Frequently Asked Questions - ACL-DP/HH/EM Anchor Audio

How do I set up the wireless microphone?
Set the channel selector dial on the transmitter to match the channel setting on the built-in receiver. For handheld mics, unscrew the battery cover to access the channel dial. For body-pack transmitters, the dial is on the side. Ensure both are on the same channel and the transmitter power is on. The RX indicator on the lectern should light up.
How do I charge the built-in batteries?
Plug the power cord into the sound system and then into an AC outlet. The Charger LED will stay on during charging and will flash when fully charged (typically 6-8 hours). The system can be used while charging.
What is the battery life of the portable lectern?
With fully charged batteries, expect 8-12 hours at medium volume or 3-6 hours at full volume for speech. Actual life varies with volume, tone settings, and use of accessories like wireless receivers or companion speakers.
What should I do if there is no sound?
First, ensure the power switch is ON and the power LED is lit. Check that the battery is charged or the unit is plugged in. Verify that the internal speaker switch is ON, all cables are fully plugged in, and the appropriate volume control is turned up. For wireless, ensure the microphone is on and on the same channel as the receiver.
How do I avoid feedback?
Always point the microphone away from the speakers. Avoid walking directly in front of the sound system while speaking. Reduce the overall volume or adjust the tone controls (bass/treble) to minimize feedback.
Can I use the system while charging?
Yes, the Acclaim Portable Lectern can be operated normally while the built-in batteries are charging. The charger will automatically power the amplifier and charge the batteries simultaneously.
How do I change the wireless channel?
Rotate the Wireless Channel Selector Knob on the lectern (for each receiver) to the desired channel (1-16). Then set the corresponding transmitter (handheld or body-pack) to the same channel frequency by adjusting its dial. Repeat for dual wireless systems, ensuring each pair uses a different channel.
What does the charging LED indicate?
A steady Charger LED means the batteries are charging. When the LED flashes, the batteries are fully charged. If the LED is off, the unit is not charging (e.g., power cord disconnected or battery completely drained). At high volume output in AC mode, the LED may flicker as power is shared.
How do I maintain the batteries for long life?
Fully charge the batteries before first use and after every use. Store the system with batteries fully charged. If storing for extended periods, leave it plugged into AC or charge at least once a month for 24 hours to prevent deep discharge.
What should I do if the wireless system has interference?
Change the channel on both the receiver and transmitter to a different frequency. Try channels that are not in use by other nearby systems. The diversity wireless system uses two antennas to automatically switch to the stronger signal, but persistent interference may require selecting a clear channel.

DIVERSITY WIRELESS BY ANCHOR AUDIO

Anchor Audio UHF wireless is a 16 channel, diversity wireless system that receives signals with two independent antennae. With diversity wireless the receiver processes the stronger signal, effectively minimizing dropouts and interference from other transmitting sources. The antennae are mounted internally so there are no obstructions or risk of damage.

CHANNEL SELECTION - BUILT-IN RECEIVER

Select a channel, set the built-in receiver & microphone transmitter to that channel before using your wireless system.

  1. Choose any available wireless channel/ frequency from 1 thru 16 (see page 4 for transmitter instructions)
  2. Set the Wireless Channel Selector Knob to the channel/frequency you choose in step 1

If you have two wireless receivers repeat above for the second receiver. Remember, each receiver/transmitter pair must be set to different channels to avoid interference.

CARING FOR YOUR BUILT-IN BATTERIES

It is very important that you fully charge the batteries in your new portable lectem before the first time its used. To preserve battery life it is also recommended that batteries be fully charged as soon as possible after every use regardless of the length of operation.

UNDERSTANDING THE BATTERY LEVEL INDICATOR

LED Flashing Red: Battery charge is very low, in 15-30 minutes the Battery Protection Circuit will turn the system off. LED Off: Battery is completely drained and must be charged.

NOTE: System can be used while batteries charge!

OPERATING IN AC MODE

Plug your portable lectern into an AC outlet. Operate as normal while charging the built-in batteries at the same time. The Charger LED will light during charging and flash when the battery is fully charged.

BATTERY SERVICE TIME

With the batteries fully charged you can expect approx.: 8-12 hrs @ Medium Volume 3-6 hrs @ Full Volume of continuous music input (longer for speech). Service time will vary depending on control settings and use of accessories (built-in wireless receivers and/or a companion speaker).

CHARGING YOUR BUILT-IN BATTERIES

An automatic charging system is built-in to your Acclaim Portable Lectern. It is designed to properly charge and maintain the systems built-in batteries. To charge batteries:

  1. Plug the power cord into your sound system
  2. Plug the other end of the cord into AC outlet - Charger LED will stay on during charging
  3. Batteries fully charge in approximately 6-8 hrs - Charger LED will flash

When in AC mode the system automatically transfers power from the battery charger to the power amplifier at high volume output, causing the Charger LED to flicker.

Always store your sound system with the batteries fully charged. For extended periods of storage leave the system plugged into an AC outlet. If this is not possible, charge the system at least once each month for a minimum of 24 hours.

Waste electrical and electronic products must not be disposed of with household waste. Please recycle where facilities exist. Check with your Local Authority or Retailer for recycling advice.
