Frequently Asked Questions - SK13130N SWAN

How do I descale the Swan SK13130N coffee machine?
Mix a descaling solution or equal parts water and white vinegar. Fill the tank, run a brew cycle without coffee, then run 2-3 cycles with fresh water to rinse.
Can I use ground coffee instead of pods?
Yes, the SK13130N uses a permanent mesh filter that works with any medium-ground coffee. Do not use pods.
Why does my coffee taste bitter?
Bitter coffee may be due to over-extraction. Use a coarser grind, less coffee, or shorten the brew time. Also, clean the machine regularly.
How often should I clean the coffee machine?
Clean the carafe and filter after each use. Descale the machine every 1-2 months depending on water hardness.
What is the maximum capacity of the water tank?
The water tank holds 1.5 liters, which can brew up to 12 cups of coffee.
Does the coffee maker have an auto shut-off feature?
Yes, the machine automatically turns off after the brewing cycle is complete to save energy and ensure safety.
Can I brew a single cup of coffee?
Yes, you can brew a single cup by using less water. The anti-drip system allows you to pause and pour a cup mid-brew.
How do I replace the permanent filter?
The permanent filter is reusable and does not need replacement unless damaged. To clean, rinse under running water or wash in soapy water.
What type of coffee grind should I use?
Use a medium-coarse grind for drip coffee machines. Too fine a grind may cause overflow or bitter taste.
Why is the machine not brewing?
Check that the water tank is filled, the carafe is properly placed, and the machine is plugged in. If the indicator light is off, press the power switch.

The appliance will cut off the power automatically after around 40 minutes if it has not been manually disconnected at the completion of brewing. For an optimum coffee taste, serve it just after brewing.
