How do I install hard drives into the enclosure?

Remove the four screws on the back panel, slide it out, and pull out the drive tray. Insert two 2.5-inch SATA HDDs or SSDs into the drive bays, aligning the SATA connectors. Secure each drive with four screws (two per side). Then slide the tray back in and replace the back panel screws.

How do I set the RAID mode?

Locate the RAID mode dip switches (Switch 1 and Switch 2) on the drive tray near the green SET RAID button. Use the chart in the manual to set the desired mode (RAID 0, RAID 1, JBOD, BIG). Then power on the tray, hold the SET RAID button for at least 10 seconds until the green LED turns red and blue LEDs blink, then release. Power off and reconnect to complete.

What RAID modes are supported?

The enclosure supports RAID 0 (striping for performance), RAID 1 (mirroring for redundancy), JBOD (both drives appear as separate disks), and BIG (spanning both drives into one large volume).

Can I use SSDs instead of HDDs?

Yes, the enclosure supports both 2.5-inch SATA HDDs and SSDs. Ensure they are the correct thickness (7mm or 9.5mm).

Does the enclosure support UASP?

Yes, it supports USB Attached SCSI Protocol (UASP) when connected to a USB 3.0 host that also supports UASP, improving transfer speeds for compatible drives.

What power supply is included?

The package includes a universal power adapter (5V DC, 2A) with interchangeable plugs for NA, EU, UK, and AUS regions. A USB to power cable (Type H barrel) is also provided.

My computer doesn't detect the enclosure. What should I do?

First, ensure the power adapter is connected and the power switch is on. Verify the USB cable is firmly connected to both the enclosure and the computer. Try a different USB port; if using USB 3.0, try a USB 2.0 port. If the drives are new, they may need initialization in Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (macOS).

Can I use the enclosure with a computer that only has USB 2.0?

Yes, the enclosure is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1, but speeds will be limited to USB 2.0 (480 Mbps) or USB 1.1 (12 Mbps).

How do I reset the RAID configuration?

To reset, set the dip switches to the desired RAID mode, then power on the enclosure and hold the green SET RAID button for at least 10 seconds until the LEDs blink. This will erase any existing RAID configuration. Be aware that changing RAID modes will erase all data on the drives.

What is the warranty period?

Hardware Installation

WARNING! Hard drives and storage enclosures require careful handling, especially when being transported. If you are not careful with your hard disk, lost data may result. Always handle your hard drive and storage device with caution. Be sure that you are properly grounded by wearing an anti-static strap when handling computer components or discharge yourself of any static electricity build-up by touching a large grounded metal surface (such as the computer case) for several seconds.

1. The back panel of the enclosure is held securely in place with four screws. Use a Philip's head screw driver to remove the screws.

NOTE: For brand new out of the box installations, this step is not required as the screws are not installed.

1. Grasp the back panel and gently slide it outward away from the enclosure to reveal the drive tray.

1. Place the drive tray on its side, so the green set RAID button is facing upward.

1. Slide a 2.5in HDD/SSD into each of the drive trays, so that the SATA plug on the drives line up with the SATA reciprocals on each of the drive bays.

1. Fix the drives into place by using a Philip's head screw driver to drive eight of the drive screws (silver) into each of the drive mounting holes on the drive tray (four on either side).

1. Set your desired RAID configuration.

The RAID mode dip switches (1 & 2), located next to the green set RAID button, enable you to set your desired RAID configuration between RAID 0, RAID 1, JBOD and BIG. Using the dip switches and the table below, set the dip switches to your desired RAID mode.

Setting Your RAID Configuration

a) Using the RAID mode dip switches, and the above table, set the device to your desired RAID Mode.

b) Power on the drive tray by connect the included power adapter from the power adapter port on the back of the drive tray, to an available power outlet, and place the power switch in the "on" position.

c) Hold the green set RAID button for at least 10 seconds, or until you see the green power LED turn red and blue LEDs begin to blink, and then release the button.

d) Your RAID configuration has now been set.

Note: To complete installation, power off the drive tray by placing the power switch in the "off" position, and disconnecting the power adapter.

7.Slide the drive tray back into the enclosure, and replace the four screws on the back panel using a Philip's head screw driver.

1. Using the included power adapter, connect the power adapter port on the enclosure to an available power outlet.

2. Connect the USB 3.0 cable from the enclosure to a USB port on the host computer system.

Your enclosure is now ready to use.
