USER MANUAL SAC-400 SANYO
- Carefully read these instructions before using this appliance for the first time.
- Do not immerse in water or other liquids. Ensure that the outside of the appliance does not get wet and do not use it with wet hands.
- Keep out of reach of children. This appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons without supervision.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handle. Do not lift the lid when pouring hot coffee from the glass jug.
- Use this appliance for its intended use. This appliance is intended for household use only and not for commercial or industrial use.
- The appliance should not be used outdoors, placed near a hot gas or electrical burner or placed in a heated oven.
- Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter.
- If appliance is to be used by a third party, please supply the instruction manual with it.
- No liability can be accepted for any damage caused by non-compliance with these instructions or any other improper use or mishandling.
FOR ELECTRICAL SAFETY
• This appliance must be earthed.
- This appliance must be connected to a 220-240 V AC 50 Hz mains supply.
- An appliance should never be left unattended when plugged in.
- An appliance dropped or damaged should not be used until examined by a service engineer.
- Never carry the appliance by the cord. Do not pull the cord to disconnect the coffee maker from the mains outlet. Disconnect the power cord from the mains outlet by grasping the plug and pulling it out.
- Do not permit the power cord to come in contact with hot objects.
- Please ask a service engineer to replace a worn or damaged power cord immediately with an approved lead of the same size and type.
- If using an extension cord with your appliance, check that it is correctly wired and rated for its use.
- Do not attempt to service this appliance yourself. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
• After unpacking the coffee maker remove all packaging from the appliance.
- Clean the body of the coffee maker with a damp cloth and dry it afterwards with a dry towel. Rinse glass jug prior to use.

- Place the coffee maker on a firm horizontal surface. Keep away from other heat sources.
- Fill glass jug and pour into water tank.
- Replace glass jug onto warming plate.
- Plug coffee maker into mains outlet and switch on.
- Water will boil and fill glass jug. When boiling process complete, switch off power at switch and remove plug from mains outlet.
• Empty water from glass jug, wash and dry with a dry towel.
• The appliance then is ready for use.
Brewing coffee.
- Fill glass jug to desired level and pour into water tank. Not less than two cups is recommended. The amount brewed will always be less than the amount of water placed into water tank.
- Place removable coffee filter into swing out filter cone. Place measured coffee grind, one tablespoon per cup desired, into coffee filter. For stronger or mild coffee simply adjust amount of coffee up or down to suit. Return filter cone to closed position and lock in place.
- Place the glass jug on to warming plate.
- Connect Coffee maker to mains outlet and switch on. Turn the on/off switch to the on position. The on/off switch will illuminate to indicate the power is on and the appliance is working.
- On completion of the brewing cycle, allow one minute for the drips from the filter cone to completely stop.
• Always ensure the coffee jug cover is in place for safe pouring and to help keep the coffee at the proper temperature.
• To maintain coffee temperature return jug to warming plate. The warming plate will automatically maintain temperature as long as coffee maker is on.
HOW TO CLEAN YOUR COFFEE MAKER
• After use and before cleaning, remove plug from mains supply and wait for coffee maker to cool.
- Wipe the outside surface with a damp cloth ensuring that no liquid enters the internal parts of appliance. Do not put any detergents or any cleaning agents into the coffee maker. The filter cone, removable filter and the glass jug should be washed daily in hot soapy water.
- Do not immerse appliance in water.
- Do not expose to direct sunlight as the quality of the coffee maker finish may deteriorate.
- The coffee maker must be cleaned when excessive steaming or brewing time occurs or if brewing action stops before all the water has been pumped out of machine. This indicates a buildup of lime or mineral deposits within the coffee maker from the water.
To clean using Vinegar.
- Pour approximately 125 ml of white household vinegar and 1 litre of cold water into the water tank.
- Place removable filter into the filter cone and lock filter cone into position.
- Place the glass jug onto the warming plate and turn coffee maker on.
- Allow approximately three cups of diluted vinegar mixture to flow through filter into glass jug. Switch off the coffee maker and allow to stand for 30 minutes.

- Switch power on and allow all remaining liquid to flow into glass jug.
- Switch off power, remove glass jug and discard liquid.
- To remove all vinegar traces from coffee maker, fill water tank with cold water to maximum level, replace filter cone, removable filter and glass jug. Switch power on and allow to fully cycle. Repeat all of the above steps if required. Wipe outside with a damp cloth and dry with a dry towel. Wash filter cone, removable filter and glass jug in hot soapy water and dry with a dry cloth.
