Frequently Asked Questions - TRM012 Audac

What is the Audac TRM012?
The TRM012 is a line transformer kit designed for use with VEXO series speakers (VEXO110, VEXO112, VEXO115). It allows impedance matching and power tapping for 70V/100V distributed audio systems.
How do I install the TRM012 transformer?
Installation must be performed by a qualified technician. Remove the backplate of the VEXO speaker, replace the standard M8 bolt with the longer M8x80mm bolt, and secure the transformer with the provided washers and rubbers. Reconnect the connectors and replace the backplate.
Which speaker models are compatible with the TRM012?
The TRM012 is compatible with VEXO110 (TRM124), VEXO112 & VEXO115 (TRM124, TRM224, TRM248). Check the specific variant for exact compatibility.
What power taps are available on the TRM124?
The TRM124 offers: Tap 1: 20.83Ω (70V/240W), Tap 2: 41.67Ω (100V/240W & 70V/120W), Tap 3: 83.33Ω (100V/120W & 70V/60W). Secondary impedance is 8Ω.
Can I daisy-chain multiple speakers using the TRM012?
Yes, the backplate includes two cable glands and an 8-pin terminal block for easy daisy-chaining. A cable up to 12 mm thick can be used.
What is the frequency response of the transformer?
The frequency response is 50 Hz - 20 kHz (±3 dB) for all TRM012 variants.
How do I select the correct power tap?
Refer to the terminal block wiring diagram and the table in the manual. The taps correspond to different impedance values for 70V or 100V lines. Ensure the total wattage of connected speakers does not exceed the tap rating.
What maintenance does the TRM012 require?
No user maintenance is required. Clean the exterior with a dry cloth. Do not use water or solvents. All servicing must be done by qualified personnel.
What safety precautions should I follow?
Use the unit indoors only. Avoid exposure to rain, moisture, heat, and vibration. Unplug during thunderstorms. Do not open the unit – there are no user-serviceable parts inside.
