage the device. The projection light may cause discomfort. The device contains small parts that may cause injury or become detached and create a choking hazard.
