WARNINGS

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Unplug from the power socket when not in use and before cleaning.
- Allow to cool before removing or replacing any parts and before cleaning.
- CAUTION: Serious burns may result from the appliance being pulled off the counter top. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the table or counter where it may be grabbed by children or become entangled by the user.
• The appliance becomes hot while frying; do not touch the hot surface, use handles and gloves.
- Never operate the appliance with the oil level below the minimum mark or above the maximum mark.
- Stand the appliance on a stable flat surface before use.
- This appliance has a thermal safety device, in case of thermostat failure the electrical circuit has an automatic cut-out, thus preventing overheating.
• Do not open the lid during frying.
- The oil in this appliance will stay hot for some time after it has been switched off. CAUTION: Do not move the appliance until it has cooled down to room temperature; RISK OF SERIOUS BURNS.
• To ensure safe operation, oversized food and utensils must not be inserted into the appliance.
- The use of accessories not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.

OPERATION
Clean the appliance before first use (See 'Cleaning' chapter.)
Filling with Oil or Fat
Do not switch on the appliance before you have filled it with oil or fat.

Place the fryer on a stable level surface.
-
Fill the oil container with oil or fat.
-
The oil level must always be between the maximum and minimum marks shown on the oil container wall.
• Always use suitable oils and fats which can withstand high temperatures. - Do not mix oils or fats of different types or with used cooking oil.
Frying
-
Plug the appliance in.
-
Set the thermostat knob to the desired temperature depending on what you are going to fry.
• The red indicator light will be illuminated.
- For the required temperature and time, please refer to the illustration on the appliance; temperatures and times shown are for reference only.

- When the red indicator light goes off, the fryer has reached the set temperature.
-
During the frying cycle, the red indicator light will switch ON and OFF as the temperature rises and falls due to the thermostat control.
-
Put your desired food into the fryer basket and slowly lower the basket into the oil.
Care has to be taken that the oil level does not rise too close to the edge of the oil container when the fryer basket is inserted, in case it does, please take out some food from the basket.
CAUTION: Lowering the basket too quickly or introducing wet food could cause the oil to explode or spatter; Risk of serious burns.
- Close the lid.
- When the food is cooked, turn the thermostat knob anticlockwise to the 'OFF' position, the red indicator light will go off.
NOTE:
- Do not overfill the basket. This will cause a drop of oil temperature and will affect the frying quality. The maximum amount of French fries to be fried in one batch is 500 g.
- Do not keep the oil at high temperature for long periods of time. This will have an effect on the oil quality.
- Set the thermostat knob to the lowest temperature while performing different frying cycles.

During and after frying
Beware of hot stream and possible hot oil splashing during frying.
When the food is cooked, open the lid by pressing the lid release button, raise the basket out of the oil container and gently shake it to drain the remaining oil from the food.
CAUTION: Hot steam or splashing oil can suddenly be emitted from the appliance when opening the lid.
CLEANING
Unplug the appliance before cleaning.
Allow the oil to cool down to room temperature. After use oil keeps its temperature for a long period of time. During the cooling down period ensure that the appliance is placed in a safe area where nobody can accidentally move it.
Do not attempt to move or carry the appliance while the oil is still hot.
Clean the lid, basket and container in hot water with warm soapy water. Rinse them with fresh water and dry them thoroughly.
Clean the housing with a damp cloth. Never use aggressive or abrasive cleaners to clean the outside.
Surfaces in contact with food should be cleaned regularly to avoid cross contamination from different types of food, the use of hot clean water with a mild detergent is advisable when dealing with surfaces that come into contact with food.
Correct food hygiene practises should always be followed at all times to avoid possibility of food poisoning /cross contamination.
NOTE:
- Make sure the oil container is completely dry before adding new oil or heating up oil, water in hot oil can lead to hot oil splashing.
- Dispose of the used oil in an environmentally friendly way.
