Frequently Asked Questions - SC-253 Scarlett

Can I use this pan on an induction hob?
No, the Scarlett SC-253 is not induction compatible as it lacks a magnetic base. Use on gas, electric, ceramic, or halogen hobs.
Is the pan oven safe?
Yes, it is oven safe up to 180°C (350°F). Do not exceed this temperature as the handle may be damaged.
What utensils should I use with the non-stick coating?
Use wooden, silicone, or plastic utensils to avoid scratching the non-stick surface. Avoid metal or sharp objects.
How should I clean the frying pan?
Hand wash with warm soapy water and a soft sponge. Do not use abrasive cleaners or steel wool. Rinse and dry immediately.
Can I put the pan in the dishwasher?
While the pan is technically dishwasher safe, hand washing is recommended to prolong the non-stick coating's life.
What is the maximum heat for this pan?
Do not exceed medium heat on the stovetop. Overheating can damage the non-stick coating and release harmful fumes.
Is the handle securely attached?
Yes, the handle is riveted for a sturdy hold. However, it may become loose over time; do not use if wobbly.
What should I do if food sticks to the pan?
Soak the pan in warm, soapy water for 15 minutes then gently wipe with a sponge. Avoid using a metal scraper. The non-stick coating should prevent sticking if used properly.
Can I use cooking spray on this pan?
Yes, but use sparingly. Overuse of aerosol sprays can create a residue that is hard to remove and may affect the non-stick performance.
What should I do if the coating starts to peel?
If the non-stick coating peels or deteriorates, discontinue use as the exposed metal may be unsafe. The pan is not repairable and should be replaced.
