What type of fuel does the Simpson SIG22PK generator use?

The generator uses regular unleaded gasoline. Do not use E15 or E85 fuels.

How do I start the generator?

Ensure the generator is on a level surface, turn the fuel valve to ON, set the choke to CLOSE, pull the recoil starter handle, then gradually open the choke as the engine warms up.

What is the oil capacity and recommended oil type?

Oil capacity is 0.6 L. Use SAE 10W-30 for general use, or 5W-30 for cold temperatures.

How often should I change the oil?

Change the oil after the first 20 hours of use, then every 50 hours or annually, whichever comes first.

Can I run the generator in the rain?

No. Never operate the generator in rain or wet conditions. Use it only in a dry, well-ventilated area under a canopy if needed.

What does the low oil shutdown feature do?

It automatically stops the engine when oil level is too low to prevent engine damage. This is a safety feature.

How do I maintain the air filter?

Clean the foam air filter every 100 hours with soapy water, dry it, and lightly oil it before reinstalling. Replace if damaged.

Can I connect the generator to my house panel?

Only through a properly installed transfer switch by a qualified electrician. Never backfeed through a regular outlet.

What is the noise level of this generator?

The noise level is approximately 65 dBA at 7 meters, which is relatively quiet for a conventional generator.

How do I store the generator for long periods?

Drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, remove the spark plug and add a teaspoon of oil into the cylinder, then pull the starter slowly to coat the cylinder. Store in a dry, covered area.

Thank you for purchasing this product. The Parallel Kit is designed to connect two inverter generators to provide twice the power output to a load.

Electrocution. Contact with bare wires terminals, and connections while generator is running will result in death or serious injury.

Electrocution. Turn utility and emergency power supplies to OFF before connecting power source and load lines. Failure to do so will result in death or serious injury.

Electrocution. Verify electrical system is properly grounded before applying power. Failure to do so will result in death or serious injury.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Never connect parallel kit to a running Inverter.

Section 3 Operation and Troubleshooting

Operation and Use Questions

NOTE: Parallel kit is designed for use with two SIG2218 inverter generators.

Call SIMPSON customer service at 1-877-362-4271 with questions or concerns about equipment operation and maintenance.

Startup

Electrocution. Turn utility and emergency power supplies to OFF before connecting power source and load lines. Failure to do so will result in death or serious injury.

1. Verify SIG2218 inverter generators are ready for operation and powered OFF.
2. Verify there is no load connected to parallel kit output.
3. Connect the parallel kit to parallel outlets on both generators.

NOTE: When parallel kit is connected, do not connect loads to unused outlets on each generator.

1. Start first generator and wait for green Ready LED to illuminate.

Troubleshooting

FNA Group, warrants to the original retail purchaser that this SIMPSON brand outdoor product is free from defect in material and workmanship and agrees to repair or replace, at FNA Group's, discretion, any defective product free of charge within these time periods from the date of purchase.

90 Days if the product is used for personal, family or household use.

This warranty extends to the original retail purchaser only and commences on the date of the original retail purchase.

Any part of this product found in the reasonable judgment of FNA Group to be defective in material or workmanship will be repaired or replaced without charge for parts and labor by an authorized service center for SIMPSON brand outdoor products. (Authorized SIMPSON Service Center).

The product, including any defective part, must be returned to an authorized SIMPSON service center within the warranty period. The expense of delivering the product to the service center for warranty work and the expense of returning it back to the owner after repair or replacement will be paid by the owner. SIMPSON's responsibility in respect to claims is limited to making the required repairs or replacements and no claim of breach of warranty shall be cause for cancellation or rescission of the contract of sale of any SIMPSON brand outdoor product. Proof of purchase will be required by the dealer to substantiate any warranty claim. All warranty work must be performed by an authorized service center.

This warranty does not cover product used for rental or commercial purposes, or any other income-producing purpose.

This warranty does not cover any product that has been subject to abuse, misuse, neglect, negligence, accident, the effects of corrosion or erosion, or that has been operated in any way contrary to the operating instructions as specified in this operator's manual. This warranty does not apply to any damage to the product that is the result of improper maintenance or to any product that has been altered or modified. The warranty does not extend to repairs made necessary by normal wear or by the use of parts or accessories which are either incompatible with the SIMPSON brand outdoor product or adversely affect its operation, performance, or durability.

ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE STATED WARRANTY PERIOD. ACCORDINGLY, ANY SUCH IMPLIED WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR OTHERWISE, ARE DISCLAIMED IN THEIR ENTIRETY AFTER THE EXPIRATION OF THE 90 DAY WARRANTY PERIOD.
