How do I set the time and date on my WS-9400U thermostat?

Press the SET button for 3 seconds. Use the + and - buttons to adjust the hour, then press SET to confirm. Repeat for minutes, year, month, and date.

How do I program the thermostat for weekdays?

Press PROG once. The display shows 'MO' for Monday. Adjust the first period (Morning) time and temperature using +/-, press SET. Repeat for Day, Evening, and Night periods. The thermostat will copy to Tuesday-Friday automatically.

Why is my thermostat not displaying the correct temperature?

Ensure the thermostat is not near heat sources or direct sunlight. Check that batteries are fresh. If using a remote sensor, verify the sensor is within range (330 ft open air) and that the channel matches.

How do I reset the thermostat to factory defaults?

Remove batteries, wait 10 seconds, then reinsert them. Press and hold the RESET button (located inside the battery compartment) with a paper clip for 5 seconds. All settings will be cleared.

Can I use the thermostat without remote sensors?

Yes, the thermostat can operate as a standalone unit using its built-in sensor. It will control your HVAC system based on the temperature at the thermostat location. Remote sensors add extra temperature points.

How do I change the batteries?

Slide off the battery cover on the back. Insert 2 AA batteries observing polarity (+/-). Replace cover. The thermostat will retain settings for a few minutes, but it is best to change quickly.

What does the 'LO' or 'HI' on the display mean?

LO indicates the temperature is below the measurable range (32°F/0°C). HI indicates above 122°F/50°C. Move the thermostat to a more temperate location.

Can I mount the thermostat on a wall?

Yes, use the two mounting holes on the back. Insert screws (not included) into the wall anchors. Attach the thermostat by aligning the keyhole slots and sliding down. Ensure the thermostat is level.

How do I switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius?

Press and hold the SET button for 5 seconds. The temperature unit will flash. Press the + or - button to toggle between °F and °C. Press SET to confirm and exit.

What should I do if the display is blank?

Check that batteries are installed correctly and fresh. If blank, remove batteries, clean contacts with a dry cloth, and reinstall. If still blank, the unit may be defective; contact La Crosse Technology support.

SETTING UP:

Please follow these steps to ensure that your new temperature station works correctly:
1. Insert the batteries into the temperature station. See "How to install and replace batteries in the Temperature Station" below.
2. Once the batteries are in place, all segments of the LCD will light up briefly. Then the indoor temperature and humidity will be displayed. If the indoor temperature is not displayed after a few seconds, remove the batteries and wait for at least 30 seconds before reinserting them.

HOW TO INSTALL AND REPLACE BATTERIES IN THE TEMPERATURE STATION:

The temperature station uses 2 x AAA, 1.5V batteries. To install and replace the batteries, please follow the steps below:

1. Insert finger or other solid object in the space at the right center of the battery compartment and lift up to remove the cover.
2. Insert batteries observing the correct polarity (see marking).
3. Replace battery compartment cover.

TO RESET THE TEMPERATURE STATION:

1. Remove the batteries from the temperature station
2. Wait at least 30 seconds and repeat the procedures in Setting up above

BATTERY CHANGE:

It is recommended to replace the batteries in all units on an annual basis to ensure optimum accuracy of this unit.

Please participate in the preservation of the environment. Return used batteries to an authorized depot.

LCD SCREEN

The Temperature Station's LCD is divided into 2 sections, displaying indoor humidity and indoor temperature.

USING THE TEMPERATURE STATION

INDOOR RELATIVE HUMIDITY:

The indoor relative humidity is displayed on the second line of the LCD under the indoor temperature. The temperature station' built in sensor automatically measures the surrounding indoor humidity level once the batteries are inserted.

INDOOR TEMPERATURE:

The indoor temperature is displayed on the top line of the. The indoor temperature is automatically displayed once the batteries are inserted.

POSITIONING THE TEMPERATURE STATION:

The Temperature Station comes complete with a foldable stand that gives the option of table standing or wall mounting.

To wall mount:

1. Fix a screw into the desired wall, leaving the head extended out by about 5mm.

2. Using the Temperature Station's hanging hole, carefully hang it onto the screw.

Note: Always ensures that the unit locks onto the screw head before releasing.

To table stand:

Unfold the Temperature Station's stand located at the back of the unit

CARE AND MAINTENANCE:

• Avoid placing the unit in areas prone to vibration and shock as these may cause damage.
• Avoid areas where the unit can be exposed to sudden changes in temperature, i.e. direct sunlight, extreme cold and wet/moist conditions as these will lead to rapid changes in temperature which reduces the accuracy of readings.
• When cleaning the LCD and casing, use a soft damp cloth only. Do not use solvents or scouring agents.

- Do not submerge the unit into water.

- Immediately remove all low powered batteries to avoid leakage and damage.

Replace only with new batteries of the recommended size.

- Do not make any repairs to the unit. Please return it to the original point of purchase for repair by a qualified engineer. Opening and tampering with the unit may invalidate its guarantee.
