Frequently Asked Questions - WPM60 Waring Commercial

What type of oil should I use in the WPM60 popcorn machine?
You should use a high smoke point oil such as coconut oil or canola oil. Add popping salt for flavor. Do not use butter directly in the kettle as it can burn.
How do I clean the popcorn machine after use?
Unplug the machine and allow it to cool completely. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Remove the kettle and wash it with warm, soapy water using a non-abrasive sponge. Rinse and dry thoroughly. The warming deck and trays can be wiped clean. Do not immerse the base in water.
What is the maximum capacity per batch?
The kettle holds up to 6 oz (1/3 cup) of unpopped kernels, yielding approximately 16 cups of popped popcorn. Do not overfill to avoid overflow.
Why is the popcorn not popping evenly?
Ensure the kettle is preheated for about 2-3 minutes before adding oil and kernels. Use fresh popcorn kernels and the correct oil amount. Check that the stirring rod is properly installed and rotating.
Can I use butter or butter-flavored oil directly in the kettle?
No, butter burns at high temperatures. Use a butter melting tray or add clarified butter or butter-flavored oil after popping. The machine may include a separate warming deck for butter.
How do I replace the stirring rod or kettle?
Replacement parts are available from Waring. To remove the kettle, lift it out of the machine after unplugging and cooling. The stirring rod can be detached by unscrewing it from the motor shaft. Refer to the manual for detailed instructions.
The machine suddenly stopped working. What could be the issue?
Check if the thermal overload protector has tripped due to overheating. Unplug the machine, let it cool for 15-20 minutes, then try again. Also inspect the power cord and outlet. If the problem persists, contact Waring service.
Does the WPM60 require any special electrical outlet?
It requires a standard 120V, 60Hz grounded outlet. It draws about 1500W, so do not share the circuit with other high-wattage appliances.
Can I make caramel popcorn with this machine?
Yes, you can pop the corn first and then coat it with caramel sauce separately. Do not attempt to make caramel inside the kettle as sugar will burn and damage the non-stick coating.
Where can I find the user manual or replacement parts?
The user manual is available for free download at notice-facile.com. For replacement parts, contact Waring Commercial customer service or visit authorized distributors.
