How do I install the bulbs in the FRC-24 fixture?

Disconnect the fixture from power. Remove the plastic retaining clip. Position the bulb with the printed side of the base facing up, align the pins with the holes in the base, carefully slide the bulb in until the clip locks. Replace the retaining clip. Repeat for each bulb.

How do I remove a bulb from the fixture?

Disconnect from power, remove the plastic retaining clip. Push the metal clip on the base to release the bulb, then carefully pull the bulb out. Replace the retaining clip.

What type of bulbs does the FRC-24 use?

It uses four 55W 4-pin twin-tube daylight fluorescent bulbs. They are included and are daylight-balanced (approx. 5600K).

Can I use only two bulbs instead of four?

Yes, the fixture has two switches that allow you to select between full power (4 bulbs, 220W) or half power (2 bulbs, 110W) for greater lighting versatility.

How do I change the fuse?

The fuse holder is located on the back of the unit. Turn it counterclockwise to remove the fuse. Replace it with a spare fuse (included) and turn clockwise to tighten. Ensure it is tight, otherwise the lights will not turn on.

Is the FRC-24 flicker-free?

Yes, the fixture is designed to be flicker-free, which is important for video and photography to avoid banding.

What are the safety precautions for handling fluorescent bulbs?

Fluorescent bulbs contain mercury. Handle with care to avoid breakage. If a bulb breaks, do not touch the mercury with bare hands. Dispose of broken bulbs properly according to local regulations.

  • Make sure the unit is powered off when plugging it into a power source.
• Use only the correct, recommended voltage.

• Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the equipment—doing so will void the warranty, and Impact will not be responsible for any damage.

Thank you for choosing the Impact FRC-24 220 W Ready Cool Fluorescent Light. This lightweight daylight-balanced fluorescent lighting fixture is an inexpensive way to produce soft, professional lighting in the studio or on location.

Fluorescent bulbs deliver diffused, flattering light. Fluorescents are also cool to the touch, so they're ideal for photographing anything that's affected by heat, like food or people. The FRC-24 air-induction cooling system keeps everything really cool.

Your Ready Cool light has a flexible stand adapter that makes it possible to mount the fixture to most light stands and easily position the light. The built-in barn doors provide control over your lighting. The easy-access built-in fuse protects the unit from overloaded electrical circuits—it’s always a good idea to keep spare fuses on hand.

The included daylight-balanced bulbs will produce light with a color temperature similar to daylight. The hammered silver reflective surface on the barn doors maximizes light output. The FRC-24 fixture has two switches to select full or half power—you can choose between 220 W or 110 W for greater lighting versatility.

3. Before you turn the Ready Cool fixture on for the first time, be sure that the fuse holder on the back of the unit is turned clockwise until tight. If it's loose, the lights will not turn on.

One-Year Limited Warranty

This Impact product is warranted to the original purchaser to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal consumer use for a period of one (1) year from the original purchase date or thirty (30) days after replacement, whichever occurs later. The warranty provider's responsibility with respect to this limited warranty shall be limited solely to repair or replacement, at the provider's discretion, of any product that fails during normal use of this product in its intended manner and in its intended environment. Inoperability of the product or part(s) shall be determined by the warranty provider. If the product has been discontinued, the warranty provider reserves the right to replace it with a model of equivalent quality and function.

This warranty does not cover damage or defect caused by misuse, neglect, accident, alteration, abuse, improper installation or maintenance.
