THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING GENARAY

The Genaray RBF-20 flexible LED is a unique lighting solution for photographers on the go. The feather-light 20-inch diameter array features a 672-count of daylight and tungsten LEDs that provide up to 500 lumens of bicolor light. The LED array mounts onto a light stand or tripod with its included X-bracket and ballhead mount. But it's also designed with rings and touch-connect strips so it can hang on a wall or a picture hook.

PRECAUTIONS

• Please read and follow these instructions, and keep this manual in a safe place.
• Keep this unit away from water and any flammable gases or liquids.
• Make sure the unit is powered off when plugging it into a power source.
• Use only the correct, recommended voltage.

• Handle the unit with care.

• Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the equipment. Doing so will void the warranty, and Genaray will not be responsible for any damage.

• Do not stare directly at the light when it's powered on.
• Clean the unit with only a soft, dry cloth.

ASSEMBLING AND MOUNTING THE RBF-20CONTENTS I

1. Spread the arms of the X-bracket so they form right angles, and tighten the bracket locking knob until secure.
2. Place the LED facedown on a soft surface.
3. Fit each bracket arm into the corresponding bracket sleeves on the back of the light. Slightly bend the last two arms in order to fit them into the sleeves so the light is tightly spread across the bracket.

1. Loosen the locking knob, and place the light and bracket assembly onto a light stand with a 5/8-inch stud.
2. Tighten the locking knob until secure.

USING THE RBF-20 WITHOUT THE BRACKET

Use the rings on the back of the light to hang the light on a nail or picture hook.

Alternatively, use the touch-connect strips on the outside of the bracket sleeves to attach the light to another touch-connect strip on a wall or other surface.

POWERING THE RBF-20

AC POWER

Important Ⓐ️

The RBF-20 is a multivoltage fixture capable of running on 100 to 240 V, 50/60 Hz. The included cable has a 120 V, 50 Hz. To use this fixture with other voltages, you must use a plug adapter (sold separately).

1. Use the AC power cord to connect the AC adapter to an outlet.
2. Align the 3-pin connector with the controller's power input. Make sure the notches on the connectors match up. Insert the 3-pin AC adapter output cable into the controller's port until it clicks.
3. Connect the 4-pin controller output cable to the light's power cord, and turn the locking ring until secure.

To move the controller and AC adapter out of the way, wrap the V-mount strap around the AC power adapter, and insert it into the controller's battery plate. Use the included safety cable to hang them from your light stand.

BATTERY POWER

1. Attach a V-mount battery to the controller by sliding the battery into the V-mount plate until it locks.
2. Make the same connection from the controller to the light as described in step 3 of AC Power.
3. Connect the 4-pin controller output cable to the light's power cord, and turn the locking ring until secure.

The percentage of remaining battery power will appear on the controller's LED screen.

AUTO MODE MANUAL MODE

In auto mode, the levels of the daylight and tungsten LEDs adjust automatically as the color temperature changes.

When it's first powered on, the RBF-20 defaults to auto mode.

The color temperature knob controls the setting from 2750 to 6500 K in 100 K increments.

The brightness knob controls the power output from 10% to 100% in 5% increments.

In manual mode, the brightness level of the daylight and tungsten LEDs can be adjusted independently.

Press the color temperature button. The LCD switches to the manual mode screen.

• The tungsten LED's brightness level (WW) is controlled by the color temperature knob.
• The daylight LED's brightness level (CW) is controlled by the brightness knob.

To exit manual mode, press the color temperature knob, and the auto mode screen will appear. The light will return to the most recent settings.

ATTACHING THE DIFFUSER

1. Remove the diffuser from its carry pouch, and unfold it.
2. Press the diffuser's touch-connect fabric to the touch-connect strip on the edge of the light.
3. Close any gaps along the edge of the diffuser to prevent light spill.

ATTACHING THE SOFTBOX, DIFFUSER, AND GRID

1. Form a ring with the softbox, putting the silver material on the interior, and press the touch-connect strips together.
2. Attach the softbox to the light by pressing the touch-connect material on the edge of the softbox to the touch-connect strip on the edge of the light.

1. Adjust the softbox to close any gaps in the connection and prevent light spill.
2. Attach the diffuser to the wide touch-connect strip around the interior of the softbox.

Note: If you plan on using the grid with this setup, attach the diffuser to the inner portion of the touch-connect strip to leave room for the grid.

This Genaray product is warranted to the original purchaser to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal consumer use for a period of one (1) year from the original purchase date or thirty (30) days after replacement, whichever occurs later. Genaray's responsibility with respect to this limited warranty shall be limited solely to repair or replacement, at Genaray's discretion, of any product that fails during normal use of this product in its intended manner and in its intended environment. Inoperability of the product or part(s) shall be determined by Genaray. If the product has been discontinued, Genaray reserves the right to replace it with a model of equivalent quality and function.

This warranty does not cover damage or defect caused by misuse, neglect, accident, alteration, abuse, improper installation or maintenance. EXCEPT AS PROVIDED HEREIN, GENARAY MAKES NEITHER ANY EXPRESS WARRANTIES NOR ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. This warranty provides you with specific legal rights, and you may also have additional rights that vary from state to state.

To obtain warranty coverage, contact the Genaray Customer Service Department to obtain a return merchandise authorization ("RMA") number, and return the defective product to Genaray along with the RMA number and proof of purchase. Shipment of the defective product is at the purchaser's own risk and expense.
