Frequently Asked Questions - DMW-BLH7 Watson

How should I charge the Watson DMW-BLH7 battery?
Use a compatible charger designed for your camera. Refer to your camera manual for proper charging instructions. The battery may be warm during charging, which is normal.
What is the ideal storage condition for the battery?
Store the battery in a cool, dry place. For long-term storage, maintain a charge level of approximately 40% and a temperature around 59°F (15°C). Avoid freezing temperatures.
Why does the battery get warm during use?
It is normal for the battery to become warm during charging or heavy use. If it becomes excessively hot, discontinue use and allow it to cool. The battery has a safety circuit that activates at high temperatures.
What should I do if the battery is not holding a charge?
First, ensure the battery is properly charged using the correct charger. If run time has noticeably shortened, the battery may need replacement. Watson batteries have a one-year warranty.
Can I use the battery in cold weather?
The battery can operate between -10°C and 40°C (15°F to 105°F). Below -10°C, performance may be reduced. Avoid using the battery at temperatures above 40°C to prevent safety circuit activation.
Is it safe to disassemble the battery?
No. Do not attempt to open the battery case. Disassembly can cause fire, explosion, or chemical leaks. The battery contains no user-serviceable parts.
How do I maximize battery lifespan?
Fully charge before first use. Clean terminals with a dry cloth. Avoid complete discharge. For long storage, keep at 40% charge in a cool place. Remove battery from device when not in use.
What does the one-year limited warranty cover?
Watson warrants the battery to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for one year from purchase. It covers normal consumer use. Damage from misuse, abuse, or modification is not covered.
What devices are compatible with the DMW-BLH7 battery?
This battery is designed as a replacement for Panasonic DMW-BLH7 batteries, used in select Panasonic Lumix cameras. Check your camera's manual to confirm compatibility.
What should I do if the battery is damaged or leaking?
Do not use a damaged or leaking battery. Dispose of it according to local regulations for lithium-ion batteries. Contact Watson customer service if under warranty.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:

- Charge the battery pack before use. Read your camcorder or digital camera manual for charging instructions.

- When not in use, remove the battery pack from its device and store in a cool, dry place.

- Do not short circuit the terminals. This battery is protected with an internal self-resetting fuse, but short circuits may still cause severe damage to the battery. Be careful where you set the battery down.

• Under no circumstance attempt to open the battery case.
- Do not expose the battery to rain or moisture.

- Keep away from fire. Do not incinerate. Battery may explode in the presence of fire.

- Do not drop battery or expose it to strong shocks.

- Do not use at temperatures below 15°F (-10°C) or above 105°F (40°C). Use of the battery at very high temperatures will activate a safety circuit, disallowing use.

- Running time depends on the power demanded. Stated manufacturer run times are developed in simple laboratory tests of non-stop recording. Real-life use of zoom, automatic focus, tape review, etc., all demand extra power and shorten run time.

TO MAXIMIZE BATTERY PERFORMANCE

• Make sure the battery is fully charged before use.
- Clean the battery and terminals with a clean, soft, dry cloth.
• The battery may be warm during use on recharging. This is normal.
- When storing the battery for an extended period, be sure that it is not completely charged, nor completely discharged.

The ideal level is a 40% charge. This is approximate; the closer the battery is to this level, the better it will hold its charge during storage. The battery should be stored in a cool, dry place. The recommended temperature for storage is 59°F (15°C). You may store a battery in a refrigerator. Do not store batteries in a freezer.

- Remove the battery from your equipment when not in use. Some electronic equipment will draw current even when the switch is off.

- When operation time has noticeably shortened, the battery may need to be replaced.
