Frequently Asked Questions - SATPT-40 Scanstrut

What tools are needed to install the SATPT-40?
You will need a 10.5 mm drill for mounting holes, a 50 mm or 60 mm hole cutter for the cable loom, and a socket set for M10 bolts.
Does the SATPT-40 include mounting bolts?
No, the kit does not include bolts. You need to purchase 4 x M10 stainless steel bolts, large washers, and nuts separately.
What is the maximum cable diameter that fits through the cable exit?
The cable exit hole should be cut to 50 mm (2 inches) or 60 mm (2.4 inches) in diameter, accommodating most marine cable looms.
Can the SATPT-40 be mounted on a curved surface?
The base is flat; for curved surfaces, you may need a custom shim or mount to ensure a watertight seal.
How do I ensure a waterproof seal during installation?
Use the included foam Base Seal (part 19050) between the mount and mounting surface. Apply marine sealant around bolt holes for extra protection.
What is the recommended torque for the M10 bolts?
Tighten bolts to 15-20 Nm (11-15 ft-lbs) or as recommended by your deck/arch manufacturer. Over-tightening may damage the base.
Is the SATPT-40 compatible with Starlink antennas?
The SATPT-40 is designed for satcom and TV antennas with standard mounting patterns. Check your antenna's bolt pattern; adapters may be needed.
How often should I inspect the mount?
Inspect at least every 3 months for corrosion, loose bolts, or damage. After storms or heavy use, check sooner.
Can I use the SATPT-40 for a radar antenna?
No, the SATPT-40 is specifically for satcom and TV antennas. For radar, use a dedicated Radar PowerTower model.
What is the height of the SATPT-40?
The height is approximately 200 mm (7.9 inches) from base to top plate.
