Frequently Asked Questions - SGY-PM68 PIONEER

How do I pair the SGY-PM68 power meter with my ANT+ cycle computer?
Spin the crank 3-4 rotations to activate the power meter. Then go to your cycle computer's sensor pairing menu, select 'Power Meter' or 'Pedaling Monitor', and search for the device. The sensor ID is printed on the side of the left transmitter. For more details, see the manual's pairing section.
What is the correct magnet placement for the SGY-PM68?
Measure from the center of the bottom bracket: drive side 42 mm, non-drive side 53 mm. Use the included magnet placement template to find the exact position. Ensure the sensor line and magnet center line are parallel when the sensor passes over.
How do I perform zero calibration on the power meter?
Place either left or right crank arm at the 6 o'clock position. On your Pioneer computer, go to Menu > Options > Pedaling Settings > Magnet Calibration or ZeroCal. Follow the prompts to complete calibration. This should be done when temperature changes significantly.
Why is the LED not lighting green when I spin the crank?
Check that the magnet is within the correct gap (1.5-10.7 mm) and aligned parallel to the sensor line. Also ensure the battery is properly installed and the sensor is within range. If still no green light, adjust magnet placement.
How do I update firmware on the SGY-PM68?
Firmware updates require the SGX-CA500 cycle computer. Connect to Wi-Fi, then go to Menu > System > Firmware Update. The system will check for updates via Cyclo-Sphere. Follow on-screen instructions to complete the update.
Can I use the SGY-PM68 with a non-Pioneer ANT+ cycle computer?
Yes, the SGY-PM68 is compatible with any ANT+ cycle computer. Follow the pairing instructions for your specific computer. For magnet placement and activation, refer to the 'Easy Installation with Non-Pioneer ANT+ Cycle Computer' section in the manual.
How do I upload ride data to Strava?
Ride data auto-uploads to Cyclo-Sphere when in Wi-Fi range. From Cyclo-Sphere, you can forward rides to Strava, TrainingPeaks, Facebook, or Twitter. Go to My Workouts > Profile Settings > Link and Forward to set up auto-forwarding.
What is the battery type and how do I replace it?
The power meter sensors use CR2032 coin cell batteries. To replace, remove the sensor cover, take out the old battery, and insert a new one with the positive side facing up. The LED will flash orange for 10 seconds on battery insertion.
How do I secure the magnets permanently?
After confirming correct placement (green LED), use the supplied double-sided tape to attach the magnets firmly to the frame. Ensure the magnet center line remains aligned with the sensor line. For best results, clean the frame surface before attaching.
Where can I find the latest firmware and support?
