What devices is the Sony Clié PEGA-KB11 keyboard compatible with?
The PEGA-KB11 Compact Keyboard is designed exclusively for use with Sony CLIÉ handhelds. It is not compatible with other PDAs or devices.
How do I install the keyboard driver on my CLIÉ handheld?
Insert the supplied installation CD-ROM into your Windows PC, click 'Install Compact Keyboard Software', follow the installer, then perform a HotSync operation to transfer the driver to your handheld. Ensure at least 160 KB free memory and disable any other keyboard applications.
Why does a HotSync screen appear when I connect the keyboard?
If the driver is not installed correctly, the handheld may misinterpret the connection as a HotSync request. Delete the current driver and reinstall it. If the issue persists, perform a soft reset on your CLIÉ handheld.
How do I adjust the key repeat rate or delay?
On your CLIÉ handheld, tap the Keyboard icon on the home screen, tap the arrow in the upper right corner, select General, then drag the marker arrows for 'Key Repeat Rate' (Fast/Slow) and 'Delay Until Repeat' (Long/Short).
Can I use the keyboard as a cradle for HotSync?
No, the keyboard is not a cradle. To perform a HotSync, remove the keyboard and attach the proper cradle supplied with your CLIÉ handheld.
How do I enable or disable the keyboard temporarily?
Open the Keyboard settings (tap the Keyboard icon), select General, and check or uncheck the 'Enable Keyboard' box. When disabled, the keyboard will not function even when connected.
What are the keyboard shortcuts for cursor movement?
Common shortcuts: Ctrl+Left/Right moves one word, Shift+Arrow highlights text, Cmd+Left/Right moves to line start/end, Fn+Up/Down scrolls, Tab and Shift+Tab navigate fields. See the Help screen on your handheld for a full list.
How do I assign application shortcuts to the number keys?
Go to Keyboard settings, tap the arrow and select CmdKeys. For any Cmd+number (1-9), tap the arrow and choose an application. Then press Ctrl + that number key on the keyboard to launch it.
How do I use the pointer function?
First, enable it in Keyboard settings > Pointer by checking 'Enable Screen Pointer'. Then, while holding the Alt key, use arrow keys to move the pointer, and press Alt+Enter to select. Adjust acceleration and speed in the same screen.
What should I do if the keyboard stops working suddenly?
Ensure your CLIÉ handheld is charged and correctly connected. Check that the driver is installed and enabled. If a soft reset was performed while the keyboard was connected, disconnect the keyboard before resetting and reconnect only after the handheld has fully restarted.
