Time Shift allows you to pause and resume live digital TV (ATSC/QAM). Plug a USB 2.0 storage device (4GB, 8GB, or 16GB recommended). Access it via Feature Menu > MultiMedia Menu > Time Shift. Note: Formatting the USB drive is required first.

Why is there no sound but picture is fine?

Check if the volume is turned up. Press the MUTE button on the remote to ensure audio is not muted. Also verify the audio source settings (e.g., external speakers not muted).

How do I set up parental controls?

Go to Feature Menu > Parental Control. Enter the default password 0000 (or universal 3448). You can block channels by MPAA or TV rating, enable button lock, and block unrated programs. This feature works in TV, Composite, and S-Video modes.

What are the supported video resolutions for PC input?

The PC input supports various resolutions including 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x720, 1280x768, 1280x1024, 1440x900, 1680x1050, and 1920x1080 @60Hz. Recommended resolution is 1920x1080@60Hz for this model.

How can I view photos or play music via USB?

Insert a USB storage device with JPEG photos or MP3 music. Press the USB button on the remote or go to Feature Menu > MultiMedia Menu. Files are limited to 1000, and JPEG size up to 15360x8640 pixels. You can also start a slideshow with background music.

Why is the remote control not working?

Check the batteries: replace them if needed. Ensure the remote sensor on the TV is clean and not obstructed. You can still use the buttons on the TV's side panel as a temporary solution.

What should I do if there is no picture?

First, check the antenna connection. Try another channel to verify if it's a broadcast issue. Adjust brightness and contrast settings. Also, ensure Closed Captions are not set to a TEXT mode that blocks the screen.

How do I change the menu language?

IMPORTANT: Do not apply pressure to the screen display area which may compromise the integrity of the display. The manufacturer's warranty does not cover user abuse or improper installations.

ATTACHING THE BASE

IMPORTANT: The Base of the HDTV must be assembled prior to usage.

Place TV unit face down on a soft 1. and flat surface (blanket, foam, cloth, etc.) to prevent any damage to the HDTV.

Carefully align and insert the Base 2. to the stand.

Gently push the Base towards the 3. HDTV until the locking mechanism locks into place.

PREPARING YOUR LCD HDTV FOR WALL MOUNTING

We suggest that you keep your TV at least 2.36 inches (60 mm) from the wall to prevent cable interference.

Before mounting your TV on the wall, you need to remove the base.

For your safety, please use only with UL listed wall mount bracket with minimum weight of the TV without stand. (Please see page 27.)

To attach a wall mount bracket to your TV:

Remove the screws holding your 1. TV to the stand.

Remove the stand base from your 2. TV.

Secure the wall mount bracket 3. to the back of your TV using four M4 screws, as indicated in the illustration.

NOTE

▶ The wall mount bracket and the screws are not included.

Please make sure to connect the power plug to the wall outlet socket after connecting the TV to the power cord!

Install the base stand; place the 1. TV on a solid surface.

Ensure that the TV is placed in a position to allow free flow of air. Do not cover the ventilation openings on the back cover.

To prevent any unsafe situations, no naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on or in the vicinity.

Avoid heat, direct sunlight and exposure to rain or water. The equipment shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing.

Connect the antenna cable or 2. CATV cable to the aerial socket

ANT IN 75Ω at the back of the TV set.

Remote control:3.

Remove the cover of the battery compartment. Insert the 2 batteries supplied (Type AAA 1.5V).

Power:4.

Insert the power cord in the wall socket with AC power supply.

Turn the TV on:5.

Press the Power key on the remote control or the side panel control knobs. The TV will be turned on in a minute with display on the screen.

HDMI1. – Connect the primary source for digital video such as a DVD multimedia player or set top box through this all digital connector.

PC IN2. – Connect the video and audio cables from a computer here.

AV IN (AV/S-VIDEO)3. – Connect the input source for composite video devices, such as a VCR or video game. Use the white and red connectors to connect the external audio from the same source. The signal being carried by the S-Video cable and connector, if connected, will take priority over the Video RCA connector (yellow connector).

COMPONENT (Y/Pb/Pr with Audio L/R)4. – Connect the primary source for component video devices such as a DVD Player or set top box here. Use red for Pr, blue for Pb, green for Y, red for right audio (R) and white for left audio (L) inputs.

ANTENNA/CABLE DIGITAL/ANALOG5. – Connect to an antenna or digital cable (out-of-the-wall, not from Cable Box) for Digital TV.

1. SPDIF (Optical Digital Audio Out) – When a digital audio signal is associated with the input selected for viewing, the digital audio will be available on this SPDIF connection to your home theater system.
2. USB PORT – Insert USB storage device to the USB port to view JPEG photos, listen to MP3 music, or to run the [Time Shift] function. (Please refer to page 22\~24 for more information.)
3. Earphone Output – Connect to the headphones. When the headphone is inserted to the plug, all the speakers will be muted.

Once your equipment is connected, use the following procedure to view the input signal: Press the INPUT button on the remote control to select the relevant source to view. (ex: Press INPUT button to select "Component" if you have connected a video recorder to the Component input.)

TO USE THE MENUS

Press the 1. Menu button to display or close the main menu.

Use the 2. Navigation Ring to move around to select, adjust or confirm an item in the OSD (On Screen Display) menu.

Press the Menu button to enter the main OSD. Adjust the items including Video menu, Audio menu, Feature menu, Channel menu, and VGA menu. However, some function items in the menus may only be enabled in the particular source modes.

CHANNEL MENU

The Channel menu in TV mode shows as below.

1. Tuning Band: Select TV source signal from the Air (antenna) or Cable (CATV).

2. Channel Strength: Show the intensity of the received DTV signal.

3. Auto CH Search: Automatically scan all NTSC / ATSC TV channels and then store in the channel table. In channel scan process, the OSD can display the number of channels which had been found.

4. Add on CH Search: Add channels which are new found.

5. Channel List: Show the Channel List. User can edit (Shown/Hidden) the channel items or switch directly to the selected channel.

6. Channel Labels: Show the NTSC / ATSC TV Channel Labels menu for user modifying channel labels specifically.
7. FAV Channel Setting: Show the Favorite Channel List. User can edit (add/delete) the favorite channels.

VIDEO MENU

The Video menu in most source modes shows as below. It provides several video adjustment items for user fine tuning the video display. Only in VGA source mode, the Picture menu simply provides Picture mode, Brightness, Contrast, Color Temp, Noise Reduction, Backlight, Aspect Ratio, and Preset items.

1. Picture Mode: Adjust the best picture appearance from selecting the preset value of Vivid, Standard, Eco, Movie, or Personal.
2. Brightness: Video brightness adjustment, the tuning range is 0 \~ 100.

3. Contrast: Video contrast adjustment, the tuning range is 0 \~ 100.

4. Sharpness: Video sharpness adjustment, the tuning range is 0 \~ 100.

5. Color: Video color chroma adjustment, the tuning range is 0 \~ 100.
6. Tint: Video tint adjustment, the tuning range is R50 \~ G50.
7. Color Temp: Three color temperature modes. (Cool / Normal / Warm)
8. Noise Reduction: Gives four NR effect degrees, such as: Low, Mid, High and Off.
9. Adaptive Contrast: Choose On or Off to adjust the gamma after analyzing the input signal automatically.
10. DCR: Choose On or Off to auto adjust the backlight of the screen.
11. Backlight: Backlight strength adjustment, the tuning range is 0 \~ 30.
12. Aspect Ratio: Choose the display aspect: Normal / Zoom1 / Wide / Zoom2 / HDMI PC mode (for HDMI 480i/480p/720p/1080i/1080p).
13. Preset: Restore the default video settings.

AUDIO MENU

The Audio menu in TV mode shows as below. It provides audio adjustment for user to modify the audio setting. Audio language setting is only available with ATSC TV source, the option is disable under other source modes.

Sound Mode:1. Choose the audio mode: Personal, Music, or Speech.

Bass:2. Bass tone adjustment, the tuning range is 0 \~ 63.

Treble:3. Treble tone adjustment, the tuning range is 0 \~ 63.

Balance:4. Audio balance adjust the tuning range is L50 \~ R50.

1. Audio Source: Select the audio source from Stereo, SAP or Mono. (This function works in ATV only.)
2. Audio Language: Change the audio language setting on ATSC TV programs. The number of the supported audio languages depends on the ATSC TV programs. (English / Spanish / French)
3. SPDIF: Digital audio output format. Select from RAW and PCM. (This function works in DTV only.)

Speaker:8. Choose to turn on / off the TV internal speaker. The digital audio output signals and earphone output signals will not be turned off even though the TV speaker is off. The default setting is On.

AVL:9. Choose On or Off to adjust volume to be consistent across programs and channels automatically.

Preset:10. Restore the default audio settings.

FEATURE MENU

The Feature menu is shown below. This menu contains options to set the language, time, and other settings. Depending on the current mode (TV, HDMI, etc.), some options may not be available.

Menu Language:1.

[Time Mode] – Choose from Auto or Manual. When choose the Time Mode at Manual, you can set the Year, Month, Date, and, Time manually.

[Time Zone] – Set current time zone.

[Daylight Savings] – Set to On or Off.

1. Transparency: Adjust the transparency of the on-screen menu from range 0 to 10.

2. Password Setting: Change the 4-numeral parental control password. Three steps are required for changing the password: Enter Old Password -> Enter New Password -> Confirm New Password. Note: This item is only available in TV, Composite and S-Video source modes. The default password is『0 0 0 0』 and the universal password is『3 4 4 8』.

Parental Control:5. Provide the parental Control (V-chip) function setting. Before entering the Parental Control sub-menu, user has to key in the password first. Enter the Parental Lock item, then the user can modify the restricted table about MPAA or TV Rating respectively. After exiting the main menu, the parental control function is enabled. The blocked channels or source signals can be unlocked by entering the password.

Note: This feature is only available in TV, Composite and S-Video source modes. (The default password is: 3448.)

[Button Lock] – Select On or Off to lock or unlock the control buttons on the side panel of the TV. When this function is enabled, the control buttons on your TV will be locked and the TV can be controlled by the remote control only.

[Block Unrated TV] – When Block Unrated TV is set to on, your TV will block unrated programs.

[USA Parental Locks] – Set the parental control level by MPAA or TV Rating.

[Canadian Parental Locks] – Set the parental control level by English Rating or French Rating.

[Open V-Chip] – Open V-Chip is an advanced V-Chip rating system for digital channels that are received.

The rating table will be updated by program with RRT5 rating information.

Closed Captions:6. Select closed caption options. (Off / On / With Mute)

Analog Captions:7. Select analog caption options. (CC 1-4 / TEXT 1-4)

Digital Captions:8. Select digital caption options. (SERVICE 1-6) Note: This feature is only available in Digital TV (ATSC) mode.

Digital Captions Setup:9. Provides numerous options for setting the digital closed caption style in the sub-menu.

Note: This feature is only available in Digital TV (ATSC) mode.

[Style] – Set to Automatic or Custom mode. If Custom mode is selected, user can modify the detail styles described below. The setting result will be shown immediately on the bottom of the sub-menu OSD.

[Size] – Digital closed caption font size, which can be set to Automatic, Small, Normal, or Large.

[Font] – Digital closed caption font style, which can be chosen as Automatic, Default, or Font 1 \~ 7.

[Text Color] – Automatic / White / Red / Green / Blue / Yellow / Magenta / Cyan / Black.

[Text Opacity] – Automatic / Solid / Flashing / Transparent / Translucent.

[Background Color] – Automatic / Black / White/ Red / Green / Blue / Yellow / Magenta / Cyan.

[Background Opacity] – Automatic / Solid / Flashing / Transparent / Translucent.

[Edge Effect] – Automatic / None / Raised / Depressed / Uniform / Left Shadow / Right Shadow.

[Edge Color] – Automatic / Red / Green / Blue / Yellow / Magenta / Cyan / Black / White.

Input Labels:10. This option is available only for non-TV source. User can edit the input labels.

Component Setting:11. This option only shows and is available for component input, which provides fine tuning component display.

[Phase] – Adjust Picture Phase to reduce Horizontal-Line noise. The tuning range is from 0 to 31.

[Preset] – Restore the default component setting values.

MultiMedia Menu:12. This option shows the photos in JPEG formats, plays the music in MP3 formats or plays Time Shift feature in digital TV that stored in a USB storage device.

File number is limited to 1000 files. JPEG sizes are limited as followed: For HL19LE2: 10928x6144 For HL22XLE2 / HL24XLE2: 15360x8640

There are three ways to enter JPEG Viewer and MP3 MusicBox interface:

After plugging USB storage device • into USB hub, Multimedia List menu will display.

Select MultiMedia Menu in • Feature Menu to choose JPEG Viewer or MP3 MusicBox. These two items are activated only if the USB storage device is plugged into the USB hub.

Once USB storage device is • plugged: Press USB key to display Multimedia List menu for non JPEG/MP3 mode. Press USB key to switch to the other multimedia mode. (JPEG ->MP3 / MP3 ->JPEG)

[JPEG Viewer] – Press Menu to display control menu. Press Enter to enlarge the selected photo (orange frame) in browser.

Image Delay:• Set display time for each picture in slide show. There are three options: Fast, Slow, and Normal.

Music On Slide Show:• Enable background Music during slide show. It will play with the MP3 file sequence in current folder repeatedly. Music On Slide Show item will be grayed out if there is no MP3 file in current folder.

Start Slide Show:• Enter Slide Show mode.

Rotate Photo:• Rotate selected picture. (0/90/180/270)

Back to Upper Folder: • to the upper folder.

• Back to Root Folder: Return to root folder.

- Exit: Exit JPEG Viewer and return to original source. (Browser with Control menu.)

[MP3 MusicBox]

• ListInfoBar (at the bottom):
  This part contains play list information as: “Current Directory”, “Total File(s)”, “Total Folder(s)”, “Current Item” in current directory and Key Help Bar.

- PlayList (on the right side): This part contains MP3 music files.

- ControlPanel (on the left side): Bass, Treble, Balance, Volume: Adjust the audio tone.

Mute Screen: This provides an option for enabling (On) or disabling (Off) auto turn-off backlight feature while playing MP3 media. The setting status is valid in MP3 media player interface only. After setting to On, the backlight will be turned-off automatically after 10 seconds if no key is pressed. Press any key to turn on the TV.

Preset: Resetting MP3 relative parameters to the default values.

Exit: Exit MP3MusicBox interface. Return

[Time Shift] – The feature allows the viewer to pause and record the currently watched digital program (ATSC or QAM) and resume to the point where it was paused. Plug the USB storage device to activate the Time Shift selection in Feature menu.

Note:

• Formatting a USB 2.0 storage device will be needed. Save your original data before formatting.
  All the data stored in the USB device will be erased after formatting.

– Sleep timer will be suspended if it had been set before Time Shift.
- USB Drive Storage Format:

Select to format the USB disk and locate a fix area for Time Shift function.

Note:

• Format process will take at least 2 minutes. Please do not turn off power or remove USB disk during formatting.
• During formatting, a speed test will be done on the USB disk. If it fails, it means the USB disk may not support the Time Shift functions.

Start Time Shift Recording: •

Select to start the Time Shift function.

Note:

• Please do not unplug the USB storage device when the Time Shift is activated.
• Approximately 4GB memory buffers could offer 180 minutes for 480i contents or 30 minutes for 1080i contents.
• Once 4GB of data gets stored, the time shift function will delete the stored data and restart the buffering of content. This occurs even for USB devices larger than 4GB.

Time Shift limitations:

When the Time Shift feature 1. is activated, only the PLAY/PAUSE/STOP/FWD/REV/VOL+/VOL-/MUTE keys and some basic operation keys (ENTER/EXIT/navigation keys) are available. When a key is pressed and that function is unavailable, the dialog box shown below will appear.
