How do I fill the water tank?

Open the water inlet cover and fill with tap water, but do not exceed the MAX level. For better results, use distilled water if tap water is hard.

What temperature setting should I use for different fabrics?

Use low temperature for synthetic fabrics (nylon, polyester), medium for wool and silk, and high for cotton and linen. Always check garment care labels.

How does the anti-drip system work?

The anti-drip system prevents water from leaking when the iron is not hot enough. It automatically stops water flow until the correct temperature is reached.

How do I use the steam boost function?

Press the steam boost button firmly to release a powerful burst of steam. Wait a few seconds between presses to allow the system to recharge. Ideal for removing stubborn wrinkles.

How do I clean and descale the iron?

Use the self-cleaning function regularly. Fill the tank with water, set iron to max temperature, unplug, and hold it horizontally while pressing the self-clean button to flush out scale. For heavy buildup, use a descaling solution.

What does the auto shut-off feature do?

The iron will automatically turn off if left unattended for 8 minutes in vertical position or 30 seconds in horizontal position. This safety feature prevents accidents.

Can I use the iron with a voltage converter?

The iron is designed for 220-240 V. Using a step-down converter may reduce performance. Check the voltage rating before use in different countries.

How do I store the iron after use?

Allow the iron to cool, empty the water tank, wrap the cord loosely, and store it upright on its heel rest. Never store it with water inside.

Why is water leaking from the soleplate?

Leaking may occur if the temperature is too low for the selected steam setting. Increase the temperature or reduce steam output. Also, ensure the tank is not overfilled.

Your Vaporella has been designed to ensure maximum ironing comfort; its quality materials make it a reliable work-mate.

The powerful jet of Vaporella steam acts on the fabrics eliminating every crease.

Therefore it is not necessary to press on or iron repeatedly. Just let the iron slide over the garment to obtain perfect ironing, saving time and effort.

With Vaporella it is possible to iron vertically to revive fabrics and take out bad smells from jackets, clothes and overcoats.

Thanks to its self-refilling system, Vaporella is quickly ready for use and does not need any interruption to your ironing for refilling the boiler.

• While refilling with water, switch off and disconnect the appliance from the mains.
• Do not use if the appliance has been dropped, has visible signs of damage or leaks.
• If ironing whilst sitting down, take care to ensure that the jet of steam is not an-

gled towards your legs. Steam can scald.

• Before connecting the appliance to the current, ensure that the continuous steam jet button is not pressed.
• Never leave the iron unattended when it is plugged in.

• Never leave the appliance exposed to the weather.

This appliance is intended for home use as a steam generator as described and in accordance with the instructions provided in this manual.

The crossed-out wastebasket symbol on the appliance means that at the end of its useful lifespan, the product must be disposed of separately

from ordinary household wastes.

The user is responsible for delivering the appliance to an appropriate collection facility at the end of its useful lifespan.

Appropriate separate collection to permit recycling, treatment and environmentally compatible disposal helps prevent negative impact on the environment and human health and promotes recycling of the materials making up the product. For more information on available collection facilities, contact your local waste collection service or the shop where you bought this appliance.

IMPORTANT

Before leaving our factory all our products are rigorously tested. This is the reason why your VAPORELLA may contain some residual water in the boiler.

PREPARATION FOR USE

• Remove the water tank (3) from the appliance (fig.1).
• Open the lid to fill the tank (4) (Fig.2).
• Fill the water tank with water up to the MAX level marked on the water tank.

NOTE: It is possible to fill the tank while it is inserted. While refilling switch off and disconnect the appliance from the mains.

This appliance has been designed to work with normal tap water.

However, since water contains limestone by nature, which may cause scaling in the long run, we recommend using a 50/50 mixture of tap water and demineralised water or treated with softening systems. To use tap water and avoid scale formation, we recommend the addition of the special natural scale removal agent Kalstop FP2003.

Absolutely do not use distilled water, dryer condensate water, perfumed water, rain water, battery water, water from air conditioning systems and the like. Do not use chemical substances or detergents.

• Close the cap again (4) and reinsert the water tank (3) until you hear the hook click.
• Connect the cable plug to an earthed power supply of the correct voltage.
• Press the ON/OFF switch (1); the ON indicator light (A) will start to flash indicating that the appliance is on Stand-by.
• To turn the appliance on, press the increase steam button “+” (6), the first steam pressure indicator light (B) will start to flash and at the same time the iron heating indicator will come on (11).
• The sound emitted on switching on your appliance and periodically during use, is due to the water refilling system and is quite normal.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Check the manufacturer's label on the garment, and interpret the symbol on the label as follows:

STEAM IRONING

• Set the iron temperature to its maximum travel on the "COTTON - LINEN" steam position (fig.3), by turning the dial (7).
• Press the increase (6) and decrease steam (5) buttons to regulate the force of the steam dispensed, depending on the type of fabric to be ironed.

Pressing button (6), the force of the steam dispensed will increase, conversely, pressing button (5) the force of the steam dispensed will decrease (Fig.4).

The steam's intensity has 4 adjustment levels:

1 indicator light (B):

Light steam, ideal for synthetic or delicate fabrics.

2 indicator lights (B):

Medium/low steam, ideal for wool and fibres.

3 indicator lights (B):

Medium/strong steam, ideal for cotton, denim and linen.

4 indicator lights (B):

Strong steam, ideal for denim and linen.

• Wait until the indicator lights (B) remain on and the iron heating indicator light (11) goes off (approximately 3 minutes).
• Push the button (10) on the iron to release bursts of steam from the holes on the sole-plate. Release the button and the steam flow stops.

NOTE: during initial operation of the iron, a few drops of water mixed with steam may come out of the soleplate until the temperature stabilises. It is advisable to direct the first jets of steam onto an old cloth until a uniform jet of steam is obtained.

CONTINUOUS STEAM JET BUTTON

- To have a continuous jet of steam, press and move the button backwards (10a) (Fig.5). The steam will continue to come out even when the button is released. To interrupt the supply, move the steam button (10a) forward (Fig 5).

IRONING WITHOUT STEAM:

- With the machine on, press the reduce steam button “-” (5) until all the indicator lights (B) are off.

By doing this, the boiler goes off and only the iron stays on.

- To dry iron, regulate the iron temperature using the slider (7) to the temperature required by the fabric (fig.3).

NOTE: In this mode, by not pressing the continuous steam button 10, the appliance goes into stand-by after 10 minutes.

To exit stand-by follow the instructions listed in the paragraph "stand-by function".

"ECO" FUNCTION

With the ECO function on, the appliance sets itself to a medium level of steam pressure, thereby optimising consumption whilst ensuring the best ironing of the hardest-wearing fabrics (cotton/jeans/linen).

ATTENTION: Do not use this mode to iron synthetic, silk or wool clothing since these materials require a lower steam pressure.

Press the ECO button (2) to activate the function, the indicator light will come on (D).

If the indicator light (D) flashes, it means that the appliance is in heating mode.

When optimum pressure is reached, the indicator light stays lit.

To exit the ECO function, press the ECO button once again (2).

FILLING THE TANK

Thanks to the self-filling function, there is no longer any need to stop and wait while the boiler fills up again.

When the water in the boiler is at minimum level, the pump is automatically activated which fills the boiler once again.

The lack of water in the tank is indicated by the flashing of the indicator light (C) and the buzzer.

To keep on working, simply restore the water level in the self-refilling tank as described in the “Preparation for use” paragraph.

PUTTING THE APPLIANCE AWAY

First ensure that the appliance has cooled down completely.

• Empty the water tank (3).
- Position the Steam flexible hose - Power cable (8) and power supply cable (9) in the relative storage areas (14) located on the sides of the appliance (Fig.6).

LOCKING AND CARRYING IRON

(ONLY MODEL FOREVER 670 ECO)

On the Vaporella Forever 670 ECO, it is possible to lock the iron so that the Vaporella can be carried by lifting it with the handle of the iron (Fig. 7).

To lock the iron it must first be set on the rear part of the rest mat (Fig.8), then lift the iron lock (15) located on the front part of the rest mat (Fig.9).

NOTE: make sure to firmly hook the iron to prevent it falling accidentally.

To release the iron return the iron lock (15) to the original position by pushing it downward.

STAND-BY FUNCTION

ENERGY SAVING

If the appliance is not used for 10 minutes (calculated from the last time key 10 was pressed), it automatically goes into stand-by mode. Both the boiler and iron are switched off.

The indicator light (A) flashes and a buzzer sounds.

To re-activate the appliance, press the increase steam button “+” (6).

KALSTOP

Water by its nature contains magnesium, mineral salts and other deposits which in hard water areas can contribute to limescale build up in the tank. In very hard water areas we recommend the use of our Kalstop FP2003, a special natural-base decalcifier which inhibits and breaks down limescale. This is a preventive against scale build-up and protects the metal walls of the boiler. Kalstop FP2003 can be found in small appliance stores, Polti service centres and on the web site www.polti.com.

CARE OF YOUR VAPORELLA

• Before attempting any maintenance operation, always disconnect the appliance from the mains.
• To clean the body of the appliance, simply use a moist cloth. Do not use solvents or detergents which may harm the body material.

PERIODIC CLEANING OF THE BOILER

• To maintain optimum performance, clean the boiler every 10/20 uses depending on the amount of limestone in the water.
• Disconnect the appliance and let it cool down for at least 2 hours.
• Empty the water tank to prevent leakage.
• Turn the appliance upside down, move the rubber cover and using a suitably sized screwdriver, unscrew the boiler cap (12) located on the bottom of the appliance (Fig. 10).
• Use the funnel (13) to pour 0,25l of cold water into the boiler.
  CAUTION: do not pour more than the specified amount of water into the boiler. Pour water slowly, being careful not to let it overflow, as this could damage the appliance (fig.11).

• Rinse out the boiler and pour the water away into the sink or into a container for collecting dirty water.

• If the water is very dirty, repeat the operation until it is clean.

• Before screwing the boiler cap (12) back on, pour 0,1l of water in.

Do not operate the equipment again with the boiler empty.

- Put the cap back on the boiler, checking that the seal is present and that the cap is screwed on properly.

- Fill the water tank again and put the cap on.

- Turn the appliance on again.

- Before ironing, release steam into the sink or another container and check that the steam is clean. This should take a few seconds.

- Resume ironing normally.

TROUBLESHOOTING
