How do I connect the GSR-MZ01 to my vehicle?

Connect the OBD II connector to the vehicle's OBD II port for power. Plug the GSR into the factory USB data port. Install the SiriusXM antenna on the roof (outside) and connect it to the SXV300 tuner. Mount the GSR and tuner behind the dash. Secure all connections.

Why doesn't SiriusXM appear as an audio source?

First, verify the power connection: check the OBD II connector or the LEDs on the GSR module. Then, ensure the USB connection between the GSR and the vehicle's USB port is secure. If still not appearing, check the tuner connection.

My presets disappear after turning off the car. What's wrong?

This indicates the GSR is connected to an accessory power source instead of constant 12V. The GSR requires constant battery power to retain presets. Ensure the yellow wires are connected to a constant battery power source, not accessory power.

How do I update the firmware?

Use a Micro USB cable to connect the GSR to a computer. The Micro USB port on the GSR is used for firmware updates. Download the latest firmware from VAIS Technology's website and follow the update instructions.

What SiriusXM tuner is required?

The GSR-MZ01 requires the SiriusXM SXV300 Vehicle Tuner. This tuner is included in the GSR-Tuner Kit but must be purchased separately if you only have the GSR-MZ01 module.

Can I install the antenna inside the car?

No, the antenna must be mounted outside the vehicle for best reception. Install it on the highest point of the vehicle with a clear view of the southern sky to avoid 'No Signal' messages.

How do I tune channels?

Use the factory radio controls. You can browse channels by category, select 'All Channels', or use 'Track Seek' to go to the previous or next channel. For presets, long press 'Track Seek' to tune the previous or next preset.

What does 'Check Tuner' message mean?

This message indicates a problem with the SiriusXM tuner connection. Verify that the tuner is properly connected to the GSR module. If the connection is secure, the tuner may need to be replaced.

Is professional installation required?

Professional installation is highly recommended because the wiring and installation require special technical skills. Incorrect installation can damage the product, vehicle, and void warranties. Always follow the manual's safety instructions.

BEFORE WIRING, DISCONNECT THE CABLE FROM THE NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

Before starting any installation work, you must wait 90 seconds after turning the ignition switch to the LOCK position and disconnecting the negative (-) terminal from the battery. The supplemental restraint system (airbag) is equipped with a backup power source. If installation work is started less 90 seconds after disconnection of the negative (-) battery terminal, the SRS may deploy. When the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery the clock and audio systems memory will be erased. Before starting installation work make a record of the clock and audio systems memory settings. When installation is complete, reset the clock and audio systems to their previous settings. Check power tilt, power telescopic steering column, front power seats, power mirrors, and power shoulder belt anchorage are equipped with a memory function. When installation is complete, it is necessary to readjust the features to their previous settings Never use a backup power supply (such as another battery) during installation work to avoid losing these memory settings.

DO NOT SPLICE INTO ELECTRICAL CABLES

Never cut away cable insulation to supply power to other equipment. Doing so will exceed the current carrying capacity of the wire and result in fire or electric shock.

DO NOT ALLOW CABLES TO BECOME ENTANGLED IN SURROUNDING OBJECTS

Cables or wiring that obstruct or get caught on places such as the steering wheel, shift lever, brake pedals, etc. can be extremely hazardous.

DO NOT INSTALL IN LOCATIONS WITH HIGH MOISTURE OR DUST

Moisture or dust may result in product failure.

The wiring and installation of this product requires special technical skills and experience.

About SiriusXM Satellite Radio Operation

The unit may refuse to change the channel if your reception is going ON and OFF. Please wait until your reception stabilizes in order for the unit to allow you to change the channel easily. Due to bad reception in some areas, SiriusXM Satellite Radio may not work and/or not able to display text.
