Frequently Asked Questions - 810-486 Menuett

How do I use the knife sharpener?
Place the product on a stable surface. Insert the blade into the appropriate slot and pull through from base to tip with light pressure. Use the rough slot for very blunt blades (3-5 passes) and the fine slot for regular maintenance (weekly or as needed).
Can I use this sharpener on scissors or serrated knives?
No, the sharpener is only designed for standard straight-edged kitchen knives. Do not use on scissors or serrated blades as it may damage both the tool and the blade.
How often should I sharpen my knives?
Perform rough sharpening every 6 months or when the blade becomes very blunt. Perform fine sharpening weekly depending on usage to keep the blade sharp.
How do I clean the knife sharpener?
Clean the sharpener with a soft brush. Do not immerse it in water or any other liquid, and do not wash it in a dishwasher.
What should I do if I oversharpen my knife?
Oversharpening can damage the blade. If you have sharpened too much, the blade may become thin or develop a burr. Use the fine slot to polish the edge and remove burrs, but if damage is significant, the knife may need professional sharpening.
Is the sharpener safe for all knives?
It is safe for standard kitchen knives with straight edges. Do not use on serrated, scalloped, or specialty blades. Also avoid using on very thin or flexible blades.
How should I store the sharpener?
Store the sharpener and sharp knives out of the reach of children to prevent accidents. Keep in a dry place.
What is the difference between the two slots?
The first slot (rough) is for coarse sharpening of very blunt blades, removing more material. The second slot (fine) polishes the edge and removes burrs, for regular maintenance.
Can I use this sharpener on ceramic knives?
No, this sharpener is designed only for metal blades. Ceramic knives require diamond sharpeners or specialized equipment.
Where can I find spare parts or get repair service?
No spare parts are available. In case of problems, contact Jula's service department. The product is not user-serviceable.
