Frequently Asked Questions - BP-1410 Watson

How should I charge the Watson BP-1410 battery for the first time?
Before first use, fully charge the battery pack using your camcorder or digital camera charger. Refer to your device manual for specific charging instructions.
Can I use the battery while it is charging?
No, it is not recommended to use the battery while charging. Always charge the battery separately and insert it into the device only after charging is complete.
What is the ideal storage condition for the BP-1410 battery?
Store the battery in a cool, dry place at around 59°F (15°C) with a charge level of approximately 40%. You can store it in a refrigerator, but not in a freezer.
Why does my battery get warm during charging?
It is normal for the battery to become warm during charging or use. This is due to internal chemical reactions. If it becomes excessively hot, stop charging and contact support.
How long does the Watson BP-1410 battery last on a full charge?
Run time depends on the power demands of your device. Manufacturer run times are based on non-stop recording tests. Real-life use of zoom, autofocus, or playback shortens run time.
What should I do if the battery terminals get dirty?
Clean the battery and terminals with a clean, soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquids or abrasive materials.
Is it safe to leave the battery in the device when not in use?
It is recommended to remove the battery from your equipment when not in use, as some devices may draw current even when switched off, leading to over-discharge.
What is the warranty coverage for the Watson BP-1410 battery?
The battery is covered by a one-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. To claim warranty, contact Watson Customer Service for an RMA number and return the product with proof of purchase.
Can I dispose of the battery in regular trash?
No, do not dispose of Li-ion batteries in regular trash. Follow local regulations for recycling or disposal of rechargeable batteries.
What should I avoid to prevent damage to the battery?
Avoid short-circuiting terminals, exposing to rain or moisture, dropping, incinerating, opening the case, or using outside the temperature range of 15°F to 105°F (-10°C to 40°C).

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:

- Charge the battery pack before use. Read your camcorder or digital camera manual for charging instructions.

- When not in use, remove the battery pack from its device and store in a cool, dry place.

- Do not short circuit the terminals. This battery is protected with an internal self-resetting fuse, but short circuits may still cause severe damage to the battery. Be careful where you set the battery down.

• Under no circumstance attempt to open the battery case.
- Do not expose the battery to rain or moisture.

- Keep away from fire. Do not incinerate. Battery may explode in the presence of fire.

- Do not drop battery or expose it to strong shocks.

- Do not use at temperatures below 15°F (-10°C) or above 105°F (40°C). Use of the battery at very high temperatures will activate a safety circuit, disallowing use.

- Running time depends on the power demanded. Stated manufacturer run times are developed in simple laboratory tests of non-stop recording. Real-life use of zoom, automatic focus, tape review, etc., all demand extra power and shorten run time.

TO MAXIMIZE BATTERY PERFORMANCE

• Make sure the battery is fully charged before use.
- Clean the battery and terminals with a clean, soft, dry cloth.
• The battery may be warm during use on recharging. This is normal.
- When storing the battery for an extended period, be sure that it is not completely charged, nor completely discharged.

The ideal level is a 40% charge. This is approximate; the closer the battery is to this level, the better it will hold its charge during storage. The battery should be stored in a cool, dry place. The recommended temperature for storage is 59°F (15°C). You may store a battery in a refrigerator. Do not store batteries in a freezer.

- Remove the battery from your equipment when not in use. Some electronic equipment will draw current even when the switch is off.

- When operation time has noticeably shortened, the battery may need to be replaced.
