Installation status

Ensure that the following installation requirements have been satisfied.

The product should be installed on an even, level floor. There should be no objects blocking the air intake and outlet.

The installation site should be dry and there should be no inflammable substances around it. The product should be installed at least 5 cm (15 cm is recommended) from the wall. ▶ Before using the product for the first time and when replacing the integrated PM2.5/deodorization filter, make sure to remove the plastic packaging of the filter.

Power plug and power outlet

▶ Be sure to use a dedicated 230V electrical outlet. (When the power is applied, the product enters the standby state.) ▶ Unplug the power plug if it will not be used for a long period of time.

General information about the product

Be sure to install the filters before using the product and replace the filters when they start emitting a strange odor.

This product is highly efficient for deodorizing household odors such as ammonia, as well as formaldehyde (the main cause of sick building syndrome), VOCs etc. However, deodorization function of the air purifier is effective when air is penetrates through the filter. Therefore when there's excessive odor in your room, ventilate the room first and use the air purifier afterwards to eliminate remaining odors for more effective deodorization. ▶ If you operate the air purifier without the filters, you cannot expect any air purification effect. If the filters are contaminated, the air purification performance will be degraded. If the filters are seriously dirty or emit a bad odor or the airflow from the product decreases significantly, replace the filters.

Avoid operating the air purification system when cooking food that generates a strong odor such as fish.

▶ Otherwise, the lifetime of the deodorization filter may be significantly decreased and the deodorization filter may become contaminated by the odor. ▶ When the integrated PM2.5/deodorization filter, is contaminated by surrounding odors and the odors can be smelt when the air purification filter operates, please replace the filter as it has reached its end of life.

Please close the windows and doors when operating the product.

▶ Otherwise, the air purification performance is degraded.

▶ The main noxious gas that cannot be removed: Carbon monoxide (CO) ▶ Concentration level of carbon dioxide may increase if you operate the product for a long time with windows closed. Therefore, ventilate the room regularly between use. When filter is saturated with just a weak odor, ventilating the room will help get rid of saturated odor.

Using the filters

▶ Before you use the product for the first time, remove the plastic packaging from the integrated PM2.5/deodorization filter. ▶ If you operate the air purifier without the filters, you cannot expect any air purification effect.

If the filter clean/replacement indicator (3 sec) blinks, replace the integrated PM2.5/deodorization filter.

(The integrated PM2.5/deodorization filter removes fine, invisible particles, gas and odor particles from the air. Postponing the filter clean/replacement on the basis of a visual evaluation is not a desirable plan. The filter clean/replacement cycle is the maximum usage period of the filter. The actual clean/replacement cycle may vary depending on the operating environment.)

If a strange odor is coming from the product, the airflow from the product becomes weak or the recommended clean/replacement cycle is reached, make sure to replace the integrated PM2.5/deodorization filter. ▶ Cleaning the Pre filter frequently improves the performance of the air purifier and helps keep the indoor air clean. For the installation order and how to install the filters, refer to the Inserting the filters section in the Cleaning and Maintenance chapter.

▶ Before replacing the filters, make sure to turn off the power.

Removing the back cover of the product

Hold the left and right edges of the back cover, pull it forward slightly (①) and then lift it up (②) to separate it.

Mounting the back cover of the product

Insert the hooks of the back cover into the grooves at the bottom of the main body (①) and press the edges of the back cover so that it fits into 8 holes (②) of the main body.

▶ If the hooks of the back cover is not properly locked into the grooves, back cover can not be assembled properly.

Cleanness indicator

• Shows the current cleanness of the air through the dust and gas sensors. • The cleanness indicator operation (Polluted) Red → Yellow → Green → Blue (Clean) - Status of the cleanness indicator may change often or may not change for long time depending on the surrounding environment. There is no problem with the product.

Press the button to start the air purifier operation.

The air purifier turns on with a ringing sound.

▶ When the product turns on for the first time, it starts operating in air purification mode (airflow speed: Weak).

If the power is turned off and then on again, the product operates based on the last settings.

The cleanliness indicator and the selected function indicator are selected.

Press the button to select an operating mode.

▶ Whenever this button is pressed, the mode changes in the following order: Weak → Sleep → Auto → Strong. The cleanliness indicator displays as the original status and the function indicator displays as the selected operation mode. When the unit is running in Auto mode, the air is automatically kept clean by the air purifier regardless of the surrounding dust and odors. ▶ If Sleep mode is selected, only the Sleep mode indicator is turned on (dimly).

Sleep mode

This mode allows users to sleep comfortably in a pleasant, peaceful environment.

When the air purifier is working, press the [button to set Sleep mode and light] is on.

▶ Whenever this button is pressed, the mode changes in the following order: Weak → Sleep → Auto → Strong. The cleanliness indicator is turned off and only the Sleep mode indicator is turned on dimly.

Virus Doctor function

It achieves the degerming effect by releasing ions and surrounding the airborne hazardous substances to damage the hydrogen bond of their protein structure.

• Under sleep mode, the Virus Doctor function cannot be selected. - When the filter clean/replacement indicator blinks, though the working status of the Virus Doctor function will not be displayed, it can be turned on or off by the [ / 3 sec] button. After the filter clean/replacement indicator resets, the working status of the Virus Doctor function will be displayed again.

Integrated PM2.5/deodorization filter replacement alarm function

If the filter clean/replacement indicator blinks while using the air purifier, replace the integrated PM2.5/deodorization filter and hold the [ //scc ] button for 3 seconds or longer to reset the alarm.

NOTE

• Once the filter clean/replacement indicator blinks, it remains on until you press and hold the [//Dsec] button for 3 seconds (until hearing a ringing sound) to reset the alarm.
• If you replace the filter due to a strange odor before the filter clean/replacement indicator blinks, press and hold the [/sed] button for 3 seconds (until hearing a ringing sound) to reset the alarm.

Button lock function

This function prevents the buttons from being pressed by mistake or by children.

The [button locks the buttons.

The [☐] button locks the buttons with a ringing sound when it is pressed for 3 seconds or longer. ▶ When the button lock function is selected, none of the buttons work. ▶ To unlock the buttons, press and hold the button for 3 seconds or longer again. The buttons are unlocked with a ringing sound.

Cleaning and maintenance

- When cleaning, please be sure to turn off the air purifier and unplug the power plug from the power socket on the wall.

Cleaning the exterior

▶ Dip a towel in warm water and wring it out before using it to clean the product.

• Do not wipe the control panel with an alkali detergent. - Do not clean the surface of the air purifier with sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid or organic solvent (thinner, kerosene, acetone, etc.), or attach a sticker to the unit. This may damage the surface of the product.

Storing the product

▶ If the product is not going to be used for an extended period of time, put it into a box and store it in a dry, indoor site.

Cleaning the sensor

When the air purifier is not operating, hold the left and right edges of the back cover, pull it forward slightly (①) and then lift it up (②) to separate it.

Carefully clean the lens and the gas sensor with a cotton swab.

Insert the hooks of the back cover into the grooves at the bottom of the main body (①) and press the edges of the back cover so that it fits into the 8 holes (②) of the main body.

• Do not clean the sensors using volatile substances (alcohol, acetone, etc.). Use only water.
• If the dust sensor lens or the gas sensor is contaminated by a foreign substance (dust), the cleanness indicator of the air purifier may be stuck in the polluted state. In this case, clean the sensors.
• Clean the sensors at least once every 6 months. However, the cleaning period should be different depending on the operating environment and the operating time. Therefore, cleaning should be more frequent in places with lots of dust.
• The cleanness indicator on the control panel may not change from the polluted state when the air purifier is operating in a place with heavy dust or smells that may be beyond its capability. (In this case, open the window to ventilate, or use the air purifier with appropriate capacity.)
• Do not use any spray type product near the air purifier.
• Turn off the power when cleaning the sensors. If you clean the sensors while the power is on, misdetection may occur from the sensor and the cleanness indicator may not work properly.

Cleaning the Pre filter

▶ If the filter clean/replacement indicator is turned on while the air purifier is operating, clean the Pre filter.

Pull the back cover forward by holding the left and right edges of the cover. Remove the Pre filter by pressing down the top clip of the filter with your finger.

Clean the Pre filter under running water.

- If the filter is very dirty, clean the filter with a warm neutral detergent solution.

Fit the Pre filter into the bottom holes and then insert the top clip.

Dry the filter completely in the shade.

- When drying the Pre filter, do not dry it under direct sunlight.

Insert the hooks of the back cover into the grooves at the bottom of the main body (①) and press the edges of the back cover so that it fits into the 8 holes (②) of the main body.

NOTE

• Clean the Pre filter at least once every two weeks. However, since the cleaning cycle is determined by the operating environment and the operating period, clean the filter more frequently when the air purifier is operating in a dusty environment.
• When the filter is heavily contaminated with dust, it is advisable to clean the dust first with a vacuum cleaner followed by water.

Replacing the integrated PM2.5/deodorization filter

If the filter replacement indicator blinks, do not reuse it after washing it and replace the integrated PM2.5/deodorizing filter immediately.

If there is a strange odor coming from the integrated PM2.5/deodorization filter or the air flow from the air outlet becomes too weak, purchase a new integrated PM2.5/deodorization filter and replace the old one.

Insert the hooks of the back cover into the grooves at the bottom of the main body (①) and press the edges of the back cover so that it fits into the 8 holes (②).

Insert the new integrated PM2.5/deodorization filter into the main unit and then insert the Pre filter.

- Be sure to wear gloves before replacing the integrated PM2.5/deodorization filter. Otherwise, the filter may get your hands dirty with impurities.

Turn on the product and press and hold the [ / (sec) ] button for 3 seconds.

- Once the indicator stops blinking and a ringing sound is heard, the unit will return to normal operation.

Inserting the filters

Insert the integrated PM2.5/deodorization filter into the filter frame and insert the Pre filter.

Integrated PM2.5/deodorization filter - The PM2.5 filter effectively removes fine particles as well as cigarette smoke particles from the air. - The PM2.5 filter has been treated with an anti-allergen and effectively removes allergens from the air. • The deodorization filter effectively removes daily odors such as bathroom and food odors.

- You can purchase a new filter from a nearby Samsung Electronics service center or electronics mall.

- Replacement interval of the Integrated filter is between minimum 6 months to maximum 1 year based on 24 hours of operation per day. (You can use the filter longer if the daily operation hours are shorter.) Replacement interval varies due to level of air pollution. If there's heavy dust in the area it will result in heavier accumulation in the filter which will shorten the interval. Filter replacement indicator will be turned on and notified you when it's time to replace the filter. However, if the filter is too dirty, or if it smells, or if you feel the fan speed has gotten gradually weaker, you can replace it even though the filter replacement indicator has not turned on.

• When you replace the integrated PM2.5/deodorization filter, remove the plastic packaging before installing the filter.
• The filter replacement frequency differs depending on the operating mode because the air flow rate is subject to the operating mode.
• If you replace the filter even though the filter clean/replacement indicator did not blink, press and hold the [ //soc ] button for 3 seconds (until hearing a ringing sound) to reset the alarm.

• Do not wet the integrated PM2.5/deodorization filter. Keep the filters away from moisture while the air purifier is in use.
• Do not use the air purifier in an area where cooking is done for a long period of time (especially while cooking) as this will reduce the lifespan and replacement time of the filter. Open the windows to ventilate the room while cooking. Once cooking is done, close the windows and use the air purifier to remove remaining odors.
• Replacement period of the filter may differ depending on the operating environment.

	Is the power plug unplugged?	Insert the power plug into the wall outlet correctly and operate the product again.
	Is there a problem with the wall outlet or the power strip?	Try using another wall power outlet or power strip.
The filter clean/ replacement indicator is blinking continuously.	Did you reset the alarm by pressing and holding the [ / (sec) ] button for 3 seconds after cleaning or replacing a filter?	After cleaning or replacing a filter, you need to reset the alarm by pressing the filter reset button.
There is a strange odor.	Is the Pre filter contaminated?	Clean the Pre filter.
	Is there a strange odor coming from the integrated PM2.5/ deodorization filter?	Purchase a new integrated PM2.5/ deodorization filter and replace the old filter with the new one.User needs to undertake filter replacement cost produced during the period of free maintenance.

There is a strange sound coming from the product.	• Is the sound like a hissing sound?	• A hissing noise may be heard while ions are being generated. This noise is normal.• If you want to turn off the function, press the [ [IMAGE] ] button.
	• Check whether the product has been moved during operation.	• If the product is moved during operation, noise may occur.• Before moving the product, turn off the product.
	• Check if the product is horizontally leveled.	• Make sure the product is horizontally leveled.
	• Check if there's any foreign substance in inside of the product.	• Please contact the Samsung service center
	• Do you hear strange grinding, or jamming sound?	• Please contact the Samsung service center.

The cleanness indicator is permanently turned on red.	·Is there dust or some smelly substance that you cannot locate in the room? ·Does the color of the indicator change when the unit is moved to a clean room? ·Do you clean the dust and gas sensors regularly?	·Clean the dust and gas sensors. ·If the indicator stays red even after cleaning the dust and gas sensors and moving the unit to a clean room, it may be because of a sensor or wiring error. In this case, please contact the service center.
Although the cleanness indicator is kept red, the airflow speed does not change.	·Isn't Auto mode selected?	·Set the mode to Auto mode. When the mode is set to Strong, Weak or Sleep mode, the airflow speed does not change.
The indicator is odd.	·Is the Auto mode indicator (AUTO) blinking?	·This indicates that the unit is out of order. Please contact the service center.
