BEFORE FIRST USE

• Ensure the fridge is unplugged from the electrical outlet when adjusting the fridge and its accessories.
• Remove the exterior and interior packaging, including bottom cushions, foam pads, tape, and protective film.
• Wipe the outside of the fridge thoroughly with a soft dry cloth and the inside with a wet, lukewarm cloth.
• Avoid placing the fridge in a narrow space or near any sources of heat, direct sunlight, or moisture.
• Do not place the fridge in a location where it can be splashed with water.
• Let air circulate freely around the fridge.
• Ensure that 10cm of free space is left on both sides, 10cm at the rear and 30cm at the top.
• Before connecting your fridge to an electrical outlet, check that the voltage stated on the rating label corresponds to the voltage in your home. A different voltage could damage the fridge.

Connecting the Fridge to Power

- Plug the power plug into an electrical outlet. Allow the fridge to sit for at least 2 hours before turning on the power.

- After turning on the power, allow the fridge to run empty for 24 hours so it can cool to the appropriate temperature.

Caution

The fridge should always be plugged in to its own individual electrical outlet, which has a voltage rating that matches the rating plate. When positioning the fridge, ensure the power cord is not trapped or damaged.

Leveling Feet

• To avoid vibration, the appliance must be levelled.

- If required, adjust the leveling feet to compensate for the uneven floor.

• The front should be slightly higher than the rear to aid in closing the door.

• Leveling feet can be turned easily by slightly tipping the fridge.

- Turn the leveling feet anti-clockwise to lower the fridge, and clockwise to raise it.

1. Unplug your refrigerator and remove all food from the door shelves. Tape the door shut with masking tape.

1. Remove the left cover plate and the right top hinge cover, then unscrew the screws, and remove the right top hinge. Keep the screws to reuse.

1. Lift the fridge door up and away from the fridge.
2. Unscrew the centre hinge screws. Remove the hinge, then lift the freezer door up and away from the fridge. Save the screws to reuse.

1. Unscrew the bottom hinge screws, then remove the bottom hinge from the bottom right side of the fridge.

2. Unscrew the hinge shaft from the right side of the bottom hinge and move it to the left side, then secure the bottom hinge to the bottom left side of the fridge, using the screws you removed previously.

1. Dismantle the sleeves from the top right of doors and hole cap from top left of doors and assemble them on the other side.

2. Remove the fridge door stopper and install it on the other side of the door. Remove the freezer door self-locking block and stopper and save them to reuse. Take out the left self-locking block and stopper from the accessory bag in the refrigerator and install on the left of the door.

1. Put the freezer door down on the bottom hinge vertically, then take out the centre hinge for the other side from the accessory bag. Assemble the centre hinge.

1. Put the fridge door down on the centre hinge vertically, then take out the top hinge and cover from accessory bag. Assemble the top hinge, hinge cover and hole cover.

Energy Saving Tips

- Do not place the fridge near stove tops, radiators, or other sources of heat. If the ambient temperature is high, the compressor will run more frequently and for longer, resulting in increased energy consumption.

- Ensure there is sufficient ventilation at the base, sides, and back of the fridge.

- The arrangement of drawers, shelves and trays as shown in the Overview offers the most efficient use of energy and should be retained. To obtain a larger storage space (e.g., for large refrigerated/frozen goods), the middle drawers and shelves can be removed. The top and bottom drawers and shelves should be removed last if necessary. An evenly filled fridge/freezer contributes to optimal energy use.

- Allow warm food to cool before placing it in the fridge/freezer. Food that has already cooled down increases the energy efficiency.

- Allow frozen food to defrost in the fridge. The coldness of the frozen food reduces the energy consumption in the fridge and increases the energy efficiency.

- Open the doors as briefly as necessary to minimise how much cold air is lost. Opening the door briefly and closing it properly reduces energy consumption.

- Set the temperature no colder than necessary to optimise energy use.

- The door gaskets must be perfectly intact so that the doors close properly, and energy consumption is not increased unnecessarily.

OPERATION

Fridge Temperature

- Press the fridge temperature button to adjust the temperature in the fridge.

- As you cycle through the 3 fridge temperature settings, the corresponding indicator will illuminate.

- When first powered on, the fridge will be on the middle temperature setting.

Freezer Temperature

- Press the freezer temperature button to adjust the temperature in the freezer.

- As you cycle through the 3 freezer temperature settings, the corresponding indicator will illuminate.

- When first powered on, the freezer will be on the middle temperature setting.

Alarm

- The alarm may sound due to an error or if the fridge or freezer door is open for 120 seconds.

- Press the alarm/power button or close the door to turn the alarm off.

Automatic Ice Maker

The freezer will start making ice after 40 seconds of normal operation.

Standby Mode

- Press and hold the alarm/power button for 3 seconds to enter standby mode. The fridge, freezer and display will all turn off.

- Press and hold the alarm/power button for 3 seconds to return to normal operation.

Quick-freezing Mode

• The quick-freezing switch is located at the bottom of the back wall of the fridge.

- When the switch is positioned to the right, quick-freeze mode is turned off.

- When the switch is positioned to the left, quick-freeze mode is turned on.

Note:

Quick-freezing mode is designed to maintain the nutritional value of the food in the freezer by freezing food in a short time. If a large amount of food is frozen at one time, it is recommended to turn on the quick-freezing function before putting the food in.

Storing Food

Freezer:

• The freezer is used to freeze food, store frozen food and make ice cubes.
• Do not put fresh and frozen food next to each other. The frozen food may thaw.
• When freezing large amounts of fresh food (such as meat or fish), divide it into small pieces before putting it in the freezer to speed up freezing.

- Abide by the storage times recommended by food manufacturers on the packaging. If there is no information on the packaging, food should not be frozen for longer than three months from the date of purchase.

- When purchasing frozen food, make sure that it was frozen at a suitable temperature and that the packaging is not damaged.

- Frozen food should be kept in suitable individual packages to ensure that adjacent food cannot be contaminated.

- Consume thawed and defrosted foods immediately, do not refreeze them.

- In case of prolonged power failure or malfunction, remove the stored frozen food and check if it is still edible, then store them in a sufficiently cool place or in another appliance.

- To defrost food, remove it from the freezer and let it defrost at room temperature or in the fridge. To defrost food quickly, you can use the defrost function on your microwave, for example.

- If you only want to defrost part of a pack, remove the portion you need and immediately close the rest of the pack. In this way, you will avoid ‘freezer burn’ and will reduce ice formation on the remaining foods.

Fridge:

- To reduce moisture and subsequent ice build-up, never put liquid into the fridge in unsealed containers. Frost tends to concentrate in the coolest parts of the evaporator. Storing uncovered liquids results in a more frequent need for defrosting.

- Never put warm foods in the fridge. These should first cool down at room temperature to ensure adequate air circulation.

- Foods or food containers should not touch the back wall of the fridge because they could freeze to the wall.

- Do not regularly open the door.

- Meat and fish (in packaging or plastic) can be placed in the fridge and consumed in 1–2 days.

- Fruit and vegetables can be placed in the fruit and vegetables box without packaging.

CLEANING & CARE

Caution

• Disconnect the fridge from the electrical outlet before undertaking any routine maintenance. Allow at least 5 minutes before restarting the fridge, as frequent starting may damage the compressor.
• Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other than those recommended by Kogan.com.
• Do not try to repair, disassemble or modify the appliance by yourself. If repair is needed, contact Kogan.com.
• Check the door gasket regularly to make sure there is no debris. Clean the door gasket with a soft cloth dampened with soapy water or diluted detergent.
• The interior of the fridge should be cleaned regularly to avoid odour.
• Use a soft cloth or sponge to clean the inside of the fridge, with two tablespoons of baking soda and warm water.
• Then rinse with water and wipe clean. After cleaning, open the door and let it air dry before turning on the power.
• For areas that are difficult to clean, such as narrow gaps or corners, it is recommended to wipe them regularly with a soft rag or brush, and when necessary, combined with auxiliary tools to ensure bacteria does not accumulate in these areas.
• Remove the dust on the back of the fridge at least once a year to avoid a fire hazard and to conserve energy.
• Wipe the outer surface of the fridge with a soft cloth dampened with soapy water and then wipe dry.
• Do not use hard brushes, steel balls, wire brushes, abrasives, organic solvents (such as alcohol, acetone, banana oil, etc.), boiling water, acid, or alkaline items, which may damage the fridge.

Cleaning the Door Shelves

- According to the arrows in the figure below, use both hands to squeeze the shelf and push it upward to take it out.

- After cleaning the shelf, reinstall it on the door in accordance with your height requirements.

Raise the shelf upward at the back to remove it.

Cleaning the Fruit and Vegetable Box

1. Remove the contents of the box.
2. Hold the handle of the box and pull it out completely until it stops.
3. Lift the box up and remove it by pulling it out.

1. Push the wheels upward to detach them from the grooves. Clean the fruit and vegetable box, wheels or grooves as needed.

Defrosting

Although this appliance automatically defrosts, a layer of frost may occur on the freezer's interior walls if the freezer door is opened frequently or kept open too long. If the frost is too thick, it will need to be defrosted. To do so:

1. Remove existing food from the freezer and fridge.
2. Unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet and leave the doors open. Ventilate the room thoroughly to accelerate the defrosting process.
3. When defrosting is completed, clean your freezer as described above.

Note:

• Do not use sharp objects to remove frost from the freezer.
• Only after the interior is completely dry should the appliance be switched back on.

Out of Operation

Power failure: In the case of a power outage, even if it is in summer, foods inside the fridge can be kept for several hours. Reduce the number of times the door is opened and do not add any extra fresh food into the fridge.

Long-time non-use: The fridge should be unplugged and cleaned, and the doors left open to prevent odour.

Moving:

1. Remove all items from the fridge.
2. Disconnect the power plug and fix it to the power plug hook at the rear or on top of the fridge.
3. Tape the shelves and doors closed and tighten the leveling feet.
