Frequently Asked Questions - EZ-MXA20 RDL

What is the maximum power output of the EZ-MXA20?
The EZ-MXA20 delivers 10 Watts RMS per channel into 8 Ω speakers, or 8 Watts RMS per channel into 4 Ω speakers, switch-selectable.
Can I connect a microphone directly to the EZ-MXA20?
Yes, the EZ-MXA20 has a balanced XLR microphone input with switch-selectable phantom power (24 V) for condenser microphones.
How do I adjust the tone?
The EZ-MXA20 features bass and treble tone controls. Bass adjustment is ±9 dB at 80 Hz, and treble adjustment is -10 dB at 10 kHz.
What is the limiter for?
The integral overload limiter prevents clipping by automatically reducing gain when the output nears distortion, with an LED indicator to show activation.
Can I use the EZ-MXA20 with a computer?
Yes, you can connect a computer's audio output to the unbalanced RCA line inputs. The amplifier is suitable for computer audio in small rooms.
How do I connect speakers to the EZ-MXA20?
Connect speakers to the Left and Right output terminals. Ensure the load impedance matches the rear panel switch setting (4 Ω or 8 Ω).
What is the power supply requirement?
The EZ-MXA20 includes a power supply accepting 100 to 240 VAC. The unit itself operates on 24 Vdc supplied by the included adapter.
Is the EZ-MXA20 rack-mountable?
Yes, it mounts in a 1/3 rack width space. Optional accessories like the EZ-RA6 rack adapter or EZ-CC6 component chassis are available.
What type of warranty is provided?
RDL offers a 3-year warranty on the EZ-MXA20. Contact RDL technical support for assistance.
Can I use phantom power for dynamic microphones?
Phantom power should be switched off for dynamic microphones as it is not required and may cause damage. Only use phantom power with condenser mics requiring 24 V.
