Frequently Asked Questions - ECGW9000 Ecron

How do I install the ECGW9000 portable air conditioner?
Place the unit near a window. Connect the exhaust hose to the back of the unit and attach the window kit to the hose. Extend the hose out the window, close the window to secure the kit. Plug into a grounded outlet.
The remote control is not working. What should I do?
Check if batteries are inserted correctly or replace them. Ensure there are no obstacles between the remote and the unit. If still not working, try resetting the unit by unplugging for 1 minute.
How often should I clean the air filter?
Clean the filter every two weeks under normal usage. Remove the filter and vacuum or wash with mild soap and water. Allow to dry completely before reinserting.
The unit is leaking water. What is the cause?
During dehumidification mode, the unit collects water which is usually evaporated. If leaking, check if the drain plug is loose or the unit is not level. In high humidity, you may need to empty the internal water reservoir manually.
Can I use an extension cord with this AC?
No, it is not recommended. The unit requires a dedicated 115V outlet. Using an extension cord may cause overheating or fire hazard.
What does the 'Full' indicator mean?
The 'Full' light indicates the internal water collection tank is full. In dehumidify mode, drain the tank by removing the drain plug at the back and letting water flow into a pan or directly to a floor drain.
How do I set the timer?
Press the Timer button on the remote or control panel. Use the +/- buttons to set the desired hours (1-24). The unit will turn on or off after the set time.
Why is the air not cooling?
Check if the unit is set to Cool mode and the temperature is lower than room temp. Clean the filter, ensure doors/windows are closed, and check that the exhaust hose is not kinked or blocked.
How do I access the spare parts?
Spare parts such as filters, remote control, and drain hose can be ordered from the Ecron website or authorized dealers. Refer to the manual for part numbers.
Is there a maintenance schedule I should follow?
Yes: clean the filter every 2 weeks, check drain hose for clogs monthly, and inspect the exhaust hose for leaks every season. At the end of summer, run fan mode to dry internal coils before storing.
