Frequently Asked Questions - AX11644 Barska

How do I open the safe if the batteries are dead?
Use the emergency key. Remove the logo plate, insert the key, push and turn counter-clockwise, then turn the knob clockwise to open.
How do I register a fingerprint?
With the door open and bolts retracted, press and release the Initialization Button, then immediately place your finger on the Fingerprint Scanner. Hold still until you hear two short beeps followed by one long beep.
How do I change the PIN code?
Press and hold the number '1' key until the green light turns on. Enter the current PIN code, press Enter, then enter a new 4-8 digit PIN code twice. A long beep confirms the change.
How do I reset the safe to factory defaults?
While the door is open, press and hold the Initialization Button until the green light flashes about fifteen times followed by one long beep. Release the button. All fingerprints and PIN code are deleted.
What should I do if a registered fingerprint does not open the safe?
First, test with a non-registered fingerprint. If that opens the safe, the safe is still in Factory Default mode. Re-register fingerprints following the registration steps. Also ensure batteries are fresh.
How can I test if my fingerprint registration was successful?
Close the safe door, press Enter, then place a non-registered finger on the scanner. The door should NOT open and three short beeps should sound. Then test a registered finger; it should open with one long beep.
How do I mount the safe to a wall or floor?
Use the pre-set drill holes inside the safe. For walls, locate studs, drill appropriate holes, insert anchors, and secure using screws from inside the safe. For floors, use suitable anchors for the floor type.
How do I clean the fingerprint scanner?
Use a dry cloth to remove smudges or prints after each use. Do not use chemicals or cleaning agents.
Why is the safe beeping and the green light flashing?
This is the Door Open Alarm. It activates when the door is left open and the bolts are retracted for more than 1 minute. Close the door and turn the knob counterclockwise to stop the alarm.
How many fingerprints can I store in the safe?
The safe can store multiple fingerprints. When the memory is full, the indicator lights will flash and beep twice followed by a few green flashes. You must then delete stored fingerprints by resetting to factory default.
