How do I connect the HD10A-PLUS?

Connect the SDI input from your source to the BNC input. Then connect the analog output (composite or component) to your display or monitor. Ensure both devices are powered off before connecting.

What video formats are supported?

The HD10A-PLUS supports 1080i, 720p, and 480i (NTSC/PAL). It automatically detects the input format.

Does the device output audio?

Yes, the embedded SDI audio is de-embedded and output as analog audio on two channels (L/R). You can connect to speakers or an audio system.

Can I use a different power supply?

No, only use the supplied power adapter (5V DC) to avoid damage. Using an incorrect power supply may void the warranty.

What do the LED indicators mean?

The Power LED lights when powered. The Signal LED indicates a valid input signal. If no signal, check connections or input format.

Is the HD10A-PLUS compatible with 3G-SDI?

No, this model supports HD-SDI up to 1.5 Gbps. For 3G-SDI (3 Gbps), consider other AJA products.

How do I clean the device?

Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use any liquids, sprays, or abrasive cleaners.

Can I upgrade the firmware?

The HD10A-PLUS does not have user-upgradable firmware. Contact AJA support for any updates.

What is the warranty?

AJA provides a limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. Check the manual or AJA website for details.

How do I troubleshoot no video output?

First, verify the input source is on and sending a valid signal. Check cable connections and try a different BNC cable. If the Signal LED is off, the device may not be receiving a compatible signal.

HD10A-Plus HD/SD Analog to Digital Converter

Introduction

The HD10A-Plus is a miniature, high-quality, 10-bit analog to digital converter for HD workflows. The HD10A-Plus can add an HD or SD SDI output to cameras, VTRs, or other analog-only equipment, even computers with HD RGB graphics. The HD10A-Plus accepts HD YPbPr or RGB analog and outputs three duplicate SDI signals, and works in 1080i, 1080psf, and 720p with internal or external sync. The HD10A-Plus also includes SD mode composite, S-Video, and component support for PAL and NTSC needs.

DIP Switches

The user interface for the HD10A-Plus is an 8-switch DIP accessible through a cut-out in the bottom of the unit. Use the DIP switches to configure the unit.

Installation

Typically, HD10A-Plus installation consists of the following:

1. Configure the DIP switch for the desired equipment configuration and video formats. Power to the converter may be on or off when this is done (the converter will respond to DIP switch changes at the time they are made, so power cycling is not necessary)
2. Ensure video equipment is properly connected to the converter. Check all converter BNC connections.
3. Ensure the converter has a proper power supply source: +5 to +20VDC power. The AJA power supply model DWP is included.

Since the Mains plug is used as the disconnection for the device, it must remain readily accessible and operable.

Warranty Information

Limited Warranty

AJA Video warrants that this product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of five years from the date of purchase. If a product proves to be defective during this warranty period, AJA Video, at its option, will either repair the defective product without charge for parts and labor, or will provide a replacement in exchange for the defective product.

In order to obtain service under this warranty, you the Customer, must notify AJA Video of the defect before the expiration of the warranty period and make suitable arrangements for the performance of service. The Customer shall be responsible for packaging and shipping the defective product to a designated service center nominated by AJA Video, with shipping charges prepaid. AJA Video shall pay for the return of the product to the Customer if the shipment is to a location within the country in which the AJA Video service center is located. Customer shall be responsible for paying all shipping charges, insurance, duties, taxes, and any other charges for products returned to any other locations.

This warranty shall not apply to any defect, failure or damage caused by improper use or improper or inadequate maintenance and care. AJA Video shall not be obligated to furnish service under this warranty a) to repair damage resulting from attempts by personnel other than AJA Video representatives to install, repair or service the product, b) to repair damage resulting from improper use or connection to incompatible equipment, c) to repair any damage or malfunction caused by the use of non-AJA Video parts or supplies, or d) to service a product that has been modified or integrated with other products when the effect of such a modification or integration increases the time or difficulty of servicing the product.

THIS WARRANTY IS GIVEN BY AJA VIDEO IN LIEU OF ANY OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
