TOOLS REQUIRED
- Panel removal tool • Phillips screwdriver
- 9/32" socket wrench • Cutting tool
CAUTION! All accessories, switches, climate controls panels, and especially air bag indicator lights must be connected before cycling the ignition. Also, do not remove the factory radio with the key in the on position, or while the vehicle is running.
DASH DISASSEMBLY KIT PREPA
- Unclip and remove the dash panel surrounding the radio. (Figure A)
- Unclip and remove the radio trim. (Figure B)
- Remove (2) 9/32" screws securing the radio, then pull down and back to release the radio. Unplug the connectors to remove the radio.
- Unclip and slide off the plastic trim piece on the top of the radio. (Figure C)
- Remove (2) 9/32" screws securing each a/c vent, then unclip and remove the vents

TION
Attention! After the sub-dash has been cut, the factory radio will no longer be able to be installed.
- Cut the sub-dash to allow room for the aftermarket radio. (Figure A)
- Attach (4) panel clips provided with the kit onto the radio trim panel. (Figure B)

KIT ASSEMBLY
- Attach the pocket to the radio brackets using the (4) #8 x 3/8" Phillips screws provided. (Figure A)
- Remove the metal DIN sleeve and trim ring from the aftermarket radio.
- Slide the radio into the bracket/pocket assembly, then secure it using the screws supplied with the radio. (Figure B)
- Secure the radio assembly to the radio housing using the (4) #8 x 3/8" Phillips screws provided. (Figure C)
- Attach the plastic trim piece removed in dash disassembly to the top of the radio housing.

- Locate the factory wiring harness and antenna connector in the dash and complete all necessary connections to the radio. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapter from Metra and/or Axxess. Test the radio for proper operation.
- Secure the completed radio assembly, and the a/c vents, to the dash using the factory screws.
a. Slide the radio assembly into the dash.
b. Wiggle the a/c vents in.
c. Secure the now complete assembly to the dash using the (6) factory 9/32" screws.
8. Reassemble the dash in reverse order of disassembly to complete the installation, using the 99-3023HG radio trim panel.
